  • Adorable!!

"This cottage is absolutely adorable and is just my style! Updated and has a fun cottage feel! Clean, plenty of room for our family of 5, and nicely equipped with everything you need for your vacation. We love the dunes but the pool was a nice addition and LOVE the shuffleboard!!! Brings me right back to vacationing with grandparents in southern Florida as a kid...we played shuffleboard all the time. Will definitely be renting from Melissa again! :)"

  • Fabulous "Sandcastle on the hill"

"From the very beginning of searching and inquiring about rentals, Pat's communication with me was great. The house sits at the end of the street so there is really only one close house neighbor on the one side. We rented this lovely home for bringing in the New Year with friends of ours. Our expectations were exceeded when we noticed how fully stocked and clean this house was. It really has just about all you need for an enjoyable and comfortable stay. This is an older home that has been updated nicely for the layout. The home decor is fantastic. The living room was equipped with a gas fireplace that we used our entire visit. The dining area has a huge eight seat table. The kitchen has newer appliances and has everything you need for cooking and the fridge has an ice maker. The eat in kitchen has bar stools for the counter and a small table that we used for euchre. All this overlooks the park and channel of Lake Michigan with a wall of windows. The master bedroom is off the kitchen and it is a nice size. The bed is absolutely huge. There is no tv in this room. The attached bathroom is large and the shower pressure is grrrreat. The laundry room is off of that and it is equipped with nice and new appliances, complete with detergent, softener sheets and stain spray. We did a few loads of laundry during our visit. The upstairs has no bathroom so our pals that slept upstairs had to come down to the main bath that is off the kitchen. This is a cute bathroom and actually backs up to the opposite side of master bedroom but we didn't have any issues with sound while they took showers. The bedrooms upstairs do not have tvs. Our pals said they slept comfortably. The downstairs/converted garage has a full bath, a sitting area with an additional full size fridge and a separate bedroom with a bunk bed, two twins and a flat screen TV. All perfect for the kiddos or adults that want privacy. There are a lot of stairs so I would not recommend for people that may have issues. The outdoor area has multiple decks that would be great for warmer months to hang out on. The hot tub, we can't forget the hot tub. We absolutely got our use out of it. Ahhhhhhhh... The smaller back yard has a firepit, picnic table and lawn chairs. Overall, this place was great and the little touches are really appreciated that the owners have put into it for renters to enjoy. We definitely want to come back again. Feel confident with booking this for your next getaway! Thanks again, Pat!"

  • Beautiful Cottage!

"We had a wonderful week in the Green Cottage! We had 5 adults in our group and were very comfortable in the cottage. We really enjoyed eating our meals in the new screened in deck! The deeded access to Bass Lake was nice and we used it a couple times to cool off in the lake. We also went into Ludington for the SS Badger fireworks on Independence Day and for breakfast and dinner, the house is so close to Ludington and Pentwater which is perfect. Charles Mears State Park/Pentwater Beach is a nice as we remembered! We were so happy that the red chairs have been replaced by two comfy La-z-Boy recliners! Only a two minor issues: a funky mildew smell throughout the house and the front screen door kept getting jammed and we got stuck in/out of the house. Overall we loved the location of the house and the comforts of the living space and kitchen! Thank you for sharing your cottage with us!"

  • Helped me remember what I loved about Michigan

"I haven't been back to Michigan for over 40 years, so when we started looking for a place around Grand Rapids that we could stay I was happy to have found a house that seemed to fit our needs. After reading the description and reviews, we had a pretty clear idea of what to expect. We knew there was a busy road and that this was an older house, we didn't expect pin-dropping silence or a modern home. Leading up to our arrival, we had great communication with Linda and Wally and it continued after our arrival. They were the the type of owners you want...there when you need them, invisible when you don't. The house met the approval of everyone in the family and we found it a great place to relax after the days activities. My favorite time was on the dock by the river in the early mornings, coffee in hand, listening to the water and wildlife. If we go back, we will stay here without hesitation or reservation."
