  • Makena Surf F304

"Outstanding condo, location, amenities. Makena F304 is oceanfront with sweeping 180 degree views. The unit itself is recently updated with a fully stocked kitchen and new appliances. Beds and linen are high-end, very comfortable. Makena Surf sits on two of the best local beaches with snorkeling right off the beach. A couple of days ago we saw six turtles in the space of about 20 minutes. Will be back!"

  • First time stay at Makena Surf

"My husband and I stayed at this property for 8 nights and enjoyed it very much. The condo is fully furnished with working appliances and comfortable, clean beds and furniture. The housekeeping staff did a great job and there were always plenty of fresh clean towels. Beds changed mid stay. The beach is beautiful, easily accessible and very uncrowded! I especially enjoyed the clean, well maintained swimming pool just out side the front door and the lush, mature landscaping with lots of trees, flowers, and tropical birds. The property staff working the grounds were very friendly and courteous and much quieter than similar staff at other condo properties we've stayed at. Really appreciated the "low noise" leaf blowers! This is a quiet property away from the big hotels and other condominium properties in Wailea. The downside for some would be that you must drive for any restaurants, shopping or other services."

  • Magical Maui Vacation Rental

"My wife and I have rented Makena Cottage a couple of times, and it's really incredible. Sea turtles graze on the rocks below the lanai in the evenings. During whale season you can spend your mornings on the lanai sipping coffee and evening sipping wine, watching dozens of humpbacks breaching, tail-slapping, and pectoral fin-slapping. The snorkeling just for the fish in the cove is superb, but if you snorkel just beyond the rock reef you can hear the whales singing—blew me away the first time I heard it. It used to be priced such that it was a push renting the cottage vs a bland hotel room at one of the mega-resorts—affordable for a teacher and a biologist. Alas, with popularity comes booked-out schedules and higher prices. Fondest of memories, though."

  • Perfect Location, Amazing Views, Fantastic Condo!

"We spent five nights during our spring break at the Makena Surf condo and loved every minute of it. The pictures are a great representation, but don't really do justice to this gorgeous view. I enjoyed having my Kona coffee out on the patio each morning to the sound of the surf and the stunning view across the bay. The condo is well appointed and missing almost nothing (boogie boards might be nice; we purchased a few ourselves at the store). The office lends tennis racquets out to those who want to play but didn't bring them along, which was fun for our family. Beds are very comfortable and we slept soundly. The absolute highlight of this location for us is the amazing snorkeling. We paid for an excursion that went out to Molokini, but honestly it wasn't really necessary. There were many turtles every time we snorkeled right at the south end of our beach, and even more around the point, along with countless colorful fish. You could also hear the whales underwater. It was really a treat! Being away from the heavily trafficked and touristy parts of the island was a big plus for us. It was fun to visit Lahaina or go for ice cream at Lappert's in Wailea, but we liked being away from the hustle and bustle of those areas yet still easily accessible to them. Beautiful hiking is nearby just past Makena along the lava fields and oceanfront, where the road ends. Communication from the team at Alii Resorts was timely and complete and we didn't have a single issue. Would happily recommend this place!"
