  • Family vacation of a lifetime.

"We enjoyed a 50th birthday celebration with children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The Victorian era of the home was perfect. We had great family time enjoying the large living room, dining room and two porches. We enjoyed campfires every evening. We walked the beach, kayaked, canoed and walked to Samoset. The hosts were so accommodating. We enjoyed the pool at their Irish Claddaugh Motel just a few steps up the street. This location was great, close to shopping and activities."

  • Great value for a family vacation.

"We very much enjoyed our stay at Anne's Cottage. "Sea View" is a bit deceiving but regardless it is located in a quiet area which was very pleasant for a spring stay The trees were blooming and the smell of lilacs was in the air. It is located across the street from the beach with houses and big beautiful trees blocking the view for the most part. The cottage is very convenient to restaurants and shops.. We found the cottage very clean and supplied with all you may need other than food for meals. The downstairs bedroom was geared towards children and one of the windows had no curtain. Would not think a couple would be comfortable there. The upstairs bedroom was very comfortable. Woke up to the beautiful Maine sunshine coming in the windows. The bathroom has a washer and dryer along with a tub/shower. We did have to hang a sheet over the window. LOL It is right beside the toilet and tub and when the lights are on at night it can offer quite a peep show. The neighbors are not close but we did see them out in their yards often. Easy fix and not a problem. I quess if I had a complaint it would be lack of comfortable seating in the living room. There is a nice love seat and only a wooden chair. A pretty chair but not one to relax in. Off the living room is a large deck. We very much enjoyed sitting out there enjoying nature. I would not recommend the cottage for 2 couples to stay but definitely for an affordable family trip to Maine. Since getting home I have suggested it to a few of my friends. There are not a lot of frills like you might expect from a VRBO rental but it is a true taste of Maine and very comfortable. I would definitely stay there again."

  • Perfect stay in Rockland!

"My husband and I are regular users of VRBO and Homeaway. We just returned from our first stay in this lovely upstairs apartment. It is very much like the photos only much larger. We were quite surprised at the space and its charm. Ann has stocked this apartment with everything you need to be comfortable as well as a great selection of art and books! THe king size bed is very comfortable and the "treehouse-like " deck provides a cool breeze and an ocean view. There is not a full shower, just a tub with a detachable shower hose. if you can make that work, you can certainly enjoy this property! Also, enjoyed the kayaks that were available, an easy launch from the beach that is a block away!"

  • There's No Place Like Schooners Landing!!!

"Mere words will never capture what it’s like to spend time at Schooners Landing. The homes as you approach belie what you are about to experience. Take the captivating view as you begin the descent down the driveway. If you could multiply that exponentially, you’ll approach what you’ll find in every room of this home. Having vacationed in many places throughout the world, none surpass this. The entire coast of Maine boasts lighthouses, lobsters, quaint towns, local eateries and spectacular vistas, as does Owl’s Head. However, the home itself is what makes this vacation experience unique. You know the expression “there’s something for everyone”? This is a vast understatement! Each room is carefully and expertly decorated in a way that captures the local color, but with such attention to detail that you’ll feel more like this space has been designed just for you! (This statement would apply to small children, teens, young adults, parents, and grandparents!) Paula and Michael have done a superb job of equipping their home with everything possible that someone would want to see, use or do. Literally, no stone has been left unturned. We love Maine, and have vacationed there for many years. In the past we chose a different area each time. For years now, we have returned to Owl’s Head, to this particular home. We feel there’s so much to be discovered and experienced in this home, that our allotted vacation time just doesn’t allow us to fully take it all in. This home has to be experienced to be truly appreciated. And once is definitely not enough! Paula and Michael, thank you for all you do and give of yourselves in making Schooners Landing our family’s favorite vacation home!"
