Situated on 26 private acres with direct access to hiking trails and bordering the 4,000-acre Buffalo Cove State Preserve, this home is a perfect escape for family gatherings or intimate couple retreat.

Just wow. At first glace, the home looks like a rustic church on top of a mountain... and the wraparound view is spiritual. Our family and friends found the Summit to be cozy and comfortable, complete with all the amenities we needed for a relaxing, fun weekend. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas during our December stay. We enjoyed the fireplaces, hot tub, the well-stocked kitchen, hiking trails, and game room. Again, the mountain views are incredible. Barbara was helpful, friendly, and quick to respond to all our pre-trip questions. As we wanted, the home is in a remote location, so be prepared for a bit of a drive if you crave any shopping or restaurants. We definitely plan to return.

Beautiful house with extremely well appointed kitchen. Downstairs game room was great. The deck and hot tub provide fantastic long distance views. Really peaceful setting and a good base to head out to hikes and attractions near Blowing Rock and Boone. Hope to visit again.

This home is truly magnificent. The views are stunning. The property has plenty of areas to walk around, it’s private, yet it also has a couple trails. We even took walks with our puppy down the gravel road, which is really like a trail but more open. Unfortunately, I was sick most of the time we were here. Fortunately for me, the house is so very comfortable to hang out in and spend time in. We were here for 11 nights! It is fully stocked. Not just the kitchen, but there is plenty of everything you would need. Barbara is a great communicator, always answering within a few minutes. I highly recommend this house. Our time here was delightful (even counting not feeling well.)

This had to be one of my best experiences so far. Check in was a breeze and check out was painless. I was able to reach host for a minor detail(snake) which was handled quickly, he was outside but close to house, they were there in 2 hours to handle issue and never saw critter again. Its out in woods for sure, with stunning views. I would definitely recommend this for get together or family vacation. The house is beautiful and very clean as well as very well maintained. 10/10 would stay again.

Just what we needed!

Our family met up at the cabin and stayed put. We enjoyed the magnificent views, hiking trails, fire pit, hot tub and the variety of indoor/outdoor games that were provided. A couple family members utilized the desk for their work. The deck overlooking the mountains was enjoyed during the early mornings to enjoy coffee with the sunrise and reading until others woke up. During the day the deck was used to watch the clouds glide across the mountains and during the night, to stargaze and listen to the night sounds. Beautiful inside and out, it was all perfect! We would all highly recommend!

Relaxing & Comfortable Getaway with Stunning Views

We absolutely loved this property! Relaxing, cozy yet spacious with everything you could possibly need. The owners thought of everything and we couldn’t have imagined a more comfortable stay. Our favorite spots were the deck with incredible Mountain View’s, and rec room with pool and card table and games. We will definitely be back!

Pre-holiday decompression

Place is absolutely stunning, the views are amazing, we found our new spring and fall goto place. It is situated almost equal distance to Lenore, hickory and blowing rock...perfect place to relax and the trails are private great to enjoy some tranquility and nature

Birthday Weekend

First let me just start out with how amazing the property manager was and the communication throughout the stay and process was amazing. Also to find out our neighbors was family members lol but other than that the property pictures looks the same in person. The view was breath taking 10/10, pool table, fire pit, hot tub all was a plus. Thank you again Barbara for letting us enjoy time with the family at your wonderful cabin, We will definitely be back.

Amazing Sky Views

This property was breathtaking. The picture online did not do it justice. My family had an asking time, we didn’t even want to leave to go to the wedding we were there for however we did. The house was clean and beautiful. The trails were amazing views. We were also able to sit on porch watching shooting stars all evening.

Beautiful Cabin with amazing views.

Wonderful cabin perfectly set up for families. Kitchen had everything needed to prepare large meals with plenty of space. Amazing views from deck and hot tub. Cabin provided games for all ages to enjoy. Would love to visit cabin and area again.

Friends Getaway

A group of 8 decided to spend the weekend away in the mountains. This place was absolutely beautiful! Very clean and the property owner was fantastic as far as communication and flexibility. Definitely will stay here again!

Beautiful View

This house had amazing views and everything you needed for your stay; very clean and communication with host was great! We enjoyed playing pool, corn hole on the cloudy days. This house sits high (for views) so I recommend 4-wheel/all-wheel drive vehicle. We figured it out with our van w/little speed up the hill. Their neighbor was gracious to try and help us out. You are about a 30 minute drive to town but views are very pretty. We really enjoyed our stay.

Cabin in Ferguson

The cabin itself was amazing. It was stocked well, spacious, and had so many things to do. The host, Barbara, and the housekeeper Mazie were available for questions at any time and always got back in a timely manner. Every cooking utensil and pot and pan you would need was there. We especially loved the extra long dining room table. My husband and I stayed with our close friends and their children (4 adults and 6 kids in total) and we were all able to eat together which was amazing. We loved the game room and the hot tub! The beds were super comfy and there was plenty of space for everyone to not feel crowded. I am only leaving three stars for the cleanliness for one reason. While I completely understand that we were in the woods, there was a serious bat issue. They would fly out of the eave right by the grill on the deck by the hundreds as soon as the sun started to set. There was bat feces covering the plastic rocking chairs and all over the deck on that side. The deck itself was very large so we just had the kids stay on the other side. Bat feces can cause a lot of health issues, let alone the possible exposure of rabies. Overall, we would love to come again as long as that one issue is resolved. Thank you again Barbara and Mazie.

Magnificent Cabin is magnificent

Our family and a family friend had a great time at the cabin. Great amenities and the views are stunning. Had an issue getting my vehicle up the hill to the house but my son shuttled us from a "parking area" at the bottom. Look forward to returning!

Family fun at The Summit

Our family had a wonderful time at the Summit. We enjoyed meals on the deck enjoying the fabulous views at sunset and later, for a few evenings, spectacular nighttime skies. The hot tub was a real tonic after the rigors of rafting and hiking. The grill served us well and we had s’mores by the fire pit on our last evening. Beautiful windows, comfortable beds, spacious common areas, and a very well stocked kitchen. We had some small issues and the host was extremely responsive. The driveway is challenging but doable. Overall, a wonderful experience.

Beautiful Cozy Cabin

This place was perfect for our family get together! It was beautifully decorated and the owner was a pleasure to deal with! The pictures didn't do the house justice! The owner communicated with us regularly and even shared some history of her beautiful home! We will back and will stay longer next time!
