  • So many delightful details in this home….

"My parents rented this home for our Christmas/New Year family reunion. There are so many beautiful features of the home I don't know where to begin. No detail has been overlooked. On this trip I decided that Spanish colonial architecture is my favorite style. Everything about the home is beautiful and charming, inside and out. Sue has done a great job decorating. The light fixtures, tile work, vintage furniture, pillows were all perfect for an historical home like this one. My husband, our two children and I stayed in the “casita” master suite overlooking the patio courtyard. The suite is completely charming and no detail is overlooked. The casita is open, airy, sunny, and surrounded by trees, like living in a tree house! Despite being two blocks from downtown San Clemente, the house is pretty quiet. The bed was super comfy and we all slept amazingly. My parents slept in the “colorido” suite which opens up to the courtyard with a barbecue, plenty of patio furniture and Jacuzzi tub. The kids practically lived in that tub, and my 4 year old even learned how to swim in it! (It’s pretty big Jacuzzi.) I’m not joking when I say that he took about 3 hot tubs a day. After a day of playing at the beach and in the cold water we were grateful to be able to warm up in the Jacuzzi. The courtyard feels very private and is beautiful with plants and whimsical outdoor art. At night we turned on the outdoor lights which lent a very festive atmosphere. We spent many nights cooking and eating in the backyard and just loved it. Because my grandmother cannot walk stairs she took advantage of one of the downstairs bedrooms. Fortunately, most of the living area at Casa Mira Mar is on the first floor. I was happy to see the house was stocked with children’s toys, including beach toys, as well as a pack and play crib and high chair. The house was decorated with sweet little Christmas decorations as well, which was a nice and surprising touch. The backyard is secured with a gate which was ideal for letting the kids play outside. The kitchen is supplied with new dishes and appliances and is stocked with all the spices we needed to cook up some great meals. The home is very close to the beach and train station (we took the Surfliner to San Diego for the day). There is plenty of parking with room for three cars on the driveway and it’s easy to access the freeway from Casa Mira Mar. One of my favorite features is the sky deck with stunning views of the mountains and water."

  • Fantastic Beachfront Vacation Home

"What a PERFECT place for our family reunion!! We LOVED it!! Christine was so helpful from start to finish, and always was quick to respond to questions. This lovely home is well maintained, clean and fully loaded with everything you could possibly need to make a beach stay comfortable and fun. The patio area is remarkable with a beautiful view of the ocean, and has a sand area for the little ones to play in, with a gate that latches (we used a padlock for it), so the kids can still be playing in the sand safely away from the water, when you want to relax and Bbq out back. Along with a grill, there is a fire-pit for roasting marshmallows and making s'mores. We rented the upper unit as well and had loads of room for our reunion. We had a great time catching tuna crabs, building sand castles and splashing in the water. The Dana Harbor Ocean Institute is right down the road where we explored the tide pools and had fun paddle-boarding, kayaking and swimming at Dana Point Baby Beach. The town is beautiful, with shopping, grocery stores, and even a Costco not far away which was a great place to buy food to feed our large family. I highly highly recommend staying here. It's an absolutely wonderful place. We plan on coming again!"

  • Keeps getting better!

"Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, AIR CONDITIONING went in! We love this beach home! Loved walking to the bagel shack and to watch fireworks off the pier. It's so comfortable and relaxing from the moment you walk in. The neighborhood is quiet, so it's perfect for your getaway. Thank you for offering such a great rental!"

  • Wonderful Experience!

"The place was clean, convenient, and the walk to the beach was short. We went to Disneyland and although the drive was approximately 35 minutes, it's was well worth not staying in the hustle of the city The area was clean. I walked to the beach alone at 0500. Everyone I happened to run into was friendly and I never felt threatened it worried. There was no shampoo in the room. . Other then that, it was great. The bed was soft, pillows were fluffy, everything worked. The house was clean and in good repair. I initially booked a smaller unit and when I called to upgrade the staff was very friendly and accommodating. There's nothing we'd have changed!!! Thank you, again, backside vacations! Always a wonderful experience when we book through you. We pride ourselves on keeping our properties in tip-top shape. Please help us to do so by letting us know if anything at this property needs to be repaired or replaced. The lid to the large frying pan. Aside from that I think it was all there."
