  • Girls Getaway over Spring Break

"Went with my best friend over spring break to stay at this awesome place! We've never been to Panama before but it was unforgettable. The weather was hot and the sun was always out. Everything in the apartment was so clean and well-cared for. We both slept with the windows open and were awoken by tropical bird calls and the sunrise over the hills. The apartment had everything we needed, as well as a welcome packet with information on the area, things to do and how to get around. We made coffee and breakfast every morning and cooked dinner most nights and sat on one of the beautiful decks, overlooking the jungle and the ocean, truly spectacular views. We spent the afternoons with a quick 3 minute stroll down to the ocean, tanning and swimming, or at the pool chatting. The beach was so private, only a few other residents or locals were out on a walk or fishing. It was a quick drive to the supermarket, we didn't have a car, just took an affordable cab and stocked up on fresh produce and tequila! We were able to use the Internet and Apple TV to watch and work on whatever our hearts desired. We came back to New York tan and relaxed after a week in paradise, and got the best local tamale known to mankind on our way out. This is a perfect place to stay for a girls getaway or a romantic trip. The place is full of books, so if you're a studious writer looking for secluded travel, this would also be the perfect place."

  • Comfortable home in a quiet location

"We enjoyed staying at Tera's home. It was comfortable with a huge porch and wildlife all around us. There is one large bedroom with a very comfortable bed. There is a smaller bedroom with bunkbeds. The living room and kitchen are plenty big for a small group. It would be nice if they could stock salt and pepper and perhaps sugar so you don't have to buy it. Lots of towels available which was very nice and appreciated. I thought the shower was fine and the water got very hot if you wanted it to get hot, my friends thought it could have a little bit more water pressure. No one had any real complaints though! We felt very safe there. You are really in the wilderness out here which we enjoyed. We saw howler monkeys outside in the trees right behind the house. One day it rained very hard and we saw a caiman in the water below the bedroom window (2nd floor). So cool. Javier even killed a poisonous snake in our driveway. This is not a complaint. We were happy to be in a natural environment. I say this because if you are bringing children, I would stay with them in the yard just to be careful. We didn't get to see the sloth but we looked for it. The house is about a 5 minute taxi ride into town. You could walk into town but we didn't quite feel comfortable walking down the road because of the cars, but several locals were walking. You can walk the other direction and go over to a little beach place called Skully's. To go to a big beach, you will take a taxi into town and then hop on a water taxi, or you will take a taxi about 30-45 minutes (round trip was $35) then a water taxi. Javier was attentive, polite, friendly and helpful. He can call the taxi's for you and help make arrangements for trips if you like - this was very helpful. We were on a "girls trip" and we are well-traveled and independent. He checked in on us a couple times a day. Personally, we wanted a little bit more space from Javier, but we understand he was trying to be helpful and make sure we had a good visit. He is a very nice gentleman. All around great location, great house, great people! We had a very wonderful, amazing trip and this house was perfect for us. We appreciate Tera letting us stay here."

  • Great beach getaway

"We are a family of 5 who recently stayed in Nina's condo and were completely happy with our stay! It's a great unit with 3 bedrooms and plenty of common space. We loved the deck that looks right onto the beach and that you're only steps from the pool. It's crazy hot there so the air conditioning was essential and it worked perfectly. The grounds are neat and tidy, you feel safe and the beach is stunning! It's not a swimming beach but it's breathtaking! I would give this 5 stars if the road getting to the area was better and it had a convenience store on or near the property with some basic staples like milk, eggs, bread... As well because the road is so bad coming into it, they encourage you to be back before dark. So not entirely ideal if you're wanting to explore other areas. It's a gorgeous spot but it's isolated. So as long as you get groceries before you arrive and are ok with being home before dark, you'll love it! As well, Nina was great to deal with. Responding fast when emailed, and same with her friend who manages on site. Very helpful and informative."
