  • Wow! Found our vacation house for years to come!

"This was the first house my family has rented, and were a bit nervous about the whole process. Jim, the owner, took the time to email and call us and answer any and all our questions. The rental process went very smoothly. The pictures don't lie! This house was just as the pictures look on the website (no unpleasant surprises). Ok, the house is actually better than the pictures. House - the house is open concept at it's best. The living room, dinning room and kitchen are one big room, yet cleverly separated (this is where everyone hung out when inside and there was plenty of seating). There is also a big room upstairs that's another great place to hang out (this is where our kids hung out with each other). The house has such an open feeling to it with all the windows. On one side you look out into the bay (where dolphins could be seen every morning) and on the other side you're looking at the ocean. The bedrooms are decent size and no one felt crowded (we had six kids with us). Bathrooms were roomy (enough for mom to change and bath/shower kids with another kid brushing their teeth). The front deck (facing ocean) is like a room itself. Lots of conversation/bonding took place on it. The back deck was used to view the bay. The house is next to other houses, but you couldn't tell when you were in the house (quiet neighborhood). House was very clean and comfortable. Beach - Literally footsteps away. We felt like we had our own private beach. You could look down yonder and see a group of people that was a public beach, but no one was near us. This was nice for we could let the kids spread out on the beach with their stuff/toys and not worry about anyone taking anything. There were crabs, starfish, fish, hermit crabs, and such that could be found during the day. Yet not too many that any of the kids were afraid to swim in the ocean. At night the kids liked to walk the beach with a flashlight and see all the fiddle crabs - like all hundreds of them! We found shells, built sand castles, took walks, flew kites, and just hung out on the beach. The first night at the house, while sitting out on the beach watching the sun set, my husband asked me, "How much do you think Jim wants for the place?" Needless to stay, we love the house! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and reluctantly recommend it to others (who may take it the week we want to come back :) Seriously, this house is a treasure."

  • Very clean, spacious and comfortable home

"We were 2 families of 4 and fit comfortably. Loved the open floorplan and covered deck. Open deck at night allowed for great star gazing. A/C was plenty strong. There is special storage room for beach umbrellas, chairs, and toys. Overall house is well designed and maintained. Highly recommended."

  • Great place!

"We loved the house! Very nice! It is in a secluded area but close to so many things you can do. We visited the parks, St. George Island, Wakulla Springs for a fabulous boat ride though the area where they shot many Tarzan movies, We went to the Stone Crab Festival in St. Marks and Apalachicola for shopping and visiting historic homes. There is lots of history all around you including a World War II museum. PLUS we visited Mission San Luis in Tallahassee. Amazing place!!! It’s not far at all. The location is perfect. The house is cozy and perfect for relaxing. We watched movies from the collection at the house. We plan to return and we highly recommend it."

  • Idyllic respite from reality!

"We had an amazing 3 nights at this lovely home. Please, please if you are visiting FSU and you want to experience a beach get away, head 45 min south to this property on a secret called Alligator Point. The bay is calm, the mullet fishermen are local treasures and the views from this home are stunning. Nothing is lacking, and the layout is perfect for sunrise, sunset and everything In between. The owners must be interested in food as their gas stove and oven attest and the grill was ready for our steaks. We had contacts for fresh shrimp, the house has bikes, a kayak and chairs for the beach. We shopped for staples at the Publix in Tallahassee and did not leave for two of the three nights. It was too comfortable! But, 40 minutes away in apalachacola we found boss oysters, st George island and adventures worth revisiting. A wonderful visit and highly recommended! Thanks Arnold family!"
