  • Beautiful Old Home in a Serene setting

"This home was an old inn--The Shandaken Inn--and it has beautiful woodworking and large picture windows. It has an old fashioned, but not run down, feel to it. The owners were very accommodating but not at all hovering. It is a wonderful place for a large group of friends or a large extended family. The property is large and magnificent. It was too cold for swimming but there is a beautiful pool. The house has a few quirks--not enough curtains and window dressings, no microwave (for me--a necessity) and some spots that could use sprucing up. In all, though, we LOVED spending the weekend there and would stay again in a heartbeat!"

  • Relaxing and beautiful!

"My fiancé and I were lucky enough to spend four nights at this beautiful place with our dog! It is absolutely magical! The cabin is so comfortable and thoughtfully done. We could hear the creek from our loft bed. The bathroom is clean and spacious. The outdoor shower is incredible, I highly recommend it! The kitchen is stocked with everything you need (utensils, can opener, wine glasses...). Having meals on the deck, surrounded by nature, is truly relaxing. There is also a fire pit and a night sky full of stars. Woodstock is a casual fifteen minute drive away, full of cute shops and great restaurants (Garden Cafe is amazing!). There is plenty of great hiking. Big Pink is also nearby! David and his wife were wonderful, helpful hosts. We felt so much stress melt away while staying here and our dog had the time of his life! It meant so much to us to be able to take our dog with us on vacation. We can't wait to come back, we're already planning our next trip! Thank you, David, for sharing your beautiful, peaceful cabin! -Melanie, Jon and Cass"

  • The perfect escape !

"A terrific and cute condo to spend a nice long weekend in the winter! Very well taken care of, fully equipped, with close access to Hunter Mountain Ski Resort (only 8 minutes away!) and to the center of Tannersville. Unfortunately, we weren't able to experience the snowed scenery as we visited during a rather warm (for the season) period -- however the condo is surrounded by tall trees and has a great view so the scenery will undoubtedly be amazing. The large fireplace creates the perfect atmosphere for relaxing, and the loft area with the skyroof is ideally situated to get the balance between isolation without feeling confined in a room. The outdoor bbq is brand new and it's located on the back balcony with direct access to the kitchen and living room area. We were able to grill even during the early evening without a problem, regardless how cold the weather was. The condo was very clean, especially the bathrooms. Sufficient towels and linens were supplied, and the beds were very comfortable. Christine is a great host. She was very responsive and made sure everything was set up down to the very last detail, in order for us to have a great time. Any inquiries we had during our stay, she made sure they were addressed immediately. A very pleasant, personable, and flexible host to deal with! We will surely be returning there for our next ski trip."
