  • Beautiful grounds and convenient location.

"Carter and Pamela were very helpful. We were only there a few days but enjoyed our daily outings and exploration of the area. Wish we could have stayed longer. Highlights on the grounds were green poison dart frogs, fireflies, toucans and sitting in the hammocks enjoying the sounds of the jungle. The ocean and town is in walking distance and everyone was super friendly. Found many secluded beaches and loved going to manzanillo state beach at the end. The 15 km drive was amazingly beautiful."

  • Nice house, great location

"The house is really nice, great location and safe The only point I think you should improve is the shower, it needs more pressure"

  • Paradise!

"Stayed at Casa Kenia last month with my husband and two other couples- we had a WONDERFUL time! The house is very large, more than enough space for six people to still feel like we had some privacy. Decorated and landscaped beautifully, with a HUGE covered outdoor space complete with a pool table and comfy couches for lounging. The neighborhood feels safe- especially with Roy staying on site. Roy, by the way, is AWESOME. He is very conscientious and attentive to your needs, super helpful. He arranged for us to have a traditional Caribbean-style dinner prepared and served at the house-- one of the best meals I've ever had! Also recommend you ask Roy to arrange a massage while you're there- ask for Genesis, she was the best!"

  • Five nights was not enough!!!

"This is what vacations are supposed to be like. After a superb time hiking around volcanos and kayaking down gorgeous rivers through the rainforest my wife and I spent five glorious nights at Toucan Stay Inn in the Owner's Cabin. It was like having our own little home away from home. The grounds consist of beautiful tropical gardens hiding behind a secure fence and gates, and it's just a very short walk down the road to the beach. The Owner's Cabin is a large one room, combo kitchen, living room, bedroom, with a full bathroom and a large screened porch. There is plenty of hot water. After a great night's sleep in the king size bed (some nights with the A/C, some nights listening to the rain) we'd have coffee, take a long walk on the beach, come back and make breakfast, then grab the beach towels, books, etc. and head back to the beach. We picked up a couple inexpensive low to the ground beach chairs at Walmart in San Jose earlier in out trip and they were perfect for the beach. There are hammocks to use to sling between trees if you prefer. If you want a beer or a cocktail, burger, or pizza, there is a beach bar right there. Better yet wait for one of the local women to come along with hot homemade chicken or veggie empanadas. After a day of total relaxation we'd venture out to one of the many many local restaurants nearby for dinner and then back to our cabin. Night life is available if that's your scene but we prefer our solitude. After seeing many of the other accommodations in the area we could not have been happier with our choice. Mike the grounds manager will soon become a welcome friend and give good advice on local attractions and activities. A couple things we did not know but were not a problem. You have to buy your own drinking/cooking water but there is a little grocery store across the road. $5 for 5 gallons almost got us through our five nights. Also, there is no housekeeping so you can leave your bed unmade just like at home. There is not a house safe but one didn't seem necessary. The wifi worked great, there is no house computer, if you want to ride a bike you'll need to rent one nearby, and breakfast is not included. Some travel sites have not been updated with that current information. Mike informs us we would not have enjoyed his cooking anyway! Oh, the owner Jon, is always reachable by phone and is also a trove of helpful information. Although not entirely necessary since there are taxis, I would recommend a car for greatest convenien"
