  • A touch of good luck

"Having visited the area before we decided to book again however only three weeks before our departure, our normal accomadation was double booked we then had to find some accomadation very last minute as we are only 2 we would not look for somewhere quite as large but due to a cancellation we were able to book Plantation cottage. The accomadation is in a great natural spot monkeys in the trees and lots of greenery yet only a 2 minute drive to the beaches.Whilst you could manage maybe without a car I would recommend this gives the flexibility. The accomadation easily could handle 6 adults everything that is needed for a lovely holiday .We ate out every other night with all restaurants within a 5 minute drive all recommended including SeaCat,lonestar, drift, and two within lime grove ,Friday nights include entertainment.Stacey the manager is always at hand and Mavis the cleaner a real star.Although we know the area a little directions to the property were spot on .The accomadation is as the photos all excellent,we were blessed with our misfortune and would not hesitate to book again many thanks everyone."

  • Superb Apartment, Great Location

"We really enjoyed our first stay at Yellow Bird. The apartment was excellent and perfect for my husband and I in every way. Very clean, well equipped and exactly like the photos. We arrived at the Sugar Hill estate early evening on our first day, picked up the keys from the club house and Phil the housekeeper was waiting for us. Phil was excellent, very friendly, helpful and efficient and nothing was too much trouble. The grounds and facilities of the Sugar Hill estate were excellent. The communal pools were also never too busy which was ideal for us and we also dined at the newly opened restaurant in the clubhouse 'Carizma on the Hill' where the food was very good and there was also live music on which made it extra nice. With the apartment you also get access to the Beach Club at the Fairmont Hotel which is 5 minutes drive away which was an added bonus for us. Again not too busy and you can easily get a comfy lounger and brolly a few steps away from the sea. All in all a fabulous holiday, great apartment, great location and communication with Kate (the owner) and Phil was excellent. We highly recommend this apartment and we have booked to go back next year."

  • A beautiful place to visit

"Lumiere is a beautiful property in a peaceful setting around five minutes drive or 15 minutes walk from the nearest town, Holetown. The facilities are top class both inside and outside of the apartment. There are two swimming pools (very quiet in March) a bar, gym and restaurant on site. The apartment is beautifully furnished and extremely well equipped with very comfortable beds both inside and out ( we thoroughly enjoyed the luxury of the day beds on the upstairs terrace next to the hot tub!). The resort and town were friendly places with a great choice of bars and restaurants available and beaches well worth a visit. We hope to return one day."

  • A Heavenly Holiday

"I am finding it hard not to write a stupidly long review as we had such a good time! This house is in a great location, an easy walk from the beach and the absolutely gorgeous Lonestar restaurant (seriously amazing cocktails as well as breakfast/lunch/dinner). The Fairmont beach club access was a huge bonus too - they have sunbeds and a great restaurant which is set back off the sand in the shade which was great for us as we had an 8 month old baby who wanted to eat sand all the time. Buses to Holetown are cheap and easy and fun and Massy's supermarket offers a free shuttle ride home if you have a lot of shopping. Like others before us have said the house itself is great, in good condition, perfectly clean on arrival, nicely decorated etc. with spacious airconditioned bedrooms and fantastic bathrooms (I am very fussy about bathrooms)! The communal pool is right outside the door and we spent loads of time there - it was always delightful. It was very tranquil on the private terrace apart from some dogs barking every evening. Take a few provisions and/or ask Kimberley to arrange for some to be there on arrival otherwise you will have nothing at all to eat and there are no shops within walking distance. We found food expensive (apart from rice and rum!) but it's really easy to get what you want. Barbados is a wonderful place! We have never been before and fell for it completely. The weather was amazing and the welcome even better. All in all, we would certainly go back. Thank you!"
