  • The Perfect Maui Experience

"This was out first time to visit Maui and we had the most amazing experience staying at the Kuleana Resort. We were in town for a wedding at the Ritz Carlton and spent a great deal of time there as well so we had the opportunity to compare the experiences. People that stayed at the Ritz came to our condo to hang out. It was so well appointed! From beach chairs to snorkel gear to bug spray to a well stocked kitchen to CD guides for the road to Hana, Jerry has thought of everything. We saved so much money compared to our friends at the Ritz because they were charged for every little thing. Our little condo provided it all. The view is just spectacular. Waking up to the ocean crashing right outside your door is not something you should miss in Maui. Our Lanai was private and the sunsets were beautiful. Swimming alongside the visiting turtles daily was the most wonderful treat. I felt so priveleged to be staying somewhere that had that kind of access to these huge magnificent creatures. The location was perfect for us. We were in spitting distance of Kaanapali Beach/Whaler's Village, Napili, Slaughterhouse Beach (which was by FAR our favorite) and the amazing snorkeling at Honolua Bay. The staff was helpful even though they are not directly affiliated with our condo. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. The bed was comfortable. The parking lot and grounds felt safe and you felt a wonderful sense of community. We visited the Sheraton while we were there and people just looked crammed into a feeding trough. We had lots of room and the beach we never crowded. We LOVED it and definitely plan to stay there again."

  • Breathtaking views

"We stayed for a week and are just now overcoming jet lag from our return home. I wanted to write a review before I forget! This location is better than we anticipated! It is the closest thing to paradise we have every experienced. Beautiful views right from our patio. We didn't have to search and search for the beauty of the island! Every sunset was different, based on clouds of the day. We could watch each one right from the property with no obstructions. The sea turtles were right off our beach from day one and almost every day, unless the waves were up (as they were on our last couple days). You could snorkel and swim close and get good pictures. The condo itself was clean, nothing fancy, but that is all we expected and/or desired. If you are looking for a place to experience the beauty of God's creation and not worried about a 5 star modern hotel room, this is the place for you. Simply a vacation we will never forget!"

  • Nice Condo, Horrible Pool

"We just returned from a week stay at the Paki Maui. The condo is very nice, although no A/C, if you open up the sliders and have all the fans on, it is very pleasant. The view is just as posted on the VRBO website. Good location, close to shopping and nice beaches. I see why the owner chose to put the "swinging doors" in the master bathroom area for privacy, but they are a little cumbersome and noisy if you don't go slow and cautiously. We were pleasantly surprised to find boogie boards in the closet as well as snorkeling gear. We did not snorkel but did use the boogie boards once. It was also nice that they had a little stackable washer/dryer in the unit. The one down side I feel I must mention here is the horrendous condition of the pool. I know, you come to Hawaii to go to the beach, but with kids, you also need a nice pool for after the beach! I cannot believe that all of the owners at the Paki Maui, who I am sure are paying significant HOA dues do not insist that management fix and/or re-do the pool ASAP. The pool has small tiles for the surface and so many of them are missing, it is not only an eyesore, it is dangerous! On the step alone, I hurt my foot just trying to enter the water. Overall, this is a nice condo with a great view in a good location."
