  • A Vacation Rental to Remember

"We had three families staying at this beautiful home in Charlevoix. The accommodations were great and we lacked for nothing. It was nice to go on vacation and not have to bring paper products, towels, sheets etc. Anything we needed was made available. I was in my glory with all of the wood trim and wooden floors. It brought back childhood memories. One of our favorites was the wrap around porch. We sat at different locations pending the time of day and where the breeze was coming from. Being that we were only a few blocks from town gave us no need to drive but to walk most of the time. We also enjoyed the concerts in the park and the farmers market. There was plenty to do and see and not have to travel far. Maro was a pleasure to work with. Our family back home was very jealous of our stay. We definitely will be renting this home again!"

"This is an absolutely stunning place with a neat family history. There were charming pictures and memorabilia around the house that spoke to the 100+ year history of the lodge. It is extremely roomy and full of character. It was a great winter getaway with the perfect ski lodge feel. The owner had a very nice property manager come over and help us with any needs. We also appreciated that we were asked when it would be convenient for us to have the driveway plowed and the fireplace pilot light lit. We also spoke about how amazing the property would be in the summer. This is a place we would visit again!"

  • Charming lakeside cabin- true up north experience

"My girlfriend and I decided to come up here for memorial day weekend after she finished grad school. This cabin was exactly what we were looking for- log cabin style, waterfront property with a great view, close enough to town to do things during the day but secluded enough to be able to fully relax and just enjoy being up north. The cabin itself was in great shape- very clean and looked exactly like the pictures. We loved all the little details that were put into the cabin, right down to the moose chairs and moose coffee mugs. The bed was extremely comfortable, we loved the wooden frame continuing the log cabin style charm. The bathroom was very clean and plenty of towels and TP were provided. The window A/C unit was helpful on the humid days and kept the cabin nice and cool. The kitchen had everything we needed, including an indoor grill. The binder with information provided was very helpful and gave many suggestions of where to go to eat, shop, sight see, etc. The cabin was fully stocked with enough household items, having pretty much everything we needed besides our food. We didn't see many people during our stay except another couple staying next door- they were very pleasant and helpful. We got to enjoy beautiful sunsets on the dock and enjoyed coffee every morning on the cute purple furniture overlooking the lake. We definitely would recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking for a relaxing, true up north experience in Michigan. Thanks for a great stay, we hope to return again soon!"

  • Beautiful home, great waterfront, but not the best for young kids

"This home is absolutely beautiful and the waterfront is extraordinary. Unfortunately, the week we stayed the weather was not the best so we did not get to use the waterfront much, which was disappointing. That being said, we were stuck in the house more than we planned to be, so we had plenty of time to assess the inside of the home. We were warned that the house had "quirks," but with having four kids in the home under the age of 2 the "quirks" made it somewhat difficult when it came to noise, specifically the creeky staircase/floors. The main bedroom downstairs with the office was probably the most coveted sleeping area in the house, and with a sound machine it was a great sleeping quarter for two adults and kids. But, as warned, the bedroom off the main room downstairss was not very soundproof, and no matter what bedroom you were in upstairs you could hear what was happening in the room next door, which again made it hard for kids. (Example, someone gets up to use the restroom in the middle of the night and everyone car hear that person walking around!) In addition, the only bathtub was upstairs, so bathing small children had to be done strategically, which wasn't horrible, but just something to note for families with young children. With all that, I don't know if I would recommend the house for families with young children, or at least MULTIPLE families with young children. Aside from that the only other small complaints were that there is no garbage disposal, so that made it difficult when cooking and trying to clean up, and also the grill was not "typical" and took some trial and error when grilling. However, overall the house is beautiful, fairly spacious, was clean, and we enjoyed our time there despite the weather (which was out of our control!)."
