  • Just what we needed!

"This studio fit our needs perfectly, and was in a fabulous location right on the beach in Bolongo Bay. The patio overlooks the outdoor seating area for Mim's Restaurant (a must-do for their Thursday night shrimp feast), which is lovely at night with all the lights and the wonderful water beyond. We were lucky enough to have a full moon during part of our stay, which was spectacular. Our only "complaint," which probably has more to do with the island itself than the condo, is that the water pressure and temperature in the shower were a little unpredictable. Consequently, our showers were much quicker than at home (which is probably a good thing)! But that's a small price to pay for an otherwise excellent stay! The owner was great and she really put a lot of thought into providing amenities and little extras for her guests. Everything from beach chairs, umbrellas, noodles and boogie boards to mini toiletries like shampoo, conditioner and lotion. Thank you!"

  • Top of the Mountain Retreat

"We enjoyed our stay in St. Thomas and our " retreat on top of the mountain". The cottage was clean and well maintained. Any problems were dealt with immediately. There was plenty of cooking supplies, towels, sheets, etc. The washing machine and dryer were a bonus. We enjoyed the porch over looking the bay, and watched the cruise lines and cargo boats come in each day and leave at night. I wished there'd been a telescope so we could see the names of the ships as they sailed by us. We went to the Puelbo supermarket for our food supplies. It was were the locals go, and is off the mountain and near downtown. The customers and cashiers were very accommodating and willing to guide us in finding items. Everyone on the island was willing to help the "tourist". We found the beach at Corky to be the best place to snorkel. They have chairs (for rent), food, and a great beach! Servers even come out to the beach to sell drinks and food. Many offer free drink "tastes". We went so many times that we learned every ones name and, of course, got better service. Red Hook is an area where you get the ferry over to St. John and has a lot of eating and tourist attractions. Tuto is another area where the Walgreens and K-Mart are. Driving on the "wrong" side of the road was a little strange and took concentration! You could always use the "taxis". Iggies is a restaurant near our Mountain Retreat, right on the water offering drinks and good food. Go spend some time on St. Thomas and at the "Mountain Retreat", you will love it!"

  • Southwind Villa Paradise

"We have rented lovely villas in some of the most beautiful places, but our group agreed hands down that Southwind on St. Thomas tops the list. The setting can't be beat, in an upscale gated mahogany forest, with a vista to die for! The villa offers every amenity imaginable, including a huge heated pool, a modern kitchen and updated bathrooms, a large barbecue grill, and a veranda that we never wanted to leave. Southwind is very tastefully furnished with the comforts of the guests in mind. We never rented a villa so well stocked with staples, and so beautifully maintained. The property is landscaped with exotic tropical flora with dramatic lighting at night. We spent several evenings dining on the candle lit veranda overlooking the beautiful harbor of Charlotte Amalie. There were several lovely restaurants within walking distance and the beaches were a short drive. Each day we enjoyed sitting on the porch or around the pool, watching the cruise ships come and go, the seaplane taking off and landing, and on one occasion a whale and her calves breaching just beyond the harbor! It was an ever changing scene that we never tired of watching. Debbie, the property manager, met us at the airport and was so accommodating. She was there to answer all of our questions and to make sure we enjoyed our stay. If you have a group of friends or are a family looking for the perfect place to get away from it all, you couldn't pick a better place than Southwind. We look forward to returning there again."
