  • Outstanding diving and great villa for 8 adults and one two year old.

"Thanks for a wonderful stay on Cayman Calypso. It worked beautifully for our adult family of 8 and one two year old. After spending a wonderful week on Little Cayman with nothing to get around but bicycles, I was not sure that I would be happy on the larger and more crowded Grand Cayman. But East End was just great and unlike on Little Cayman, the car was essential. The diving was extraordinary off of East End with magnificent underwater topography, canyons, swim-throughs, tunnels, etc. Ocean Frontiers was a terrific dive operation and we enjoyed the Botanical Gardens and walking the Mastik trail. We spent a day going to the West End to dive the Kittiwake, and although the dive was great, we were quick to return to the the East end for lunch going to Compass Point for lion fish tacos. Seven Mile Beach is not our cup of tea. We preferred long walks on the beach starting at the public beach just up the road and towards Morrits Resort. As divers with Ocean Frontiers we had access to kayaks and used them quite a bit. Since it was lobster season and our son was experienced at catching them, we were regularly supplied with lobster caught at the reef close to the villa. The villa was well equipped and the property manager was very responsive with our few initial requests, including a replacement for the third floor studio fold-out bed mattress which was not useable. He supplied us with an inflatable mattress that we used on the floor and when that did not work because of pump problems he supplied a regular mattress. We ate in most of the time and did a lot of cooking. The kitchen layout was great for a group of people cooking together. The one downside in the kitchen for us was that we would have preferred a full oven with broiler rather than combo micro-wave convection oven. We used the charcoal BBQ quite a bit. We loved the cascading pools and spent a lot of time in and around them. Rarely was anyone else in the pools. We also loved the colour scheme of the villa complex and the villa itself. The master bedroom is really quite wonderful and a great retreat on its own. The layout works well for a big group even though the first floor kitchen, living dining room area is not that big."

  • So relaxing and perfect vacation spot!

"We loved the slower pace of staying on the East End in the beautiful Grand Cayman. The condo was perfect for our family of 5. Plenty of room to spread out and relax. We loved having coffee on the patio every morning. Nancy was very helpful and gave us great information about where to get groceries and what her favorite restaurants were. We ate at the Reef, Tukka, Italian Kitchen, Over the Edge, and The Lighthouse. Wonderful meals at each one. Went with Captain Chris from White Sands on the stingray tour. Enjoyed going with him more than our last visit to GC when we went with Red Sail Sports. It was a smaller group of people and he was much more relaxed than Red Sail. It was an early morning but so worth it! Also did the Bioluminescence tour and it was amazing! We rented snorkel equipment from White Sands at the Reef and kept the equipment all week. Went snorkeling all but one day. Great snorkeling at Governor's Beach on Seven Mile...you have to swim out about 100 yards directly in front of the left end of the fence when facing the Governor's home. So much fun! The condo was great access to Rum Point Beach which we loved. Had lunch there twice. Also great access to Starfish Point which is a beautiful beach. Our 18 year old son took his hammock and hung it between 2 palm trees at the end of the beach....absolute paradise!! We also walked part of the Mastic Trail and saw 6 parrots! The rental manager, Barbara, was also very helpful when we needed to reach her a couple times during our stay. It was great being able to use all the amenities of the Reef...we took full advantage of that. Wonderful vacation, wonderful memories. We hope to return!!!"

  • Exactly as described

"No hidden surprises here, at least not bad ones. Well appointed home with semi private pool (which doesn't seem to ever be used by the other owner). Great central location to explore the island, very private escape to enjoy at the end of a busy day. Great family vacation and look forward to booking again!"

  • All we wanted and more...

"We arrived at the Cottage on April 24 for our honeymoon. We had issues with the flight which made us arrive later than expected but we had no issues finding or getting into the cottage. Nadine came over and met us as we arrived. She had put beautiful flower petals around the cottage and left us a bottle of champagne and a welcome note. We were so very pleased with this place. The cottage was very clean and cozy. It had everything we needed. You truly are a few steps from the beach and the view is amazing. If you are wanting to go be around a ton of people and party all night...this is NOT the place for you. We saw maybe 5 other people on the beach the entire 6 days we were there and they were people that had walked from a resort down the road. Our desire was to go somewhere we could relax and chill as much as possible and this place did not disappoint. There was construction being done to the big house. Nadine apologized for the noise but we honestly never heard it. Speaking of Nadine - She is WONDERFUL!!! We felt like we left there knowing a new friend. She even sent us home with an amazing wood carved fish that we will forever cherish. We recommend this place to anyone traveling to Grand Cayman. If we ever go back we know exactly where we will be staying. :-)"
