  • Eclectic upstairs apartment in old building on quiet street close to downtown

"My wife and I stayed three nights in the clean, nicely appointed and updated, upstairs, "B", apartment, while our friends stayed in the downstairs, "A" apartment. Easy to find on a quiet street off U.S. 1 very close to downtown Rockland and the ferry to Vinalhaven Island, with close access to the 4,300 foot-long granite block breakwater along which one can walk the entire distance to the de-commissioned light house. Master bedroom has a comfortable Tempur-Pedic mattress and the well-appointed, sunny kitchen has a view of the harbor. The living room has two couches; one having a hide-a-bed. The stairs leading to the upstairs apartment, "B", where we stayed are steep. They did not present a problem for us, however, those having difficulties climbing stairs will want to choose the downstairs, "A", apartment. The property is very affordably priced and provides excellent value. The hosts were readily available. We recommend and would stay here, again."

  • Enjoyable stay

"The owner was very kind and thoughtful. House charming and quaint. The beds were unbelievably comfortable! Located in the heart of Rockland, you can literally walk to all great venues. You must visit Camden and go hiking at Camden Hills State Park. Maiden Cliffs also a great hike. I was there to Plein Air paint with fellow artists. So many scenes that sparkle, inviting the artist's eye to capture the light. I would definitely recommend this place to stay. My only suggestion for the owner would be to put reading lights (bedside lamps) in the bedrooms. (Old house, old lighting). I would rate this VRBO home a two thumbs up!!!!!"

  • What a lovely place!

"It was a pleasure to have stayed with Carol! The place is so charming, spacious, very clean, and the most comfty beds! Carol has thought of everything you might need to make your stay the most comfortable. She was very accommodating to us, we had a late arrival. She had maps and notes of suggested places and restaurants to visit. We have already shared with her that when we return to Maine, we hope to stay with her! Carol and her charming home added to our visit to beautiful Rockland, Maine. Thank you, Carol! ~ Brenda, Goodlettsville, Tennessee"

  • This place is GORGEOUS. Basically, brand new condo inside a charming Victorian.

"The location really couldn't be better.... withing walking distance of all the attractions. Many restaurants, bars and shops right on your doorstep. Easy to get to and parking is ample. The inside of the unit is charming and decorated very tastefully. We highly recommend a stay here... We are DEFINITELY coming back!"
