  • Way more than we expected

"You never know what you're going to get when booking on Homeaway. You can't tell how soft the bed is, how good the drinking water is, and what the environment of the area is like. We were blown away with this rental. Let's start with the house. Did I mention it's located on an estate on a dead end road? SUPER QUIET in this area. All I could hear were crickets at night. No traffic, no neighbor noise, awesome. The property is about 350' x 500'. Our two dogs loved playing ball in the yard. Working from the road to the lake, there's a nice tennis court in the corner, a game room is an out building with table tennis, pool, bowling pins, air hockey, tennis and badminton rackets (there's a net in the yard as well). Beyond the game room is the main house, a fountain, the hot tub, and finally the beach area. They have a paddle boat and canoe (we took the paddle boat out for a bit), and the water is clean and warm. The dogs loved fetching sticks we threw into the lake. The house is 3 levels, with steep stairs leading up and down. Probably not conducive if you're old or aren't mobile, but I had no problem with them. The bed is a queen which is very comfortable, and there are a couple of portable AC units in the house. The drinking water quality is awesome. I don't know if there's "city water" in this area, but if this is well water, you can't tell. No sulfur smell or strange taste. Little things like this make this more "home" than "away". The house has xFinity Wifi as well as a router and I had no problem getting cell reception (verizon) at the house. If you haven't been to this area, there is plenty to do if you hike or play golf. Stonegate golf club is a very nice track within 10 minutes of the house, and Muskegon State Park, and Silver Lake Park are within 25 and 40 min respectively. We definitely need to come back to explore more of the trails at Muskegon State Park, and the dunes at Silver Lake are super cool."

  • Had a great stay.

"Took the whole family on a vacation and loved staying at Huckleberry Hideaway. All adults had there own sleeping areas where we could get away for quite time then all meet back in the house for meals and family time. The kitchen is very efficient. The view from the upper deck is astonishing, have never enjoyed more beautiful sunsets. Remote and quiet setting that is truly away from it all. We loved it."

  • The Perfect Location!

"While in town for a youth summer camp, we stayed in this charming home across from Lake Michigan. It was the perfect location for getting to and from the camp as well as being just a quick drive to the wonderful coastal towns of Western Michigan. Kimberly's home is spotless, and she made us feel welcome immediately! There are a few fun, waterfront restaurants/bars within walking distance, as well as several other great places all within a short drive--including a different ice cream place for every day of the week! The beach is spotless and absolutely beautiful, and we enjoyed it until late in the evening many nights. I would recommend staying (a little further north) in this wonderful home if you have the chance!"

  • Perfect summer getaway!

"We are just finishing up our vacation here at Tree Top. We have stayed this this cottage for multiple summers and the experiences just keep getting better! Our 3 girls, ages 9, 6, and 5 are making so many memories. Some of their favorites include the beach(of course), horseback riding at Rainbow Ranch, tubing down the river, the sand dunes, Lewis' Petting Farm, and the rodeo on Saturday evenings at the JJ Ranch. The cottage is in the perfect location with an amazing view of the lake and sunsets. Sad to be leaving, but already looking forward to next year!"
