  • Just what our family needed!

"We were thrilled to spend 2/19/16-2/22/16 at the cabin. We brought our kids (all teenagers) and our dog with us. We spent the day at Sugar Mountain and the evenings we stayed in and made dinner and ate by the fire. It was so perfect. The home is incredible. Its very large and the rooms are placed in the very best spaces. The open kitchen and family room really helped us stay gathered and we had such a great time. We felt we havefound our gem in the mountains and cannot wait to return again and again!"

  • Price Family

"We've lost track of how many summers we've visited Papa Bob's Cabin! We thoroughly enjoy it each time we come. It is so peaceful and quiet. The views are spectacular, and the sun setting over the mountains can be breathtaking. And Papa Bob's gives a front row seat to watch! We love the beauty of nature all around us, and it's always interesting to see what wildlife we see on each trip! There is enough shade to sit on the dock for a good part of the day, for those of us who don't like to bake in the sun! It's pleasantly cool and relaxing. Our family fishes and explores Lake Lure in the kayaks, canoe, and paddleboat. Chimney Rock is close by.....a must see! There are several good restaurants.....we really enjoy La Strada. And Riverside Riding Stables offers fun trail rides (cash only!). The kitchen in the cabin is well stocked, and the cabin is always clean and neat when we arrive. Tom and Jenny are very personable and do all they can to make sure our stay is comfortable. We keep saying we need to visit on a fall weekend to see the leaves! We highly recommend Papa Bob's Cabin as a vacation spot!"

  • Cozy cabin close to numerous outdoor adventures

"Our family booked a last minute trip to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. Toni was quick to reply to my email and she was eager to answer all of my questions both prior to and during our stay. The cabin is a such a gem, built with huge logs from the 20 acre property. The stone fireplace was a cozy place to gather with our young kids on chilly mornings. The cabin has everything you need and things are well-labeled to help guests feel settled in quickly. We spent time playing in the yard as well as at the creek on the property. We also hiked at nearby Beech Mountain, visited the Moses Cone Estate, and walked around Price Lake. The towns of Banner Elk and Valle Crucis have small shops and markets within a 15 minute drive. We felt like we were able to enjoy a balance of quiet family time with active endeavors while making wonderful memories! Thank you, Toni, for your hospitality and for sharing such a special place with us. We will certainly look forward to future visits!"

  • Great weekend getaway!

"The cabin was very cozy and just the right size for my husband and I. It was just what we needed for a weekend getaway. We loved how secluded the cabin was! The fire pit and hot tub were awesome! We can't wait to visit Hotsprings and the Sherwood cabin again!"
