  • WOW!

"I can't say enough good things about the Beachcomber Cottage! Laura has created a warm, welcoming, clean and well appointed home and amazingly offers it as a rental! My family found the home spacious enough to spread out when we wanted some quiet time but there were enough large spaces (inside and out) to gather and eat together. My mother, who has some knee issues and is partially blind, appreciated the grab bars in the bathroom and in a few other places in the house that offered her the extra security she requires. Let's not forget the real reason you rent this house--Long Beach! We love Long Beach and the Beachcomber is about the 6th house up from the sandy path that takes you right down to a picture perfect spot at the end of the crescent shaped beach! I would say with slow legs the walk will take to 4 minutes and with a quick step you can do it in 2. The owners were always quick to reply to my questions and we will rent this house again and again. If you can find an available week, snap this place up!"

  • Awesome place to relax away from home

"We came to Manchester-by-the-Sea after 5 days in New York City. This location was the polar opposite of where we had been. It was perfect for us. After a week in a cramped hotel room, it was excellent for the three of us to have our own space in this lovely home. The two bedrooms were fantastic and it was also nice to have a living room to meet up in for mornings and end of day.The laundry was also a plus. It was great to not have to go home with all dirty clothes! Maureen was awesome about giving suggestions as to places to go for our needs. She was quick to answer our questions and give information. This was the perfect location to base our Massachusetts week from. It was an easy drive to Gloucester for our Whale Watch Cruise and to Salem to sail on the Schooner Fame. The house was close to the beach which had incredible sunrises and sunsets. (The mosquitoes however were quite large, so I do suggest that anyone who goes takes insect repellent with them.)"

  • Magical home in beautiful Manchester!

"We had a wonderful stay at this Manchester-by-the-Sea home. The house is exactly as promised - lots of space, beautiful bedrooms, everything anyone would need for a family of four (or more). We arrived to find everything immaculate. This was a "turn key" experience. What an amazing neighborhood - so quiet and cute, but very close to downtown. Singing Beach (about a mile from the house) is unbelievably beautiful - with the beach passes, beach toys, chairs and umbrella, we were ready to go! We had a few questions during our stay and the owners were immediately responsive. The weather wasn't always perfect and that didn't bother us a bit! The house is so comfortable, we were able to just relax, read and watch a movie with the kids. I would highly recommend this home to anyone with a family - it's clean, roomy, convenient and homey. Our girls are 8 and the home was just perfect for them. Manchester-by-the-Sea is a perfect alternative to the very busy Cape. It's a very nice "hometown" feeling - with easy access to a gorgeous beach and delicious restaurants. Thank you for a wonderful stay!"

  • Seaside Perfection!

"We had the pleasure of being greeted by John on our arrival, Peggy was busy with family so we hope to meet her on perhaps another visit. We were more than impressed by the spectacular views of the bay! We found the kitchen well equipped with more than we could have possibly used on our week stay & the bathroom amenities were lovely products that we didn't need to pack for our trip, absolutely perfect! John & Peggy's apartment was such a blessing and very well cared for. Although they were available if there was anything that we may have needed, we didn't, there is all sorts of brochures and maps as well... If the weather were warmer we would have taken the kayaks out! We did however see a few seals on the beach in front of the apt on the beach resting, very cute. Market Basket has wonderful prices for groceries, live lobster and wine/beer. Roy Moores was a few doors down and don't forget to buy some coffee downstairs for the coffee press or coffee maker! Or just have The Bean & Leaf make your coffee & pastries, yum! The gas fireplace was warm and inviting in the evenings at sunset. The bed was very comfortable & there is plenty of storage for all your personal belongings. We must say we were truly blessed with our stay and will choose this gem again!"
