  • Feels like home

"I arrived at Liz's property in San Clemente after moving the family (my wife and I and two young daughters) across country from cold Chicago. Needless to say we were going to be pleased with the weather here, but this cozy property with, I think another reviewer said it, "the best deck in town" has made the move so easy. The apartment itself is spacious - plenty of room for our little family, and although Liz mentions the kitchen is small, it's totally functional and I enjoy cooking in it. You also won't find another property walking distance from the beach that competes with this one for perfect indoor outdoor living. The double french doors expand the living space into the outdoors and make the indoor/outdoor transition seamless. Liz has the property tastefully decorated and has thoughtfully included everything you could ever need. She's also swift to respond to any request, be it regarding local information or about the apartment itself - a natural at seemingly effortless (though we know it's not) great hospitality. I won't go into the location, which other reviewers have described well. It's ideal. If I had more time to write this review I'm sure I could bang into VRBO's character limit. Needless to say, we love the place and couldn't be happier here. 5 stars and not a bad word to say. If this unit is available, grab it."

  • So many delightful details in this home….

"My parents rented this home for our Christmas/New Year family reunion. There are so many beautiful features of the home I don't know where to begin. No detail has been overlooked. On this trip I decided that Spanish colonial architecture is my favorite style. Everything about the home is beautiful and charming, inside and out. Sue has done a great job decorating. The light fixtures, tile work, vintage furniture, pillows were all perfect for an historical home like this one. My husband, our two children and I stayed in the “casita” master suite overlooking the patio courtyard. The suite is completely charming and no detail is overlooked. The casita is open, airy, sunny, and surrounded by trees, like living in a tree house! Despite being two blocks from downtown San Clemente, the house is pretty quiet. The bed was super comfy and we all slept amazingly. My parents slept in the “colorido” suite which opens up to the courtyard with a barbecue, plenty of patio furniture and Jacuzzi tub. The kids practically lived in that tub, and my 4 year old even learned how to swim in it! (It’s pretty big Jacuzzi.) I’m not joking when I say that he took about 3 hot tubs a day. After a day of playing at the beach and in the cold water we were grateful to be able to warm up in the Jacuzzi. The courtyard feels very private and is beautiful with plants and whimsical outdoor art. At night we turned on the outdoor lights which lent a very festive atmosphere. We spent many nights cooking and eating in the backyard and just loved it. Because my grandmother cannot walk stairs she took advantage of one of the downstairs bedrooms. Fortunately, most of the living area at Casa Mira Mar is on the first floor. I was happy to see the house was stocked with children’s toys, including beach toys, as well as a pack and play crib and high chair. The house was decorated with sweet little Christmas decorations as well, which was a nice and surprising touch. The backyard is secured with a gate which was ideal for letting the kids play outside. The kitchen is supplied with new dishes and appliances and is stocked with all the spices we needed to cook up some great meals. The home is very close to the beach and train station (we took the Surfliner to San Diego for the day). There is plenty of parking with room for three cars on the driveway and it’s easy to access the freeway from Casa Mira Mar. One of my favorite features is the sky deck with stunning views of the mountains and water."

  • Fun and Relaxing Beach Home

"We had a great experience at this house for the 4th of July weekend. We packed 6 adults and 4 small children and easily could have fit more comfortably. There was plenty of privacy with the sleeping arrangements among several couples. The spa was a favorite with kids and adults. S'mores were provided and taken advantage of. The walk to the beach was no more than 3 minutes. Overall we were very impressed with the house and would recommend to anyone looking for a calm and relaxing getaway."

  • Excellent Location for a Big Family Reunion

"We had a great time at the beach house. We rented the whole house to accommodate our extended family of 18. Everyone had plenty of space. The house was very clean and well-stocked. The beach is literally steps away. We were lucky in that during our stay the beach was very sandy -- it was only on the last day that the rocks washed up. It was amazing to see dolphins and sea lions right outside! The kids had a blast playing in the waves, we all walked along the beach, and it was very close proximity to grocery, parks, restaurants etc. Lee was very responsive and a pleasure to work with - we will definitely come back again!"
