  • Comfortable, economical and relaxing cottage

"Overall, this was a delightful place to stay. The AC worked well, it had two bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen. It was off the beaten path surrounded by jungle and within walking distance of a fabulous coffee/chocolate shop, little restaurant and the beach. It was nice for us to be a little out of town....more quiet and secluded. Our host was helpful and friendly. I wouldn't recommend arriving after dark as there are minimal outdoor lights, it's on a dirt road and the reception sign is small. We had some trouble with the WiFi while we were there, but Nadia reported they were working on it. We had to go to the reception area to get WiFi. Fortunately, many of the restaurants and the coffee shop had wifi so it wasn't a huge hardship. I would recommend it."

  • Beautiful cottage-like home steps from the beach!

"We had a fantastic time at Alicia's adorable little getaway home. It was secluded, yet close to everything. Proximity to Playa Negra was a perk, the nicest beach along the Puerto Viejo coast. The house itself has everything you could possible need, including a fully stocked kitchen and outdoor grill. We did a lot of cooking at the house and enjoyed eating at the outdoor dining area. A really gem in busy Puerto Viejo! Tip: renting bikes for only $5 per day made getting to and from town a breeze."

  • Wildlife Galore

"We are two couples in our 50's and have been to Costa Rica many times. This is our first time to the east coast looking for sloths and white faced monkeys and relaxing. This places exuded wildlife with sloths both sides of the house, dart frogs, snakes, iguanas, birds galore, tree frogs, monkeys, etc. Absolutely the most incredidible wildlife we have experienced and have been to many places. We had a couple of small issues with water but no big deal, this is Costa Rica and things may take a little longer. Anybody that expects things to be perfect, go to Sandals. The manager Maiva was very nice and the owners treated us very fair. This side of the country is quite flat but you need a 4x4 to get up the hill to the house. Visit Amimodo Restaurant for dinner. Awesome Italian food and probably our favourite. We went fishing a few times and caught some nice fish but recommend Malpais for really good fishing. Go and have some fun, we will return to this location."

  • Peaceful and Private

"I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a place away from (but not too far from) the crowds and noise of the main street. Hearing only the wildlife of the surrounding jungle is delightful. Love the open air feel of the house and the plunge pool is perfect for cooling off. Even though the owners are on the property, they're very discreet about allowing your complete privacy. Walking to the beach and nearby shops is easy if you don't mind a little uphill climb on the way back. Really not bad, though."
