  • Home away from home

"My husband and I lived at Casa Beatrice for 3 months this winter (November, December and January) and absolutely loved it. The house was exactly as pictured: bright, cheerful and just the right size for the 2 of us. The living room and bedroom had great views of the sea and old town Pizzo, and the entire view from the roof terrace was exceptional. The house is comfortably furnished with plenty of blankets and a well stocked kitchen --really just about everything one would need if you like to cook, which I do. We were especially grateful for the king size bed! The few extra items we asked for (a table lamp for the living room, a small sauce pan and a few space heaters to supplement the central heating on the coldest days) were delivered either the same day by Santino, the caretaker, or arrived via Amazon a day or two later. We discovered through Santino, that we were the first couple to ever live in the house over the winter! While no long-term rental is ever problem free, the few issues we experienced were minor and were addressed immediately by the owner, Elisabetta. She and Santino were incredibly responsive and always made us feel well cared for. Communicating with both was easily accomplished thru WhatsApp. The location of the house was perfect; a 2 minute walk to the Piazza and Ercole (the best place for Tartufo!), a 6 minute walk to the beach area and a 10-15 minute walk to the newer part of town to buy groceries. We preferred to walk every where and never needed a car. There were so many wonderful things about our stay at Casa Beatrice and living in Pizzo that I could go on and on, but instead I'll just say that we will definitely be back!"

  • Perfect for a couple or with 1 child

"This property is adequate for your every needs.. has all mod cons cooker oven ironing board washing machine cutlery saucepans bbq air con etc etc... It is located in a culture de sac so no passing traffic so children can play outside in a safe environment. Easy parking in a designated area very close to the studio. On site there are 2 swimming pools tennis courts 5 a side football pitches and a restaurant... a private beach is also here. This studio is perfect for a couple or a couple with a small child as there is a z bed available.... The site is only about 7 or 8 years old and is very good... only thing missing is a small shop to get milk etc. Car is a must as it is remote with the nearest supermarket about 5km away. The restaurant is the most expensive in the area ( 6 euro for a G& T .. 5 euro for a beer) However other places are a lot cheaper.. we paid 2.5 euro for a G & T.... Tropea and Pizzo are nice towns with fab restaurants fab views and awesome beaches. We never revisit the same place but this is a real tempter.... as it's perfect for us mature couple.... and the climate is brilliant without the humidity. .. unless we were lucky !! Travelled end July beginning Aug 2016 for 2 weeks. Thankyou so much Candy for the use of your apartment and to your management team Narissa, who met us on arrival and checked all was ok... perfect holiday for us."

  • Relaxing

"We didn't know much about Calabria when we planned our trip but the host was very helpful in getting us not only a really nice apartment but also tips on what we can do while on vacation. The small beach in the marina and the swimming pool at the complex were really good options during our stay and we were able to enjoy both options. The apartment, the views are breathtaking, especially the sunsets with a glass of wine on the balcony. The host was very responsive and we would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone looking to visit Calabria in the future."

  • Beautiful apartment with amazing views

"Sue's apartment in Pizzo was perfect for our needs. It was very clean and as described with a beautiful view of the sea and Italian coastline, on clear days we could see Stromboli in the distance which was amazing! Nerissa (one of the property managers) was very helpful when we needed any advice and even bought us a few essentials (bread, butter etc) as we had a late night arrival. The apartment was very well equipped and having beach and pool towels provided meant we didn't have extra weight in our luggage, the hairdryer was a great addition too. It was spacious with a well equipped kitchen. I really liked the balcony, and the roof terrace was huge and great to relax on with interesting panoramic views. The apartment was air conditioned which was very much appreciated on the hotter days! We all loved the big pool and it was never overcrowded at any time, we always managed to get sun loungers and the other residents were friendly. I liked that an attendant cleaned the pool every morning and prepared the parasols and sun loungers, it was very well looked after. The apartment and surrounding area was very quiet. There is a railway line in front of the apartment block with trains running fairly frequently but It was not noisy and we found that they didn't disturb us at all. It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk down into the Piazza. We really enjoyed the walk and found a very interesting route down through and in between the houses to the Piazza/square. One restaurant we visited (sorry cant remember the name) on several occasions as the food was delicious and the staff and service was excellent. They listened to our requirements and provided exactly what we had asked for. The restaurant is located as you look onto the square from the viewing platform on the left, the middle restaurant. All of the ice cream restaurants are very good and its definitely worth trying the tartufo. We had many Tuc Tuc rides, the drivers are very friendly and made the journeys fun and exciting for the children. We also called on a lovely gentleman named Chicco who was our taxi driver. He was so happy, friendly and always made us laugh. He made every journey amazing and really made our boys holiday. I would definitely recommend Sue's apartment for a chilled and relaxing holiday."
