  • What a lovely place!

"This review is a little late (we visited in July 2016) and actually for a different unit than this one. We stayed on the floor above in the recently finished "Honeymoon Suite". And it was way above expectations! The suite took up half of that floor with panoramic views of the ocean from wrap-around floor to ceiling windows. King size bed, large flat screen TV, full kitchen with granite countertops, beautifully appointed bath also with granite countertops and an outdoor shower on the balcony with amazing ocean views. The whole suite has the WOW factor! The white sand beach goes forever in both directions and for four days it was only us and a neighbor's dog walking on the beach. On the weekend a few (very few) locals came out to swim. There are alot of underwater rocks that are visible at low tide so the swimming is better up the beach a little ways. But beachcombing for shells and the array of wildlife in the tidal pools is awesome. Sunsets from the balcony were beautiful. Transfer from and back to the airport is available and recommended unless you have experience navigating the traffic in Panama City. After that a rental car from the agency in Coronado is also recommended. There is no close by restaurant but there is a well stocked supermarket in Coronado and several good restaurants in the vicinity. We enjoyed two seaside restaurants on two different beaches as well as a seafood restaurant on the main highway. I also recommend the short drive inland to El Valle. An Italian restaurant there, El Bruschetta, is excellent. Information on all this is thoughtfully given when you make a reservation. We absolutely loved staying at Suites on the Beach and highly recommend the accommodations, the locale & scenery, the ease of booking, and the hospitality shown us."

  • Paradise at the beach!

"Our group of 5 stayed in paradise for 2 weeks over Christmas and New Year on our first trip to Panama. The condo is lovely; spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. Kitchen is equipped with everything you need. The 2 main bedrooms are large with very comfortable beds! The 3rd bedroom is very small but our guest who used it said it was fine with just enough room for a comfortable, single bed. The large balcony overlooks the Pacific Ocean with incredible views! This building is in the Bijao Beach Club and Residences. It is a 5-10 minute walk to the beach down a hill. Not a problem to walk back up if you are in reasonable shape. Once down to the beach and pool area, you find an amazing, beautiful beach where you can walk for miles! The ocean is warm and calm, wonderful for swimming. Most days we saw only a few people. It was a different story at New Years-- very busy! But so much fun with music, dancing and fireworks on the beach. Another guest told us the resort has 13 pools! I'm not sure if we tried all of them but quite a few. The staff are friendly, the pools are warm and cleaned daily. The gym is modern, air conditioned and overlooks the ocean. The beach restaurant has delicious pizza! Two of our group golfed on the Bijao golf course (fees extra) and found the course challenging and well kept. You also have access to the Sheraton Bijao Beach Resort, a 5 minute walk on the beach. Try the spa! The 3 women in our group pampered ourselves with facials, pedicures and massages. Excellent service and good prices. There is lots to do in this area about 1 1/2 hours drive from Panama City. El Valle is a picturesque mountain town 1 hr.drive away. Penonomé is a town about 45 min. away. Lovely to walk around and has a shopping centre! Vista Mar and Los Camisones are good restaurants an easy drive from the condo. Picasso's in Coronado (20 min.) has great food and events like Trivia Night and Rock and Roll Night with live music! Grocery shopping at Super 99 is a15 min. drive (seafood market on the way there) or El Rey in Coronado. We will definitely return to this condo! The owner, Dalilah, lives in Panama City and I can't say enough good things about her! She will help with whatever you need and truly wants you to enjoy your vacation in Panama. She arranged a driver for us, Anthony, who is fluent in Spanish and English. He is honest, dependable and accommodating! We booked him for tours in Panama City and trips to/from airport. You will not be disappointed!"

  • Great Place

"Great Place to set up a base camp to explore the area, including El Valle. Many great restaurants and grocery stores a short drive away. A car is a necessity if you want to venture about. Playa Corona is a short drive to a very quiet, pleasant beach during the week, and even with weekend crowds still enjoyable. WiFi is a bit spotty but certainly fast enough to stay connected...Netflix and the like. Owner keeps this place very clean, and well supplied. The grounds are well kept and very diverse in plant life. Irene is a wonderful host, with an outstanding personality. I would be remiss not to mention the welcomed greetings from Maggie(the dog) at every arrival at the front gate. A throughly enjoyable experience!"

"I'm an American who grew up in Panama for 10 years (1977-1987). Some of my fondest memories of my childhood are our beach vacations in Palmar. It's been just shy of 30 years since I left, and this was my first trip back. I was excited to visit, and was so happy that Palmar hasn't changed too much and was still as lovely as ever. The location of this apartment is awesome, and the views from the balcony are amazing. I regret that I missed the sunrises, I didn't manage to wake up in time, but I'm sure they're spectacular. There was plenty of room in the apartment for the three of us, and all the things necessary for cooking, sleeping, showering, cleaning, etc. were supplied. Marlene was pretty accessible via text whenever I had any questions. Grocery stores and restaurants are easily accessible. There is still construction going on at the building site, so during the day there was a bit of noise, clutter and debris from the construction and workers. The workers were friendly, though, and were done working by 4-5pm. Despite that, I think the value was great - obviously the construction will eventually end! My husband, son, and I really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone!"
