  • WOW!

"I can't say enough good things about the Beachcomber Cottage! Laura has created a warm, welcoming, clean and well appointed home and amazingly offers it as a rental! My family found the home spacious enough to spread out when we wanted some quiet time but there were enough large spaces (inside and out) to gather and eat together. My mother, who has some knee issues and is partially blind, appreciated the grab bars in the bathroom and in a few other places in the house that offered her the extra security she requires. Let's not forget the real reason you rent this house--Long Beach! We love Long Beach and the Beachcomber is about the 6th house up from the sandy path that takes you right down to a picture perfect spot at the end of the crescent shaped beach! I would say with slow legs the walk will take to 4 minutes and with a quick step you can do it in 2. The owners were always quick to reply to my questions and we will rent this house again and again. If you can find an available week, snap this place up!"

  • Awesome place to relax away from home

"We came to Manchester-by-the-Sea after 5 days in New York City. This location was the polar opposite of where we had been. It was perfect for us. After a week in a cramped hotel room, it was excellent for the three of us to have our own space in this lovely home. The two bedrooms were fantastic and it was also nice to have a living room to meet up in for mornings and end of day.The laundry was also a plus. It was great to not have to go home with all dirty clothes! Maureen was awesome about giving suggestions as to places to go for our needs. She was quick to answer our questions and give information. This was the perfect location to base our Massachusetts week from. It was an easy drive to Gloucester for our Whale Watch Cruise and to Salem to sail on the Schooner Fame. The house was close to the beach which had incredible sunrises and sunsets. (The mosquitoes however were quite large, so I do suggest that anyone who goes takes insect repellent with them.)"

  • We really enjoyed our stay in Manchester-by-the-Sea and never went near the water!

"Because we came to MBTSea for work reasons, our POV is slightly skewed. Working 14-16 hour days on the North Shore presents its challenges. This location was good for my roomate and I as we never traveled more than 25 minutes to all the locations we had to work. Because of where the house is located, in a neighborhood, it was a good place to sleep during the day when we worked late. Because its only two minutes to downtown we could easily roll out and get coffee, or breakfast, or groceries or supplies at the hardware store. Working long days we took full advantage of the hot tub. Bo was friendly and respectful of our privacy at the same time. We didn't spend much time at the house, but we wanted for nothing. It was great to be able to do our laundry while living away from home for six weeks. And the off season pricing was great for our budget. We will absolutely recommend Bo's place, or claim it for ourselves, should we have a need for work in the area again!"

  • Had a wonderful stay at this wonderful property

"The Harpoon house is everything it claims to be and more. Owner very responsive, helping to make booking seamless. Quiet neighborhood; gorgeous spacious and airy bedrooms. Huge deck with great views of the bay and fantastic sunsets. The house is very clean and comfortably furnished. It's in a peaceful location with very easy beach access to miles of wide sandy beaches for long walks. We visited after September 15 and so were able to walk our dogs on the beach. Nearby historical Newburyport offers great shopping, restaurants and a picturesque waterfront. There are also many lovely parks to explore. The area is quite pet friendly as well for those who bring their furry loved ones. All in all, we loved it and plan to return! Highly recommend the Harpoon House."
