"This is a great place to stay. The beach is located just across the street and you have beautiful views of the sunrise and the lobster boats. The restaurants are within walking distance and very convenient. We ate at Dots' in the mornings and the Lobster Pound one evening. Both were very good. We spent a lot of our time in Acadia National Park. The drive to that area was beautiful. Dotted with small New England towns and beautiful old homes. The owner of the apartment was very helpful and attentive to all our needs. Coming from Georgia and some pretty warm temperatures, I was concerned about the lack of air conditioning but the evening temperatures were cool and daytime temperatures were low eighty degrees and always a breeze . We even got a message from Mr. Pinkham to turn on the heat one evening when the temperature dropped into the fifties. I traveled there with my 21 year old grandson and 19 year old granddaughter and my 45 year old son. There was plenty to see and do for all of us young and old. Thank you to the owner, George Pinkham for allowing us to stay in your vacation rental."

"This is a wonderful place to spend a relaxing vacation. Bobbie and Leo are great hosts and the property is clean, comfortable and very accommodating. Beautiful views, modern amenities and everything that you need to relax and enjoy. Just bring food or dine out in some amazing and convenient restaurants. We highly recommend this as a great place to vacation. We would ABSOLUTELY stay here if we visit this area again. 5 stars plus, plus. The Shannon family."

  • Nature at its finest ... with creature comforts

"Tucked into the side of a peaceful, wooded peninsula jutting out into tranquil Sandy Pond, this well loved and impeccably maintained cabin provided a perfect Maine retreat. Highlights included: Strolling to 'the Point' and sipping morning coffee as the eagles soared effortlessly above. Swimming in the pristine, refreshing lake water and drying off on the massive, sun-warmed boulders. Exploring the unique corners of the lake by kayak in the morning calm ... and by sparkling moonlight. Biking the scenic and rolling country roads. Relaxing in the hot tub while entertained by near constant activity at the perfectly located bird feeder. Gathering fantastic local farm produce and seafood during sightseeing trips to the coast and nearby villages. Reading by the flickering fireplace on a rainy afternoon. Toasting amazingly beautiful and ever-changing sunsets at 'the Point'. Eating simple dinners on the enclosed summer porch with the surrounding treetops subtly and beautifully lit. Falling asleep to rustle of the breeze through the trees and the periodic call of the resident loons. The cabin was as attractive, comfortable and efficient as described by the owner, Paul, and other reviewers. Monica, the cabin manager, was very welcoming and helpful. We would highly recommend this property to those seeking a perfect mix of pristine lakeside nature and country living close to wonderful sight seeing on the Maine coast. We hope to return someday!"

  • Fantastic, wonderful, peaceful, Divine!

"This is a perfect getaway place for a couple or a family. The cottage (camp) is cozy and open with all the windows you get tons of light and fresh air. The lake is beyond description with its vistas right from the house and the temperature was as good as it gets for swimming. We paddled and swam whenever we were not looking around the area. The only downside is the roadway between the cottage and the lake, most of the time it is quiet but the locals do come ripping thru which is noisy but a concern if you have kids running back and forth. Otherwise bring your water toys and books and go there to unwind and unplug!"
