  • Great place to stay!

"My dad and I stayed here for 5 nights. I used the main bedroom and my dad used the pull out couch (double or maybe a queen bed). Both were comfortable. Great place to stay. Close enough to French quarter to walk or bike ride (2 miles) and lots to see and do in this ward itself as well. Walks through Crescent Park and Elizabeth's on the corner were the highlights in the immediate vicinity. I had fun using the bike that came with the house for a few days for my commute to the conference I was attending. I would stay here again. Clean. Comfortable."

  • Lake Getaway Close to it All

"I'm a native New Orleanian who moved away years ago. I wanted to have a vacation back home with my husband and kids, and this was the perfect place for it. For me, the best thing about the condo was the location. It's right on the lake (that being Lake Pontchartrain), in Bucktown, a good hometown neighborhood just over the Orleans parish line (meaning right on the edge of the city limits). There are some really good local seafood restaurants and markets in the neighborhood (R&O's, Deanie's), and within a 5-10 minute drive of the condo (Landry's, The Blue Crab). There are also walking and bike paths right across the street, as well as Lakeshore Drive and the marina just a few minutes away- perfect for a sunset drive, walk or sail on the lake. The condo itself has lovely garden landscaping with palm trees and native plants, as well as a pool, so you can relax and beat the New Orleans summer heat. There is also a grill and a cabana house for guests' use. You feel like you can really get away from it all and be in a relaxing setting, but you're also close to it all: First off, there are all the amenities you could wish for in the neighborhood: grocery stores, drug stores, restaurants, etc. Secondly, you're just off Pontchartrain Blvd/ West End Blvd which takes you to I-10 and to most major sites and parade routes in 15-20 minutes. So you have the best of both worlds: a retreat on the lake and a convenient location. The condo has a gated covered parking area and is in a safe neighborhood. It's clean, comfortable and very tastefully decorated. The balcony has a lovely view of the pool and landscaping and a bit of the lake. The owner went to great lengths to make sure we had everything we needed to feel at home. He greeted us personally and helped us get settled in. That was real hospitality! We are a family of four, and our two children- elementary school age- slept comfortably on the large sofas and chaise lounge in the living room. We enjoyed our time here so much, and we'll definitely make this our home away from home whenever we're back 'home' in New Orleans!"

  • JazzFest Annual Outing!

"JazzFest this year wasn't the greatest with exceptional amounts of rain on an almost daily basis. Luckily we had rented this Garden District gem to relax, cook and dry out! The house is centrally located between the Quarter and Tulane with great biking and nearby drinking and eating establishments of the Garden District. If you're a chef by heart, you'll love the well laid out and large kitchen. The backyard was relaxing and well used when the rain stopped. Alison, the owner, was both helpful and considerate of our needs and availed herself for any special requests. Overall, an excellent experience!"

  • Excellent Property

"I stayed here with a group of 8 and thoroughly enjoyed the property. The home is located within the Arts District which is a great area and allowed us to explore an area outside of the French Quarter. Multiple restaurants and bars are within walking distance (personal favorite was Carmo). You can also easily walk to the French Quarter from the house or take the streetcar. We walked to the French Quarter and Convention Center area multiple times and didn't have to depend on the streetcar or a car. The house was very spacious and it didn't feel crowded given our large group. Large living space and ample places to sleep (beds, pull out sofas, and a couch). House comes equipped with free wifi, tv with cable, and all the dishes and linens one would need. I loved the master bathroom and the outside space. I would definitely recommend staying here during your New Orleans stay."
