  • I didn't think this existed anymore, but it does!

"This was my first time at Soul Happy. I had been looking for close to a year to try and find something that was old Florida, the old Florida i remembered as a child. My family lived in Pensacola in the 60's, dad was in the Navy. My experience when looking, was Condo's and Resorts with thousands of tourist. I did not want that. Soul Happy, turned out to be exactly what i was looking for and it was "big" dog friendly, hard to find in Florida! Me and my Luigi really enjoyed our stay. It still holds the old 50's cabinets, ect. The fenced in yard was an extra bonus! The deck with the swing was ideal for just my pooch and i to enjoy quite and private outside time. Great place to eat breakfast in the morning. Luigi took a bit to except the waves crashing on the shoreline, but once he got use to it, he loved it!! There are crabs in the evening that Luigi loved to chase, the funny part is, a small crabbed scared him so bad he jumped back so far. I got the best laugh!! He left those crabs alone after that! Luigi weighs 77 lbs and that small crab got the best of him. For myself, the quite, no stress time was so needed. The sunsets and sunrises were amazing! The people i met on the beach, those with and those without dogs, were so friendly. They were like long time friends. I could go on and on, but i think that's enough. One more thing, the shower in this house is great. Just the right amount of water pressure! I slept out on the sleeping porch and that bed is so comfortable! It was hard to leave. I will be back!"

  • Truly beautiful in every way

"Beautiful home, every detail considered, from dozens of beach towels to umbrellas to a huge table on the porch so that you can eat outside while looking at the water. My large family was able to spend quality time together without feeling cramped. Perfect. L"

  • Spectacular House. Clean, Comfortable, and decorated beautifully.

"We could not have asked for a nicer vacation home. We walked in and were amazed at just how nice it was. Better than the pictures as someone has mentioned before. The place was very clean. Furniture was clean and relaxing and the floors were spotless. No sand on the floor. Not one speck. Hard to do when the house sits RIGHT ON THE BEACH! Everything you need it there. Dishes, pots, pans, utensils, ziplock bags, can opener, wine stopper, storage containers, cutting boards, toaster, coffee pot, etc etc. You know how most places say "everything you need"...well this place has it. We packed light because of the washer/dryer amenities, but, we could have packed much lighter even. They have books to read, games, cards, shovels/pails, beach umbrellas, and lawn chairs. They provide flash lights for walking the beach at night, we used the several pair of binoculars provided for bird watching, and the 3 person canoe is a ton of fun. I would give a 10+ for the house! The beach is also great as you are just 30 steps from nice white sands. It is very natural, lots of "sea weed" washes up, and you share your sunning spot with many, many crabs. Pelicans and sea birds are in abundance to observe as well. Lots and Lots of fishing going on. As to the location. It is definitely not touristy. Very laid back, casual and southern. We had such a relaxing time as we found there was not much to do in the surrounding small towns. Not a bad thing, just don't expect to find a lot of entertainment besides the beach. We are from a small town so we fit right in! The only negative I like to point out is the water. It is very murky. It was more like swimming in a river than the gulf. The Ochlocknee River basin is not to far from this area and empties into the gulf as this point. That is the cause of the water conditions along this area I was told. Not a total deal breaker, but, we were hoping for the clear, blue waters of the gulf."

  • The Heavenly Sunrise was truly magical

"I don't remember what brought me to this area of Florida, but when I came, I immediately knew that this was a special place. There were white sand beaches, it felt peaceful and it was picturesque. I brought my wife to the area to see if she wanted to have our annual family vacation here and she agreed. I searched for properties that could accommodate our family of ten. I found this house and immediately I knew that I wanted to rent it. The house had a presence that impacted me, it stood high, almost soaring over the other houses in the area. It was very pretty. I rented the house and brought my family here; from Rhode Island, Pennsylvania , New Jersey and central Florida. The house we found to be in great condition, comfortable and with all the amenities that my family needed for a beach vacation. We had a great time, lazy days at the beach, family dinners every day at the house. I polled my family as to where they would like to vacation next year, and they agreed that it should be right here, in this house. Our thanks to the owner Sharon for sharing this beautiful home with my family."
