  • My son and I had a perfect stay!

"I love the fact that we were in a culturally diverse and interesting neighborhood. There was just a great energy and we were afforded an easy Metro ride to all the sites we needed to get to. Uber was also a backup for when we needed another option. Elizabeth was terrific."

  • Good apartment for families!

"This apartment worked out really well for us! We had the benefit of 2 queen beds in the same room (for families with young children who don't want to sleep in a different room), plus a small kitchen, and an extra room for my aunt who came with us. You do have to walk through the small bedroom (which also has the washer/dryer) to get to the bathroom, as other guests noted. Also, as per other reviews, we had problems with the washer/dryer taking forever (and we wished there had been better instructions), problems finding the keys to adjust the thermostat (which is in the hall), and some minor problems getting our questions answered from the person who helps with the apartment (it would have been nice to have received the wifi info over email, since the book with that info had been removed and placed on the first floor in the hallway - which we didn't discover until day 2). Other than those minor issues, the kitchen worked out great for a breakfast of eggs and/or cereal each day before we left, the proximity to a grocery store was a big plus (and cute restaurants right near by that we are sad we didn't get to visit). The neighborhood felt very safe - lots of people walking around. We did rent a car, which worked out well for us, though parking late at night was sometimes a challenge since you have to find a spot. (The permit, which you must arrange with the property manager and pay $20 for, only allows you to park in the neighborhood... there is no guaranteed spot.) It took us 20 min. to drive to the mall - and parking there was around $20 for the day. It gave us extra flexibility and worked out well for us since we were a group of 5. I would recommend this apartment, and I would stay there again. You can also talk to Lois about paying through paypal to avoid vrbo's new annoying fees - which I really appreciated."

  • Clean, comfortable, and perfect

"Elizabeth's apartment was perfect for the 4 weekdays I was in DC. It's a safe building in a generally family-oriented neighborhood and just about a 10 minute walk to Columbia Heights metro and all the shops nearby. The apartment itself was clean and well-provisioned. Everything I needed was there. Bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows,. There were a pile of clean towels to use. The kitchen had all the utensils and appliances you need. The small parking pad in the back of the building was perfect for leaving my car while I got around the city via subway. Communication via email and text message was fast and easy, and she was super-communicative throughout. Thanks for everything!"

  • Good DC location

"The location of this apartment was great. The apartment was clean and the bed very comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked. Location on the 3rd floor was not a problem. The apartment could have used an extra blanket and some pillows. The bathroom was very small and if one was a big man or very tall it would have been very uncomfortable. The floors are noisey (so luckily the apt is on the 3rd floor). We spent 3 nights at the apt and were woken up in the middle of the night on one of the nights because of people coming home and walking in the hall. Despite this we would go back if in DC again."
