  • Wonderfull

"We had a very nice week at this cozy cottage. We have been several times on the Dingle peninsula and we stayed for the first time in Dunquin. We really would suggest to stay in this cottage. We were very welcome. Thanks a million Philomena..."

  • Coolcloger is a Rare Gem

"We are a large family (12, including a 6 month old and a 2 year old) that likes to travel together. Of the many amazing vacations we've enjoyed, our stay at the Coolcloger House was at the very top of our list. The website gives a mere suggestion of the delights that await Coolclogher guests. The home, minutes from Killarney, has been restored by its owners, Mary and Maurice Harnett, to its former glory, with beautiful antiques, exquisite wallpapers, and historic paint colors. The bedrooms are perfectly appointed, each with its own bath and breathtaking vistas from every room to the Kerry countryside. The beds/pillows are very comfortable, the linens fresh and white and crisp. The kitchen is very well outfitted, complete with a 6-burner Aga oven/range. There are several large gathering spaces, and multiple fireplaces, one of which was prepared for us every night. Yet, Coolcloger is not austere; every space is inviting and comfortable. We felt all week like we were at the home of some generous relative. Mary and Maurice were on hand as needed throughout our stay to advise and guide us about everything from outings, meals (she has outstanding chefs on hand who can prepare meals as desired), shopping (she drove us to her butcher and baker), and even party planning. On this last point, let me say that she orchestrated a elegant dinner at Coolclogher for my husband's birthday, which included rack of lamb, a homemade birthday cake, and live Irish music and dancing. What a night! I wanted to cry (in fact, I did cry) when we left. Our family always wants to choose a new adventure when planning travel, but we all agree we'll return to Coolclogher!"

  • Perfect Dingle Destination

"We rent vacation homes on a regular basis and Leah and Eric are far and away the most pleasant and helpful owners we've ever had the pleasure to deal with. Lovely over the e-mails, phone and in person! We felt so comfortable in their home - and they were always free to answer questions. Everyone had a cozy bed and after lots of hiking and exploring the boys and my husband enjoyed the easy to use tv's and wi-fi. I personally couldn't get enough of looking out the windows and the magnificent views. As Star Wars fans, we can't wait to see the "Skellig Wars" segments in the next movie! The beach location was also perfect for castle building until 10:00 at night - as the sun sets so late in the summer! Eric's tour was a highlight for us with his great storytelling and fact sharing. He also showed us places we were able to drive ourselves back to later for our own explorations and he was so patient allowing me a few extra minutes for snapping photos. We enjoyed visiting their gallery in Dingle and did buy some beautiful prints (thank you for the gifts to our boys!) Dingle is a lovely town with lots to do. We enjoyed every shop, pub, etc. we tried. Murphy's ice cream became a daily destination. Other reviews give more suggestions, our family just says - it's all good around the Dingle Peninsula / Ring of Kerry area. Our favorite two things about our amazing Irish adventure 1. EVERYONE in Ireland is so kind, helpful, and just the most lovely people you will ever meet! 2. Everything you see is a postcard vision! Each home, each vista, each cliff, ancient ruin, church, graveyard, pub, baby lamb.... Everyone cares for their homes and property and it shows - It's Heaven here and our family will definitely be back! We highly recommend this home especially if you love to walk/hike along the coast and enjoy having a cozy spot where you can enjoy a lovely view every day. Lots to do within a short driving distance too. Thank you, Leah and Eric! We so enjoyed meeting you :)"
