"We had a great time staying here, wish we could afford to stay for a year! The pool area is amazing, nothing beats swimming and stepping one foot to the beach to jump into the ocean. Owner was easy to work with and fast to respond to our needs if a problem occurred."

  • Paradise on Lido

"This past October I was fortunate enough to spend a month on Lido Key at the Ringling Retreat. Sarasota has always been my go-to vacation spot. I love the shops on St. Armand's and Lido Beach. Other activities such as the Ringling Art Museum are only a short drive away. I was especially pleased with this year's choice of places to stay. I researched online numerous hotels and motels, but decided on the Ringling Retreat. It's a house made up of several suites, and I was lucky enough to get a one bedroom. The Retreat was quiet and convenient to all the local action. Such a homey atmosphere to come back to every evening after running myself ragged, cramming all Sarasota had to offer in a month's time. I really lucked out at the Ringling! I could be as active as I wanted to be or just sit back and relax. The unit came with a small kitchen, full stove and refrigerator, table and chairs, living room with couch and chairs, TV and numerous books, maps, things to do in the area, so I could plan my day accordingly, also a comfortable queen-sized bed, and a bathroom with shower, plus a beach chair. There are two requests I have while traveling, a recliner for my bad back and a good bed with soft pillows, and I was lucky enough to get both! And an added bonus was that I never heard a peep out of the neighbors. In fact, I didn't know I had neighbors until I met them. Management was terrific. I met Mary Anne and her husband, lovely people and so accommodating. On my first night, I realized she'd left me a week's worth of fruit, a gallon jug of water, and a 6 pack of coke (an item I requested beforehand) with a nice note welcoming me. Did I mention there's a lap pool nearby for swimming at $5.00 per day. That's if you get tired of the beach! I could go on and on about my Sarasota. It's just a beautiful area and known for its pristine beaches, world class shopping, dining, and entertainment venues. Being able to enjoy Sarasota was made even more wonderful by Mary Anne and my stay at the Ringling Retreat. I highly recommend the Retreat to all, young and retired. It's a beautiful escape in a beautiful city. Did I mention that the driveway was covered in shells! (One quick note, I was there during a hurricane. Sarasota fared well, and I wasn't afraid at all. Mary Anne checked on me and even planned an evacuation had the storm gotten worse.). Look into renting the Ringling Retreat for your next vacation. You won't be disappointed!"

  • Cozy home in Lido Key has all you need within walking distance of Lido Beach and St. Armand's Circle

"This home is a delightful hideaway to stay at if your wanting to be near St. Armand's Circle, Lido Beach, the park at the end of the Key, or a short drive from Sarasota, or Longboat Key. We were impressed with how clean and well appointed the home was, including 2 full bathrooms, a well stocked kitchen (including both a coffee maker and a Keurig), dishwasher, laundry washer and dryer, heat producing electric fireplace, functional office with a Fax and printer, and TV's in all the rooms hooked to a DVD player. The stand out was the Lanai at the back of the house. It's actually bigger than the house itself, fully screened in and enclosed, with a roof over the porch lounge area, a heated pool, a wet bar, and more than enough seating if you have family or guests over. On top of that there's another garden like area with a fire pit for even more eating and socializing next to it. Around all of this is a 6 foot wall for privacy. The street it's near is mostly quiet with slow moving traffic. The home has 2 areas for parking. One advantage to it's location is that it's right on a walkway that leads up into St. Armand's Circle (the sidewalk mostly winds thru a median, with trees and little bridges, making it nice to travel on), or down to Lido Key Park on the southernmost tip. It's just a couple of blocks walk to Lido Beach. If your feeling up to a longer walk or a 6 mile run, going from end to end on the key, or over the John Ringling Boulevard Bridge into Sarasota and back, will work nicely. We had a wonderful time, and this home was an important part of that. Rolayne and Gary went the extra mile and had a Christmas Tree w/lights, Stockings, cookies and seasonal coffee, making for a very Happy Holiday."
