  • Clean, comfortable and family friendly

"We had a great time staying at this cabin. It was very clean and spacious for our family. We really appreciated the canoe, paddle boat, kayaks and kid's beach toys. The cabin is well stocked from kitchen supplies to nice bath towels and even some toys. It's also in a great location, Detroit Lakes is only a 15 minute drive away and the Tamarac Wildlife Refuge is only a 5 minute drive away, we had fun spending time at both places."

  • Spacious! Private! Relaxing!

"We rented this private, lovely, spacious home, shaded property and pontoon for one week as a gift to our children, adult children and spouses, and grand children for a total of 20+ people! The description is accurate and it is more beautiful than the photos can show! The spacious floor plan and views of the outdoors allowed us to enjoy each other's company while still being able to see the activities outside in the yard and on the multi- level deck! This was a wonderful way to keep an eye on the children! For those who wanted some quiet time they simply took a walk down the long driveway, a journey onto the lake, or spent some time in the den (on the main floor, but away from the main living area). The yard provided ample space for volleyball, touch football, water games(hose available), obstacle course, yard games, and bonfires! The beach area had an extended shallow area with an adequate sandy area for us to build sand castles, have water wars, and water toy fun, and swimming for the little ones! We were able to catch and release small fish right from the dock and catch crawfish in the shallows near the dock! The older kids and adults enjoyed all that plus the hydro bike, canoeing, and swimming off the pontoon(ladder available)! All ages also hooked their lines in several panfish throughout the week! Refueling the boat, obtaining bait/tackle, a snacks was conviently available at a nearby resort on the lake! On the rainy day, we found plentiful games supplied and tv in the den to keep busy with! We also brought a game system to be used just for inclimate weather! Plenty of sleeping options, including bedrooms, futons, hide-a-bed, and air beds provided a welcome rest from the activities of the day! A well stocked kitchen allowed us 1st class meals and the two grills provided ample space for large group BBQ's! First time we've found a place with large cookware and prep/serving dishes! The owner and caretakers were courteous and prompt in communications and ready to make our stay enjoyable!"

  • Wonderful Family Vacation

"This home and property are amazing!!! We spend a week here on our annual family vacation, and will for sure be booking it again next year. We had 15 people staying in the house aging from 4 to 85! The owner was great to work with, answered all the questions I had about the home. I had my 2 kids with me ages 4 and 6, they both wanted to stay longer than our week (they even asked if we could stay forever!) The beach was great for the kids to play on and the water was good for swimming. The pontoon was is wonderful condition and we used it often. The fishing was great, my 6 year old son caught a Northern and was so excited! The yard was perfect for our day of playing yard games!"

  • Exceeded all Expectations!

"Five stars PLUS +++ This was our first time staying at Wildwood's Lodge and it won't be the last! A darling suite with privacy, cleanliness, beauty, charm and so much more. Liz and Phil have the most wonderful personalities and make you feel extremely welcome. Liz could be a professional decorator the suite has been so artfullly done and you can see the love and care she put into every detail of design. The space is separated into two different areas, one room has a king size bed, two seating areas, a television and master bath with jacuzzi and a deck overlooking the lake. The other room has an additional bathroom, two seating areas, coffee maker, mini frig and microwave, which was convenient when I woke before my husband. Liz has plates, bowls, silverware, coffee cups and wine glasses for your use with gormet coffee (instead of the usual generic hotel pouches!!). The Heartland Trail is only 1 mile away and we were able to go for a nice run and a bike ride straight from the cabin! Also, Fish Hook lake is gorgeous!!! Sand, sand and more sand. No weeds in sight, wonderful for swimming and sunbathing. My husband took out a complimentary kayak and was able to catch multiple bass, three of which were over 4 lbs (there is a shelf 300 yards west of their cabin). It was a sad morning knowing we had to leave and we are already planning our second trip. If you want a nice, quiet getaway in a beautiful setting look no further than Wildwood's Lodge. You won't be disappointed and I know when you book this rental you will find it as lovely as we did!!!"
