  • Perfect Condo in a Perfect Location

"My husband and I along with my son and 11 year old granddaughter stayed for 8 nights in this fantastic condo. The condo itself is very nicely furnished and comfortable, especially the beds and pillows. The kitchen is well stocked with any small appliance you would need and bar ware and spices. We found the location to be absolutely perfect. It is very quiet and uncrowded (at least when we were there). The views from the lanai are incredible. You can see all the sea turtles playing and feeding in the rocks that are right in front of the condo. The beach is fantastic. When you have some surf, the boogie boarding is great (my granddaughter had a blast). And when the surf is calm, you can snorkel right from the beach and swim with the turtles. You don't even have to snorkel to see the turtles. They swim all the time right off the beach and feed off the rocks. Also, beach was NEVER crowded.Good restaurants close by in Wailea and Kihei as well as supermarkets. Loved our stay here and did not want to leave. Very beautiful and safe location. Hope we can make it back sometime."

  • Whales cavorting offshore! Need we say more?

"Makena Surf is a super location to watch whales and snorkel. Far from the bustle of Lahaina. The lanai facing the ocean gives you views of Molokini off in the distance. Kitchen is very well equipped with beautiful counters and cupboards. Dish soap, paper towels, coffee, and a welcome basket of local treats! Everything you need to enjoy Maui -- gas grill, boogie boards, noodles, beach chairs, beach mats, beach towels. Literally, steps from the beach and snorkeling where turtles are frequently seen. Showers to rinse off sand and salt. Other amenities include pool and hot tub, tennis courts and herb garden. Minutes from fine dining at Longhis, great ice cream at Lapperts, Humunumu (you know that little state fish...), quick food at several places. Drive south 5 minutes and snorkel at Makena State Park (a protected natural area) to see every fish imaginable. We caught a glimpse of an octopus today! Hint for newbies: avoid sunburn by wearing a rash guard shirt and long yoga shorts when snorkeling."

  • Perfect Maui retreat

"We were hoping for a beautiful place to relax, snorkel, and enjoy the view for a week's vacation, and this exceeded our expectations. The pictures are accurate and the view is amazing right from the lanai and all the windows. The pool and hot tub are right at the foot of the condo steps, and the beach is just a very short walk away. The property is immaculate, well-cared for, and Ali'i Resorts are professional and a pleasure to work with. We called them upon arrival, and Greg met us promptly and welcomed us with helpful information. The daily housekeeping people were friendly and efficient and kept the condo in great shape. There were a few units being remodeled in the building, but the noise was never very loud (we were on the beach most of the time anyway). And yes, a highlight was being right at "Turtle Town"! We saw large and small turtles out in front all day long. They don't seem bothered at all by snorkelers and were floating and being cleaned by smaller fish. Other snorkeling boats came every day too but the water and beach were not crowded. We had a wonderful time and are glad we chose to stay here, especially at the discounted rate during remodeling. (You definitely need a car as you are far away from commercial areas for restaurants and other activities.)"
