"My husband and I spent our honeymoon here recently. We had such a memorable time. The house and all of its convenience was a huge part of it. It was close to everything we wanted to do and so relaxing to come back to. Saved us money with having all the snorkeling gear and ice chests. Very spacious and clean. We want to come back with the whole family next time and will definitely stay here !!!"

  • Great Location

"Perfect relaxing retreat. Location is perfect, a short walk to Richardson Beach Park which is the best beach around (go behind the park building to the right for a great black sand beach and swimming/snorkeling spot). Although there are many other beach parks nearby worth checking out. The house is in the jungle just off of the busy main road, making it very peaceful but still with ocean views and sounds. The Lanai was perfect with the views and sounds, and was where we spent most of the time. We had toddlers, but the lanai was completely fenced in, so we could let them run around the lanai while they searched for geckos! We had been to Hilo before, but keep in mind that this is not a touristy resort area. Very local old time Hawaii feel, which is how we like it! But it is still close to the volcano, waterfalls, hiking, beaches, snorkeling, and great food a short drive away in downtown Hilo. Perfect relaxing location!"

  • Relaxing, and comfortable

"We bump into Bob when we reached, and he helped us with the luggage, very grateful as we bought too many local fruits from the supermarket! The property and the surrounding is wonderful ....If you're not sure about the rules, Sandy has small notes attached everywhere to remind you :). We have enjoyed our leisure days there just roaming to the Bay, catching people perform nice surfing, locals were very friendly to greet us whenever we saw them ..... I think we didn't realize it is Sandy who we talked to when we purchase the 2 very best ice cream from the Wood Gallery! The area is quite remote, prepare food before you come in ....but if you don't, Hilo is just 25 minutes drive away. We often have our meals outside the lanai, simple enjoying the breath from the ocean, and the surrounding trees. Thanks again to Bob and Sandy for having us as guests for your complete equipped house. We sure hope to drop by to say Aloha the next time we visit Big Island. Aloha and Mahalo!"

  • Beautiful and peaceful place to stay.

"We stayed for nine nights. The house was perfect for our needs. The bugs are really crazy in the evenings and seem to find ways inside the house. We would just watch a movie in the evening with the lights out and that seemed to solve the bug problem. There is no air conditioning in the house but it really doesn't need one. A few evenings it was a little warm but nothing unbearable. You just want to make sure you have some loose comfy clothes to lounge around the house in. The washer and dryer were a huge blessing on such a long trip. The kitchen has everything you need. If you plan on using the grill make sure you use bug spray. The only time we had problems with bugs outside was when we grilled out. We would definitely stay again."
