  • Great, place to recharge!

"Needed a few days of quiet. Found just what I was looking for in this lovely getaway on Lake Michigan! Spent most of my time on the screened porch reading and looking at the lake. Listening to the waves each night was so relaxing. Clean and comfortable, close to Charlevoix, Elk Rapids, and Traverse City. Walking and biking friendly area. Owner responded to my emails quickly when I was inquiring and made it easy for me to rent on short notice. I hope to be able to stay here again soon."

  • Charming lakeside cabin- true up north experience

"My girlfriend and I decided to come up here for memorial day weekend after she finished grad school. This cabin was exactly what we were looking for- log cabin style, waterfront property with a great view, close enough to town to do things during the day but secluded enough to be able to fully relax and just enjoy being up north. The cabin itself was in great shape- very clean and looked exactly like the pictures. We loved all the little details that were put into the cabin, right down to the moose chairs and moose coffee mugs. The bed was extremely comfortable, we loved the wooden frame continuing the log cabin style charm. The bathroom was very clean and plenty of towels and TP were provided. The window A/C unit was helpful on the humid days and kept the cabin nice and cool. The kitchen had everything we needed, including an indoor grill. The binder with information provided was very helpful and gave many suggestions of where to go to eat, shop, sight see, etc. The cabin was fully stocked with enough household items, having pretty much everything we needed besides our food. We didn't see many people during our stay except another couple staying next door- they were very pleasant and helpful. We got to enjoy beautiful sunsets on the dock and enjoyed coffee every morning on the cute purple furniture overlooking the lake. We definitely would recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking for a relaxing, true up north experience in Michigan. Thanks for a great stay, we hope to return again soon!"

  • Great place to celebrate our anniversary!

"This was a wonderful place to celebrate our 40th anniversary! Upon our arrival, we were greeted by Karen and Phil and found the kitchen table with a basket filled with crackers and cheese and champagne on ice. The cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed and more! We were close enough to walk to town and admire many more Earl Young "mushroom houses" along the way. The yard and the gardens were so beautiful and added to the spectacular lakeshore view. The sunsets were extraordinary and are among the many happy memories we have of our time at the cottage. Thanks Karen and Phil!"

  • Great getaway, convenient to town, nice amenities, quiet neighborhood, free wi-fi

"We 3 gals, ages 55+ and stayed here for a three night getaway. The kitchen has everything we needed. We used the two bedrooms/two baths on the main level. We didn't need the two vintage upstairs bedrooms but they would be perfect for children/young adults (there is no bathroom upstairs, FYI). We didn't use the outside back deck or grill but did sit on the front porch each day, with coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. The living room had comfy furnishings, tv & dvd. We didn't use the washer/dryer but certainly would have if we were staying longer. We walked the beach, downtown, shops, restaurants and marina areas. Bath/beach towels/bedding were abundant. Keep in mind that you need to bring your own toilet paper, paper towels, etc. The "owner's manual" and brochures about the area were very helpful. Kristin was prompt with emails and also refunded our damage deposit very quickly. We would definitely contact her again for future Charlevoix travel plans, as she has more than one vacation rental available."
