  • Pristine, Adorable Tiny House

"My husband and I are in our mid 50's traveling to California for our nephew's wedding. This was the perfect tiny house for our 5 day San Diego trip. Everything was exactly as described.....even the wine and terrific cookies. We were particularly impressed with how clean and updated the property was. It is tiny, but provided everything you need at a value price for up to two people. Be aware that if you are from the Midwest, as we are, you will have to get used to parking in San Diego. When we first saw that off street parking can be crowded at times, we were a little concerned. By the end of the first day, we realized that parking is a challenge everywhere you go in San Diego. It just goes with the territory. We managed to get on street parking within a block of the property every day. Most days it was just a few feet away. This is a minor inconvenience compared to all the advantages this rental has to offer. Also, if you are a cable TV junkie, better bring your Roku. They offer only basic local antenna TV plus WiFi cable. This wasn't much of an issue since we were constantly on the go and just used it for local weather while we were getting ready in the AM. There's just so much to see and do in San Diego, there was no time for hanging out in front of the tube. One thing we really enjoyed was the central location. University Heights is very centrally located, close to the zoo, Balboa Park and the airport. We were just a short drive from Old Town and Little Italy. The owners provided a great book of local attractions, maps and restaurants plus they provide an assortment of trial size toiletries, an iron and a blow dryer. We found the owners to be very responsive, just a quick text and any questions we had were quickly answered. The kitchen had all the basic necessities for reheating leftovers or making a simple breakfast. One final thing to consider about this booking is what a great value you get for the price. Lots of listings offer a low price, but when you factor in the added cleaning costs, you really are paying much more than you expect. This place only has a $20 cleaning fee. Plus there is a washer and dryer available just outside the door if you need to do a quick load. If you want to save a ton of money, but still stay in a clean, quiet central location, this is your best bet. Plus you get a taste of tiny house living. We will book there again on our next trip out."

  • The property is outstanding. A mini tropical oasis, restful, peaceful, beautiful.

"We were in San Diego for our son's wedding. There were 7 adults staying in the house which was perfect for us: large, spacious, plenty of seating areas and importantly for us a large dining table that would seat 8. The view from the dining room and deck is amazing. We were especially pleased that the 4th bedroom was equipped with adult twin beds and not bunk or juvenile beds. The kitchen was well equipped and there were two additional tables for eating. The house was perfect for entertaining out of town friends and family. The two weeks was wonderful for all of us. The location is great, easily accessible to shopping, points of interest, down town, the airport etc."

  • This condo was perfect! Great location, great amenities, and even your own designated parking spot!

"It has been 11 years since I have been back to San Diego, and staying at this condo was the best choice I could have made for my family. It was my husband and I along with our 2 boys (8 & 12). It's location is perfect: right on the beach, centrally located to attractions we wanted to visit, close to all kinds of local shops and restaurants, but not noisy at all. The beds and furniture were comfortable, the kitchen was adequately sized for our needs. Plenty of towels, sand chairs and beach supplies to use. We never got around to using the pool or hot tub but was nice that it was there. Loved that we had a designated and secure parking space in the parking area underneath the building! The view was absolutely breathtaking. Falling asleep to the crashing waves every night was heaven. Thank you, Dan, for allowing us to rent your condo. My family and I agree it was the best vacation we've had so far."

  • The house was beautiful! Clean and exactly like in the pictures.

"My wife and I along with our 2 yr old daughter and my parents, stayed at the Sunny South Mission Vacation home for 4 days. We had a great time! It was amazing being so close to the beach! Literally just 3 houses down! The home had everything we needed. We used the BBQ grill one night and ate outside on the patio. There is no other dining table other than a coffee table in the living room and 2 bar stools in the kitchen. It didn't matter because the weather was beautiful the whole time we were there! The kitchen was very nice! Granite countertops and soft-close cabinet doors! In the living room there is one sleeper couch a coffee table and one chair. The couch and chair were not very comfortable at all, but we didn't come to sit on the couch we came for the beach! Which is were we spent most of our time. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom had really good water pressure. It was nice having fans in all the rooms. The house does get hot! There were additional box fans in each closet! If your staying there over the weekend prepare for it to be loud! There is a frat house 2 doors down where they partied all night. The garage that is available was nice to have. There is little to no parrking. The garage fits one SMALL car or SUV. We had a Hyundai Veracruz and it barely fit! Overall we had a great time and really enjoyed the home! Four stars due to how loud the neighbors were."
