  • Family Time

"What a blessing to gather our adult children and grandchildren from California and Tennessee at Mary's beautiful home on top of one of Lake Michigan's dunes. We were fortunate to enjoy warm sunny days and lake water that was almost like bath water, with just a few showers thrown in to satisfy the cravings of our California kids. Beds and seating were comfy and the kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed during our stay. We enjoyed leisurely walks to Big Red, daring jumps off the pier into calm waters, hours of splashing and swimming, digging to China, Saugatuck shopping and a dune buggy ride, as well as plenty of time to relax. Definitely recommend this lake house!"

  • Great Escape!

"We just returned from a four night stay in August. By the time I booked in Feb/March, only the two smaller cabins were left, but we were able to fit two families of 4-5 members each into each cabin. The cabins were very clean. AC unit in one and central air in the other. Paper towels, toilet paper, and a few dish towels, wash cloths and larger towels provided in a laundry basket. You could leave the basket out with dirty towels and a request for replenished paper products on Monday and Thursday. Lots of dishes and utensils provided. You can tell the owner, Jeff, and his family takes great pride in this property. Jeff lives onsite and can be seen often doing work around the grounds. Very friendly and talkative :). It looked like there were maybe two other family groups on the property at the same time, but it never felt crowded. There is a nice sized beach, lots of grassy areas for the kids to run and play and a "game garage" complete with bikes of all sizes (bring helmets), foosball, shuffleboard and a few other things. Water smelled a little funny (maybe just because we are city folk!) Water pressure and temperature were good. We drank bottled water. Meijer is just off the main expressway about 10 min down the road. There is a mom and pop corner store a two minute walk if you need pop, chips, etc. but I wouldn't do big shopping there. Bring your own fishing poles. There were canoes and kayaks to use and some provided sand toys, noodles and a few inflatables. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return!"

  • Helped me remember what I loved about Michigan

"I haven't been back to Michigan for over 40 years, so when we started looking for a place around Grand Rapids that we could stay I was happy to have found a house that seemed to fit our needs. After reading the description and reviews, we had a pretty clear idea of what to expect. We knew there was a busy road and that this was an older house, we didn't expect pin-dropping silence or a modern home. Leading up to our arrival, we had great communication with Linda and Wally and it continued after our arrival. They were the the type of owners you want...there when you need them, invisible when you don't. The house met the approval of everyone in the family and we found it a great place to relax after the days activities. My favorite time was on the dock by the river in the early mornings, coffee in hand, listening to the water and wildlife. If we go back, we will stay here without hesitation or reservation."

  • Fabulous "Sandcastle on the hill"

"From the very beginning of searching and inquiring about rentals, Pat's communication with me was great. The house sits at the end of the street so there is really only one close house neighbor on the one side. We rented this lovely home for bringing in the New Year with friends of ours. Our expectations were exceeded when we noticed how fully stocked and clean this house was. It really has just about all you need for an enjoyable and comfortable stay. This is an older home that has been updated nicely for the layout. The home decor is fantastic. The living room was equipped with a gas fireplace that we used our entire visit. The dining area has a huge eight seat table. The kitchen has newer appliances and has everything you need for cooking and the fridge has an ice maker. The eat in kitchen has bar stools for the counter and a small table that we used for euchre. All this overlooks the park and channel of Lake Michigan with a wall of windows. The master bedroom is off the kitchen and it is a nice size. The bed is absolutely huge. There is no tv in this room. The attached bathroom is large and the shower pressure is grrrreat. The laundry room is off of that and it is equipped with nice and new appliances, complete with detergent, softener sheets and stain spray. We did a few loads of laundry during our visit. The upstairs has no bathroom so our pals that slept upstairs had to come down to the main bath that is off the kitchen. This is a cute bathroom and actually backs up to the opposite side of master bedroom but we didn't have any issues with sound while they took showers. The bedrooms upstairs do not have tvs. Our pals said they slept comfortably. The downstairs/converted garage has a full bath, a sitting area with an additional full size fridge and a separate bedroom with a bunk bed, two twins and a flat screen TV. All perfect for the kiddos or adults that want privacy. There are a lot of stairs so I would not recommend for people that may have issues. The outdoor area has multiple decks that would be great for warmer months to hang out on. The hot tub, we can't forget the hot tub. We absolutely got our use out of it. Ahhhhhhhh... The smaller back yard has a firepit, picnic table and lawn chairs. Overall, this place was great and the little touches are really appreciated that the owners have put into it for renters to enjoy. We definitely want to come back again. Feel confident with booking this for your next getaway! Thanks again, Pat!"
