  • Nice property, fantastic location!

"I stayed in this property with my husband and two elementary school-aged children. The Kona Reef is one of the best-located condos if you want to be able to walk into town for dinner. The pool is very nice, and there's a little beach next door that's perfect for playing. (Surf was too high for the kids to swim there during our stay.) We also used the barbecues in the pool area, which worked well and I saw being cleaned first thing every morning. Open the door to the lanai and you have a beautiful ocean view and can hear the waves breaking. The condo itself was well supplied for our stay. The kids slept on a pull-out in the living room. We had enough room, but it was a bit tight in the living room because of my underwater camera gear. A family with teenagers would probably find the bathroom a bit tight too."

  • Family Summer vacation

"I recently had a vacation with my family in Kona for a family Reunion, and stayed on this unit (Condo) for two weeks.. We really liked it, there's a lot space, good living room and the kitchen is really good for cooking.. it's a home away from home. It's located near town if you decided to walk around and see the beach park for sightseeing."

  • Perfect time

"My husband and I spent 6 wonderful days here and don't regret the decision to choose this condo as our Kona, Hawaii get away. We found everything we could ever need to make our time here as easy and comfortable as possible. Everything you could ever need to make a great meal was right there and handy in the well equipped kitchen. The bed was very comfortable and we were able to adjust to the change quickly. I loved having our breakfasts out on the Lanai every morning and then stroll through the gardens with my morning coffee and checking out the beach. It was always a very quiet and restful time. The owners provided lots of helpful information and suggestions to make the most of our vacation. They were always readily available for us via email or phone if we had any questions or requests. We loved the sound of the ocean as it lulled us to sleep every night. The pools and beach at Casa de Emdeko were a pleasure to come back to each day of exploring. Everyone we met there were most kind and helpful to us. It definitely is a place I would want to come back to if I come back to the Kona area of Hawaii again and would recommend it to others that are looking to find a place with all the comforts of home plus all the stuff that makes a Hawaiian vacation memorable. Aloha and Mahalo!"

  • A great place for a family vacation..

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We held a family get together with our adult children and friends. This house was a great place to have as home base, especially for family meals and just hanging out. I had wanted to be right on the beach, but came to appreciate the easy access to the highway, plus 10 minute drive to KTA. The large lanai were very nice for morning Pilates, watching the sunset, and watching the fireworks across Kona on New Years Eve. As a Hawaiian style home most of the rooms were naturally cooled and we were entertained by the geckos that wander thru. We really valued that the home had pretty much every thing we wished for (coolers, snorkeling and beach gear, plenty of beach towels, binoculars, books and games, etc). Heck, it even had a massage chair which was great after getting off the long flight from the mainland. The pool was nice for relaxing when we didn't quite feel like going to the beach just yet. We had the opportunity to meet the owners (Kathy and Bob) and they are very nice people. David was our Kona Coast Vacations concierge and hooked us up for snorkeling at Captain Cook, swimming with the dolphins, a luau, and pulled off some magic when we decided at the last minute to go night snorkeling with the manta rays."
