  • A Taste of the Old Hamptons

"This home is the way the Hamptons were 40 years ago, when Truman Capote got smashed at the Driver's Seat in Southampton and wrapped his car around a tree in Sagaponack, when James Joyce and Wilfred Sheed and Willie Morris got hammered at Bobby Van's in winter, when Sag Harbor was still a rough town. Wood floors, wicker furniture, antiques, some beautiful watercolors, a huge yard with a picnic table and crickets and blue jays and chickadees and peace (and an outdoor shower). There's no "media room" - talk, cook, read, play cards and backgammon, listen to WLNG. There's no swimming pool - you're on Long Island - GO TO THE BLOODY BEACH - THAT'S WHY YOU'RE HERE. This is the kind of cool that's rapidly disappearing from the East End - savor it while you still can. Nile is a fantastic host; you'll want for nothing you really need, and if you don't really need it, it's not here in the first place. A great evening ritual here is to pop over to Long Beach (30 seconds by car), have a drink, and watch the sun set over Peconic Bay, then come home to boil your lobster and potatoes."

  • Perfection

"We loved this house so much. We have a two younger children and the pool, open main level and distance to town were perfect. The family who owns the property were wonderful to work with and we hope to come back for even longer next summer!"

  • Lovely Rental in Sag Harbor

"Exceptional experience renting this lovely home from a wonderful Family. The owners were incredibly reliable, kind and generous as they opened their spacious home to us. Location was excellent as we were just minutes from the beach and phenomenal restaurants. We'd absolutely rent this Sag Harbor charmer again, and as well, would highly recommend to others...."

  • Perfect location and house for a big family!!

"We have now stayed at this wonderful home twice. Once for several days over Thanksgiving and the second time for five weeks from the start of August until Labor Day. The key elements of location, house, backyard, host and neighbors are all great! The location is walking distance to the center of the village so it is perfect for going for coffee in the morning, but it is also just outside of the more densely built area so you have bigger lots, green spaces and very little traffic. It is quiet. The house was the perfect size for us as we had five to eight adults and two to five children over our stay. The layout is very functional, but also very cozy. The backyard is uniquely designed for the area and perfect for spending long hours there. The host is wonderful - reasonable, attentive and very responsive. During both of our stays, people in the immediate neighboring houses were quiet and considerate. All of these attributes made it an easy choice for us to rent the house in the summer after having stayed there once already."
