The Spotted Grouper is a delightful secluded Florida beach bungalow surrounded by twisted Sand Live Oaks. We are located on Bald Point beside Alligator Point, FL in a small, quiet beach neighborhood along the Forgotten Coast, surrounded by Bald Point State Park.
The house is 100 yards from the Gulf - to get there just walk down Grouper Street to the water-there are no streets to cross. It is a very secluded natural beach with lots of sea life where you can enjoy all the beauty of nature. You have gulf views from the living room as well as the porch and patio and the sound of the ocean can lull you to sleep at night. The fishing is fantastic, as are the local restaurants and seafood markets. The house is at ground level so you don't have stairs to climb which makes it very convenient for carrying suitcases and groceries into the home. It sleeps 6 with 1 queen bed and 1 double bed and also has a sleeper sofa in the LR.
We are 45 miles south of Tallahassee, 340 miles due south of Atlanta. The Spotted Grouper makes a perfect getaway if you like a quiet area that DOESN'T have a crowded beach with abundant wildlife and nature reminiscent of "Old Florida".

We had a wonderful stay at the Spotted Grouper. The cottage is quiet and peaceful, and the sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico were beautiful. We enjoyed walking on the beach, collecting shells, and really appreciated how close to nature the area is — including an unexpected bear sighting!We stayed in December, which was a great time to visit: cool and chilly mornings and evenings, with sunny, comfortably warm days. I traveled from Annapolis with my mom, and the trip was especially meaningful because we were visiting my son, who stayed with us. The space was perfect for spending time together and cooking meals as a family.The hostess was great — gracious and accommodating to our needs. The cottage was clean and inviting. We would absolutely stay here again and will definitely return when we’re in town visiting my son.

The house was very clean and comfortable and Sheree's instructions were very thorough The on-line description was quote accurate. We got into the cottage with no problem.. The kitchen was well-equipped though we sometimes had trouble finding things. As we are not used to satellite TV, we had trouble figuring out how to use the remote, but we finally figured it out. We loved the peace and quiet. We hope we can come back some time.

Amazing! I was looking for something less touristy and right on the beach. This cute cottage met all of our expectations! Sunrise and sunset were my absolute favorites!!

The retro/beach themes of the house were cool. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. Loved the screened in porch. Tides affected beach access at the end of the street, but there are other public beach access available.

This was our second trip to The Spotted Grouper and we booked for next year while we were still there. This cottage has all you need in amenities and is just steps from a quiet secluded beach. It will always be my first choice.

Great getaway!

Cute, quaint cottage a short walk to the beach. We had a wonderful time. Rental was well equipped. Owner very attentive. The AC went out at 7pm, called the owner and she had a repairman there within the hour. Hope to visit again soon!

Grandbabies beach trips.

First trip for the grandbabies. The beach was close and no one else was on the beach except us. The house was cozy and had everything we needed. Owner responded quickly with any questions i had. Very nice stay.

Everything and more!

The Spotted Grouper provided the perfect get away! The bungalow is spotlessly clean, has everthing one could possibly need to feel at home, well positioned in a quiet friendly neighborhood, and located in and near a nature preserve area. We highly recommend staying here. We explored the natural areas, including the gulf in a 16' canoe. So much wildlife to enjoy. Fishing, bird watching, cooking and enjoying each others company filled our days. Never turned on the tv or radio. A total escape from the rat race! We enjoyed the outdoor shower, grilled on the Weber, and relaxed in the screen porch. We hope to return next year. Sheree, the owner, was wonderful to work with. She was so kind and helpful. She even gave us fishing bait suggestions.

Clean, cute, and close to the beach! Good restaurants if you don’t want to cook. Enough space for all of us and a tv in every room which we hardly turned on until nighttime. Would reccomend

Secluded beachfront oasis

This place is truly magical! You can hear the waves crashing on the shore from the porch and an unspoiled, secluded beach is just a few steps away. Clean and fully stocked, Sheree’s place is phenomenal. We can’t wait to come back!

Perfect Hideaway

If you are looking for a secluded and quiet environment but with the charm of old Florida, this is your place. All the amenities you want are on site and it’s a close enough drive to other interests and activities. We loved it.

Cleanest Beach Bungalow in Florida!

This may have been the cleanest property we have ever stayed in!! We loved the old Florida charm of the home with a great view of the gulf! Within walking distance to the small beach!

Forgotten Coast Beauty

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at the Spotted Grouper. It never disappoints . We absolutely adore this place every time we visit. If you are looking for peace, tranquility , and the beauty of nature surrounding you then book this place. This truly is a hidden treasure on the forgotten coast. You are almost always the only ones on the beach. The wildlife is stunning. Our favorites are around 7PM when the sandbars start to form & you can walkout & collect all sorts of treasures. To Do: 1) Watch sunrise 2) Relax 3) Rest 4) Watch sunset 5) Repeat 1-4 daily Sheree is amazing to work with. Thank you for sharing your treasure with us! We will definitely be back again.
