  • I didn't think this existed anymore, but it does!

"This was my first time at Soul Happy. I had been looking for close to a year to try and find something that was old Florida, the old Florida i remembered as a child. My family lived in Pensacola in the 60's, dad was in the Navy. My experience when looking, was Condo's and Resorts with thousands of tourist. I did not want that. Soul Happy, turned out to be exactly what i was looking for and it was "big" dog friendly, hard to find in Florida! Me and my Luigi really enjoyed our stay. It still holds the old 50's cabinets, ect. The fenced in yard was an extra bonus! The deck with the swing was ideal for just my pooch and i to enjoy quite and private outside time. Great place to eat breakfast in the morning. Luigi took a bit to except the waves crashing on the shoreline, but once he got use to it, he loved it!! There are crabs in the evening that Luigi loved to chase, the funny part is, a small crabbed scared him so bad he jumped back so far. I got the best laugh!! He left those crabs alone after that! Luigi weighs 77 lbs and that small crab got the best of him. For myself, the quite, no stress time was so needed. The sunsets and sunrises were amazing! The people i met on the beach, those with and those without dogs, were so friendly. They were like long time friends. I could go on and on, but i think that's enough. One more thing, the shower in this house is great. Just the right amount of water pressure! I slept out on the sleeping porch and that bed is so comfortable! It was hard to leave. I will be back!"

  • Wow! Found our vacation house for years to come!

"This was the first house my family has rented, and were a bit nervous about the whole process. Jim, the owner, took the time to email and call us and answer any and all our questions. The rental process went very smoothly. The pictures don't lie! This house was just as the pictures look on the website (no unpleasant surprises). Ok, the house is actually better than the pictures. House - the house is open concept at it's best. The living room, dinning room and kitchen are one big room, yet cleverly separated (this is where everyone hung out when inside and there was plenty of seating). There is also a big room upstairs that's another great place to hang out (this is where our kids hung out with each other). The house has such an open feeling to it with all the windows. On one side you look out into the bay (where dolphins could be seen every morning) and on the other side you're looking at the ocean. The bedrooms are decent size and no one felt crowded (we had six kids with us). Bathrooms were roomy (enough for mom to change and bath/shower kids with another kid brushing their teeth). The front deck (facing ocean) is like a room itself. Lots of conversation/bonding took place on it. The back deck was used to view the bay. The house is next to other houses, but you couldn't tell when you were in the house (quiet neighborhood). House was very clean and comfortable. Beach - Literally footsteps away. We felt like we had our own private beach. You could look down yonder and see a group of people that was a public beach, but no one was near us. This was nice for we could let the kids spread out on the beach with their stuff/toys and not worry about anyone taking anything. There were crabs, starfish, fish, hermit crabs, and such that could be found during the day. Yet not too many that any of the kids were afraid to swim in the ocean. At night the kids liked to walk the beach with a flashlight and see all the fiddle crabs - like all hundreds of them! We found shells, built sand castles, took walks, flew kites, and just hung out on the beach. The first night at the house, while sitting out on the beach watching the sun set, my husband asked me, "How much do you think Jim wants for the place?" Needless to stay, we love the house! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and reluctantly recommend it to others (who may take it the week we want to come back :) Seriously, this house is a treasure."

  • Truly beautiful in every way

"Beautiful home, every detail considered, from dozens of beach towels to umbrellas to a huge table on the porch so that you can eat outside while looking at the water. My large family was able to spend quality time together without feeling cramped. Perfect. L"

  • Best Rental Ever

"Barbara...thank you so much. We loved the place. Kitchen had every pot and pan ever needed to include huge seafood steamer. Place was rustic and Charming especially nice for beach house so we could enjoy without fear of kids (5, 6 and 7) breaking expensive stuff...of course nothing was broken. We also rented pool house for the extra room...sleeping porch leaked a tiny bit but no problem. Lots of towels and linens in both. Tons of dishes. Almost private beach with walkway to and outdoor shower. We saw some dolphins swimming...bonus. bought jumbo shrimp to cook at My Way seafood place.. super good price. Bring everything u need from Tallahassee or closest grocery store is in Panacea. This place was so nice we might come back even though we all now live in Denver!!! Thank you again so much. The most reasonably priced and great Beach House ever.....not 5 star for 5 star snobs but 10 star for everyday people who want the beach, stars, views, fishing, seclusion and a great kitchen to cook fantastic feasts. We also cleaned/tidied up the countertop ice maker as it needed some loving!"
