  • Excellent experience and beautiful condo!!!

"Aloha Greg! We had an absolutely wonderful experience staying at your condo. The view of the ocean is exactly as depicted in your photos. The bedroom and bathrooms were very clean and decorated beautifully. The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked with essentials. For us, the wifi connectivity was a big hit as we still had to do a little work while vacationing. We would recommend this condo to anyone who's looking for an excellent place to vacation. Thanks for an awesome experience."

  • Perfect for Our University Student Group Spending a Week on the Big Island

"Our university group stayed at the Lako house to accommodate our group of 21 while we were studying geography on the Big Island. The location was great -- not too far from the local shopping where we bought groceries, etc. Our students loved the house -- it gave them a chance to bond while the professors stayed in the ohana suite. We are already working on our reservation for next year. Great staff, beautiful home, and a few minutes from the ocean."

  • A little taste of paradise @ Kona Reef

"My wife and I stayed at Alex and Michelle Duncan’s condo in Kona at Kona Reef from July 15, 2016 to July 23, 2016. The condo was perfect. It was clean, it had everything one would need on a vacation and we wanted for nothing. The view from the 2nd. Level lanai is heavenly. The pool, hot tub and covered gas grills are all conveniently located to the condo unit. Access was very good, we only had six – (6) steps up or down from the parking lot / garage area. The condo unit is centrally located within walking distance of downtown Kona. The farmer’s market has lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. We typically walked downtown a couple times per day. There are nice gift and souvenir shops, and the walk along the sea wall is just breath taking. There are plenty of nice restaurants if you don’t want to cook. We enjoyed Lava Java, Bongo Ben’s, Bubba Gump’s, ands Outback restaurants. All were reasonably priced, clean and the food was good. All the tenants were quiet and the entire stay was wonderful. Alex has a notebook with all the best eating places, their menus, and directions on how to get there. In addition, there is information about the locations of grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations, medical facilities, etc. We highly recommend this condo unit at Kona Reef to anyone wanting to experience a little taste of paradise."

  • Very nice, centrally located lovely home with BEAUTIFUL lanai!

"We stayed in the Kona Sunset House for 2 full weeks as a family of 5 (including three grown teenagers). The home was very lovely and clean, and in a nice quiet neighborhood. We liked it's central location in the Kona area that was close to everything on that side of the island, without being too close to the tourist areas. The lanai was hands down the best part of the home. We also liked having the pool - the weather was a little muggy when we were visiting, so was nice to cool off in the pool at the end of an exploration day. There is so much to see and do. But on the west side of the island, Kona Sunset House made easy to get to our highlight attractions: 1. Kayaking to Captain Cook monument and snorkeling in the bay - waters were crystal clear and beautiful fish! 2. Quinns for dinner and 808 Grinds Cafe for breakfast 3. Around the Hwy 19 90/91 mile marker is the turnoff to Black Sands Beach (lovely black sand and a Queens bath) and Makalawena Beach (beautiful water and turtle sightings!) - both great to see! 4. Farmers Markets in town 5. Place of Refuge Very nice and spacious home we would definitely stay in again should our travels find us back on the Big Island. Many thanks again for a wonderful home to help make our vacation memorable! The Isbell Family"
