  • Home away from home!

"Halifax is a beautiful city that is like our second home and this condo is like home away from home. My husband grew up in Halifax and so our trips back involve visiting and entertaining friends and family. This year we came for a wedding and so lots of entertaining was involved. This condo met all our needs. I was able to cook nice meals and share them with family. It is spacious with a lovely layout and it's nicely decorated. The beds are very comfortable and the Owners provide you with comfy housecoats, upgraded Internet and some basics. We travelled with our daughter, son-in-law and their 22 month old daughter. The pack and play was great to have and it was nice to be able to put the baby to bed and continue visiting. The best feature of this condo is definitely the location. It is perfect. Walking distance to all the Harbour front, a playground, lots of restaurants, shopping, bar hopping, Tim Horton's, superstore and a liquor store. The condo comes with a parking spot and the greatest superintendent, Debra--she's wonderful. You feel safe and secure and it has laundry facilities--so you can come home without dirty clothes! I would recommend this condo for anyone who wanted a home away from home experience."

  • Quiet, Lovely, and felt like I arrived in a Pinterest Photo!

"At first glance I fell in love with this cottage. Its faces the ocean and you can watch the sunset right from the upper bedroom bed. Each room is lovingly decorated in beachy cottage theme. It's immaculately clean and well taken care of. I couldn't have asked for a more wonderful place for my 13 year old daughter and I to reconnect and turn off all electronics. We also brought our little chihuahua, bubbles. She loved sitting outside on the front porch which was gated at both ends to keep her safe. There is no internet, which I welcomed. If we needed to keep in contact we just drove to town, a few minutes away. I loved all the windows in this cottage. At night I would open and let all the fresh air inside. I could also listen to the ocean to fall asleep at night. So nice. There is a well known seafood market just down the road which sells live lobsters, and there is a huge pot (with directions) to cook them in at the cottage. The kitchen has everything you would need to make yourself at home. Actually, this cottage has everything you need, from extra blankets and towels to laundry detergent and extra shampoo if you forgot yours. The sunroom is where we spent most of our time staring outside at the ocean each morning and night. Peggy and Rex (the owners) live just down the road. They great wealth of information about the area and are lovely people. Annapolis Royal is a quaint quiet town, but has lots to see and the history is amazing. We took the graveyard tour and thought it was really fun and information. There is a market in town every week that showcases local vendors. There is also a cute gift store in town at the very end....not to miss. I highly recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a quiet holiday. I say quiet because it feels like a peaceful retreat. In today's world sometimes you just need to find a place like this to relax and unwind. There are also trails in the backyard you can go on. This would be a PERFECT honeymoon cottage. Long walks on the beach in front were an everyday occasion for us, even when the weather was rainy. My daughter and I found lots to do in the area. We shopped at Frenchy's. If you don't know what that is, then look it up and plan an afternoon to go."

  • Soul-nurturing home and location

"While the remoteness and quietness may not be for all, for aging campers who remember and crave what it's like to be immersed in a life of stars, moonrises, sunrises, and sparkling water views, almost (not quite) off grid and with lots of hiking nearby...well, Top of the World takes it up a notch and gives you all the comforts of home as well. My only warning for my age cohorts is the bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs. Good lighting (the owners have all the details covered), but not the easiest stairs...you have to fully wake up for them. And to the discerning city-dwelling cook...while you'll be happy with the kitchen, you may not be happy with the grocery stores (or prices) of Northern Cape Breton. Do all the grocery shopping you can before you hit the Cabot Trail. Bring a big cooler...it's a good 3 + hrs to Capstick after the last big stores. As it must be for a place this special!"
