  • Great house with a great location!

"We shared this house with another family during the off season. The house is large, even with 4 adults and 4 kids we had several rooms that went unused during our week stay. The pool is very small, but nice for cooling off or just relaxing. The hot tub was also great for a relaxing soak, far enough away from the pool to not attract the kids while they splashed in the pool, but not too far to jump in for a cooling dip after a hot soak. There is also a community pool that is larger which is a short walk away. The fully-stocked kitchen was great and had everything we needed to prepare all our meals. The coffee maker was decent, but there is also a Keurig - in case you like to bring your own k-cups. There are many things to do in walking distance of this house. There is a strip mall with a Food Lion, shopping, several places to eat and 2 coffee shops (Dunkin and a local cafe). There is a second shopping area also across the street from the strip mall. A miniature golf and bumper car complex, beach toys, vehicle and bike rentals - all are a short stroll away. During our stay it rained very hard overnight Monday and all Tuesday. On Tuesday afternoon, the water started to cover the street! While the neighbors were experiencing flooding, we were safe since the house is elevated a couple of feet above street level. We saw neighbor pools and ground floors that were flooded, but we were high and dry! Walking through the 1.5' of standing water got kind of gross, but it was still a close walk to the beach. The only negative of our experience was the AC on the second floor wasn't working. I didn't know about it until later in our stay, but the 2 other adults and the children were sleeping in 80+ degrees while the thermostat was set to 73. I mentioned it to Elan, hopefully they had it fixed for the next guests. Elan was easy to work with. They had reminder emails and a phone call to make sure we were set and ready for our stay. When we checked in, we were provided with some essentials (paper towels, toilet paper, etc.) and a map to get us the rest of the way. This was our first stay in the Outer Banks, but we all had a blast and the house was a great value! Thanks!"

  • Amazing beach house

"Anna's beach retreat was a delight! The house was so roomy and comfortably fit our whole group. It was stocked with balls to play out in the backyard or on the beach. Along with having multiple TV's in common spaces it had TV's in some of the rooms. It had plenty of storage space in the kitchen, as well as coming with all the kitchen appliances you could ever need. The pool and hot tub were a delight, and even had a plug out there so you could plug in speakers to play music. It was great how the porch connected all three stories, so we could walk out onto the porch from our bathrooms and go straight to the pool. The top level back porch was also screened in, so it prevented bugs from getting in. The front porches were also great, with a hammock and chairs for reading. The house was stocked with a great selection of DVD's and games for a rainy day. There were multiple A/C units, so you could adjust the temperature for different parts of the house. There was a great outdoor shower as well to wash sand off before getting in the pool. Sharon was so kind, attentive and quick to pick up my calls about anything. Lastly, it had what is paramount to every good beach house, a super short walk to the beach. It was great staying here and we had everything we needed for an awesome week. I would recommend Anna's Beach Retreat to anyone that asked! And the owners are amazing!!!!"

  • Wonderful stay at a charming beach house!

"We arrived the day Hermine rolled through, and though that made our arrival (and the drive up the 4x4 beach) complicated, Karen was wonderful and kept texting us updates and advice. When we did get to the house, we just went right into relaxation mode. It's charming, quaint, has plenty of modern touches, and the view is incredible. Nothing much can beat a warm cup of coffee on a cool morning on the porch listening and watching the ocean rolling. We saw horses everyday, and on the last morning, were gifted to see one walking through the dunes in front of us about 50 yards out. The water was beautiful (had some incredible dolphin sightings too!), the other people in the area were friendly, and the beach was wonderful. It's so nice to stay away from the busy crowds a bit further south, but to take a ride into town for some groceries isn't too far either, maybe 20-25 to Corolla and 40 min to Duck. All in all, we had an amazing stay and will look to stay there again next year!"

  • Buffalo Crew

"Another great week in OBX.this is a great beach house. Best by far .its our second time staying here . Can't say enough about what a great house this is. Our group was 10 adults and 5 children 3 eight year olds and 2 four year olds. House was more than big enough for all so many beach chairs and a cart to take them to the beach. All the decks had more than enough chairs as did the pool. Had an issue with the hot tub an within a hour of texting the owner someone was at the house fixing it. Very clean inside and outside.Liked that 4 of the bedrooms where masters with King and queen size beds . This house has all you could want in a beach house . Highly recommend this house ! Can't wait till next time !"
