  • Unbelievably comfortable and memorable experience!

"Looking for a vacation filled with fabulous activities, sunshine, sailing and delicious food? Aboard Sea Witch you will be with John and Susan, knowledgeable of Caribbean waters, eager to snorkel, fish, hike and involve you with sailing. They listened to our desires and designed a memorable vacation that our teenagers thoroughly enjoyed, along with their parents. We snorkeled with turtles, octopus, colorful fish, hiked to the bubbly baths and saw goats, hermit crabs and nests of termites. White sandy beaches and sunny Caribbean days were filled touring island sights, enjoying beach bars and relaxing when we were not sailing. Our children were also able to complete their dives and earn their scuba license. Daily, Susan prepared delicious meals and served refreshing island beverages. She incorporates local fruits and vegetables and sets her table with a nautical theme. John and Susan are a safety conscious, fun loving couple that graciously include you into their home/sailboat, the Sea Witch, providing everyone a vacation of a lifetime. Can't wait to return!"

  • Fantastic experience!

"Shane is a great host, adventure guide, skipper and cook! This charter was a first-time experience for most of us (3 couples) and it was fantastic. Shane has spent more than six years doing charters out of Red Hook, and he knows a lot of awesome spots that are only accessible by boat. Before we arrived, he emailed a questionnaire to help plan activities, meals, beer & wine, etc., stocked the boat according to that, and we simply reimbursed him. We had breakfast & lunch on the boat, and 3 dinners with a special "drink of the day." The other nights we all ate at restaurants. We spent a full week just sailing, snorkeling, hiking, relaxing; the women did morning yoga on the trampoline. Shane laid out lots of options, let us choose our destinations and joined in the hikes and snorkeling. And he was happy to involve us in the actual sailing, anchoring, etc., although he's used to managing the boat solo. The beaches on the north side of Tortola were closed because of big swells, and even the Drake Channel was a little rough, but Shane knows all the tricks to avoid seasickness. We were glad to be on a catamaran rather than a monohull, and we skipped the longer haul to Anagada (not much there anyway), spending more time at remote spots on St. John instead. The diversity of marine life in the mangroves at Hurricane Hole and around Waterlemon Cay is incredible. Shane knows a lot about the history of the islands too: Indians, sugar plantations, pirates. Norman Island was the model for Stevenson's "Treasure Island", Dead Chest Island the origin of "Dead Man's Chest (Yo-Ho-Ho...)", Sandy Cay was in the opening credits of "Gilligan's Island." We had a great mix of out-of-the-way adventures plus some more standard stuff like Foxy's and the Soggy Dollar on Jost Van Dyke. Guiding LIght might seem a little tight for 7 people, but Shane is such a genial, easy-going guy that everything worked out wonderfully. Why would anybody choose a Moorings charter costing twice as much?"

  • Destination - Paradise!

"My wife and I rented this magnificent house for 10 days to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Just the two of us! This location was paradise on earth. The view from every room of the house is spectacular. We are city people by nature, so being able to enjoy the panoramic view of the ocean and see the urban landscape of Charlotte Amalie below was the perfect setting for our vacation. The house is very private and secluded without giving you the feeling of being isolated and vulnerable. Every room of the home is appointed with lovely furniture, quality linens, and generous-size beach towels. All of the appliances are top-of-the line. Sitting on the covered outdoor patio during the heat of the day provides cool relief with a stunning view. If you choose to stay indoors, the comfortable living room gives you the feeling you are perched in a hideaway in the trees with a panoramic view of the ocean below. Be aware that the living room is not air conditioned, but you'll spend most of your time outdoors. We spent hours in the sparkling pool. Aside from a quick skim each morning, this pool was the perfect size and temperature for lingering in the water at any time of day. We have rented private homes for vacations for years. Realistically nothing is perfect upon arrival. But Nikki cared for any concerns we had at lightning speed. Never once did she make us feel we were the problem. This house will be our residence whenever we come to St Thomas. We researched many homes and resorts before selecting Villa Montana. This home is by far better than any property in this price range."

  • Staying aboard Friendship was fantastic

"Captain Jimmy is a friendly, kind & generous host. He was always happy to give us rides to St Thomas & Water Island anytime we needed. He makes delicious banana pancakes and has the best dog - Brady - who swam with me a few times. Cheers, Michelle"
