  • Felt like home!

"Spent three nights with sixteen people at Liz & Bob's home for our annual up north get away. The house is obviously well cared for and the pictures do not do it justice. The layout makes it perfect for your group to be able to spread out or centralize with no issues. Best pool table of all the homes we've stayed at! It snowed quite a bit on the day of our check-out and Bob came and plowed the property. One of our vehicles got stuck in the driveway and Bob and Liz's son graciously came over and helped get it out. Similar to the pool table, Bob and Liz were the best owners we have ever dealt with. Would recommend!"

  • Perfect Location

"It was our sister and brother-in-law's first visit to Michigan. It was the perfect location for our travels and the cabin was very cozy. Sunsets were beautiful."

  • Beautiful home, great waterfront, but not the best for young kids

"This home is absolutely beautiful and the waterfront is extraordinary. Unfortunately, the week we stayed the weather was not the best so we did not get to use the waterfront much, which was disappointing. That being said, we were stuck in the house more than we planned to be, so we had plenty of time to assess the inside of the home. We were warned that the house had "quirks," but with having four kids in the home under the age of 2 the "quirks" made it somewhat difficult when it came to noise, specifically the creeky staircase/floors. The main bedroom downstairs with the office was probably the most coveted sleeping area in the house, and with a sound machine it was a great sleeping quarter for two adults and kids. But, as warned, the bedroom off the main room downstairss was not very soundproof, and no matter what bedroom you were in upstairs you could hear what was happening in the room next door, which again made it hard for kids. (Example, someone gets up to use the restroom in the middle of the night and everyone car hear that person walking around!) In addition, the only bathtub was upstairs, so bathing small children had to be done strategically, which wasn't horrible, but just something to note for families with young children. With all that, I don't know if I would recommend the house for families with young children, or at least MULTIPLE families with young children. Aside from that the only other small complaints were that there is no garbage disposal, so that made it difficult when cooking and trying to clean up, and also the grill was not "typical" and took some trial and error when grilling. However, overall the house is beautiful, fairly spacious, was clean, and we enjoyed our time there despite the weather (which was out of our control!)."

"This is an absolutely stunning place with a neat family history. There were charming pictures and memorabilia around the house that spoke to the 100+ year history of the lodge. It is extremely roomy and full of character. It was a great winter getaway with the perfect ski lodge feel. The owner had a very nice property manager come over and help us with any needs. We also appreciated that we were asked when it would be convenient for us to have the driveway plowed and the fireplace pilot light lit. We also spoke about how amazing the property would be in the summer. This is a place we would visit again!"
