  • Idyllic, peaceful corner of CT

"We spent 8 nights at this perfectly lovely cottage and could have stayed much longer, maybe a few months. It is in the most perfect location, a large private lot right on the Housatonic River. There is lots of room to sit outdoors and admire the scenic river or stay indoors in the very comfy living area. Although it was 90 degrees most days, I was eyeing the fireplace and wishing it were colder. The bedroom was spacious, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom huge, housing a very convenient washer and dryer. Everything was very clean and in perfect working order. Kitchen was small but absolutely fully stocked. The nicest aspect of this house, other than the privacy and peacefulness, was that it was clearly a working house that someone lives in regularly with everything anyone would need to get along. We loved it to death and hope to go back, this time with our bicycles, for another week in fall or spring. It is a very beautiful corner of CT."

  • Rustic, natural beauty and comfort

"The barn was exactly as advertised. It is an authentically restored barn that makes you feel like you're living in the past, but with all the comforts of the present. We would awake each morning and stroll in to Tivoli, which is the most charming little Hamlet, but which also has great coffee and a gourmet food store. The barn has a great kitchen, so we were able to shop for fresh food and cook our own meals. We also built a fire in the pit outside and roasted marshmallows at night. The location is fantastic -- completely secluded and yet only a two minute walk into Tivoli. Bruna was an amazing host and very attentive to our needs. We had a great time. One tip: Beware that this is definitely a restored barn, so if you're staying with another couple, you will hear the floorboards creak when someone moves."

  • Lovely week in the country

"We rented this home for one week to visit with friends in the area. We are a family of four, including two boys, and a small dog. The home was perfect for our family. We loved sitting on the screened-in porch, to read, play games, or just enjoy the fabulous view. The home is very cozy, warm, and inviting. All of the amenities were exactly as described. We enjoyed fishing in the area, shopping in Millerton, and the Drive-in theatre in Amenia. We would definitely come back again and recommend this home to others. The owner was very responsive and made everything easy. It was a very memorable family vacation!"
