  • Comfortable, Plenty of space for multiple families

"I visited with my two sisters and their families (6 adults and 9 kids, ages 7 through 16) and there was plenty of room for everybody. The house is not what I'd call fancy, but it has everything you need for a relaxing, quiet week away from it all. The property is very large, and the view of Lake Michigan is amazing. We brought bikes, but the grounds are more suited for hiking (and there are so many other things to do, we never missed the bikes). The kids had a great time on the boats and playing in the cove (but bring water shoes because the rocks are hard to walk on in bare feet). We enjoyed volleyball tournaments, euchre games, and bonfires, and had a wonderful time reconnecting with our families. Paul and Kim were very helpful and responsive to any questions, and had great suggestions for area attractions."

  • Wonderful relaxing mini vacation!

"The house was charming with all the necessities of home. It was very clean with a cozy up north cottage feel. I loved sitting on the porch watching the freighters go by! The town of Detour is quaint. We were able to walk one block to church, two blocks to the grocery store, restaurant, gas station and gift shop and across the street to the bar and grill! Wish we could stay here forever!"

  • Truly a place to relax.

"Gordy's Glory was perfect for us! It was clean, very well-outfitted, and just the right size for our family of four. We were able to take several day trips to Pictured Lakes (~1.5 hours), Iron Mountain (~1 hour), and even Mackinac Island (~2.5 hours plus ferry time). We always looked forward to our evenings back at the cottage. There were Sandhill Cranes in the yard daily, as well as geese, blue jays, and humming birds. The sound of the water from the bay was pure relaxation."

  • Magic of Superior and Big Bay

"We spent a magical week on the shores of Lake Superior in Big Bay! This cabin was all that one could ask for and MORE! We watched the weather from the open deck and when the rain began to walk across the water to greet us, we retired into the front room to welcome it ashore. We were treated to sun, beautiful clouds, stars, waves and rainbows and were lulled to sleep each night by the whispers of Superior. This cabin is situated close enough to a variety of activities from swimming, hiking and exploring around Big Bay, Marquette and beyond. Carol was fabulous to deal with...would love to meet her and Ron and Bucky sometime! Thank you for sharing your beautiful log cabin. We had a Superior week in the UP!"
