  • Great location. The house was nice and just what we were looking for.

"No complaints the house met our expectations. Only small issue was the bed in the kids room was very uncomfortable. But overall the vacation and house were great."

  • Family Reunion

"This lovely home in Annisquam (Gloucester) was just perfect for our recent family reunion for a wedding/anniversary celebration. Rather than put our family into four different hotel rooms, we looked into renting this home for the 6 of us. (Two couples, two singles) With 3.5 bathrooms - one on each floor plus and extra powder room on the first floor - there was never a "line" for the facilities! The home is beautifully maintained and it is in a quiet residential area. A short walk up the hill and you can take in the breathtaking views of the bay with stunning sunset views. Although we didn't have time to use the outdoor areas (and the remnants of Hurricane Matthew made it impossible on Sunday), there is a porch and patio area that would be great for dining or just relaxing with a drink and a good book. Speaking of books, just up the road and nestled into the side of the hill is a free community tiny box library. Take a book and if you don't finish it before you finish your vacation, you are welcome to keep it. How nice is that?! The house comes with a very well-equipped kitchen. We were able to easily prepare meals. Our octogenarian mom, who can not navigate more than a few steps, was very comfortable in the downstairs bedroom with her own private bath. This was a big plus over all the other properties we saw and really met our needs extremely well. My only suggestion would be to add a small television downstairs as she was unable to join us on the 3rd floor to watch the news/weather/football game. As for the third floor, it is a gameroom/den/bedroom all-in-one great place to hang out! The men in our group camped out up there. They say it was because the WiFi was better (it was), but the real draw was the football game. We were in town for a family wedding and 60th anniversary celebration, but we took in a nature walk at the Ipswich River Sanctuary (Mass Audubon Society) early Saturday, which is about 40 minutes away by car, but worth the ride if you are a bird watcher. Bring birdseed! The birds will eat right out of your hands! We also took in some of the regular attractions - like the "Down to Sea" fisherman statue on the seawall. Gloucester is a beautiful town with a rich history and we enjoyed our all-too-brief visit very much. We would recommend this home to anyone needing space, peace and quiet. Ken and Mary are lovely to work with and have thought of everything - even a binder chock full of information and travel brochures!"

  • Location, location, location

"Wife and I were greatly impressed with our stay at Richard's rental in Lanesville, MA. The location of the property was perfect. Situated just about halfway between Gloucester and Rockport it was convient to both of those small, quiet seaport communities and the dining and shopping opportunities they offer. Only 100 yards or so from the beach and just about 1/4 miles from the quiet and quaint Plum Cove beach, we had easy access to the water and sunshine. Also nearby, within walking distance, are the historically interesting abandoned granite quarries which not long ago were the economy of the area. The local festivals, yard sales and other community activities also added to the ambiance of our August stay. Very important to us was the quietness and serenity of Richard's rental. Sunsets were stunning and added to the relaxing quiet. During our late summer visit traffic was light and quiet and driving about was never a hassle. The property was clean and well kept, everything, (appliances, etc) was working and convient. The outside area was well maintained with outdoor furniture to enjoy the seaside character of coastal Massachusetts. We had a great stay and will very likely return."
