  • Wonderful!

"We spent seven nights at this fanastic condo at the end of June and loved it! The view is absolutely gorgeous, I couldn't get enough of it. Our children are 10, 7 and 5, and we had a blast exploring and playing on the beach below. The Rainbow Rock itself is really cool too, and the cave was accessible at low tide or sometimes mid-tide. We liked the beach south of the rock best, which wasn't accessible at higher tides while we were there. The path down to the beach was fine for us, as we are young and healthy. It would take us maybe five minutes to walk down, give or take a few. I did feel a bit nervous on the path down if my husband wasn't with me/us, as its pretty secluded. The condo itself was perfect for us. It was very clean and comfortable, but not overly fussy or fancy for a family with young children. We were able to relax without feeling paranoid about ruining anything. The tub in the second bathroom is a bit different, as it is a free-standing one that you can draw a curtain around. But it worked fine for our two younger kids who prefer baths, and I found it very comfortable for a soak or two myself. We actually won't rent a place without a tub at the coast, as kids come up chilled from the beach and want to get warmed up for a while. Incidentally, there is a hose outside by the stairs for rinsing off sand. Washer and dryer were also a must for us! The beds were great, and there was plenty of room for our youngest on an air mattress in the kids bedroom. I would prefer thicker, really light-blocking curtains in both bedrooms, especially for a rental. That way, people who don't like a lot of ambient light while sleeping, or don't want the early morning light at 5 am can be accomodated, and everyone else can just leave the curtains open. But that's really the only thing I would suggest. We actually bring our own light blocking curtains to rentals, and at least there were rods to flip them over, its just a pain when we have to use them. The master bedroom is huge, with a really big walk-in closet (You could easily fit a pack-n-play in it, just saying, for parents with tiny ones). The kitchen was great, everything was clean and working well. The grill was clean and much appreciated. Being on the third floor, I worried about my kids making noise, but the owner below was very kind to us when we met and chatted. All in all, a great condo. We're strongly considereing renting it again next year!"

  • nice digs for a few days in brookings...

"This is a park model overlooking the Brookings-Harbor bridge and the Chetco River. It is NICELY decorated with some COOL pieces of furniture to make it all more interesting. We spent LITTLE time here in the unit, since we headed out on day adventures. This place was a LOVELY place to come home to after a day out -- MUCH nicer than camping and MUCH MORE than a similarly priced motel room. Wish we could have stayed longer; and we look forward to a return one day...."

  • Family Get Together

"We brought families from MN and AZ to together at coast. This house has great beach access. House and furnishings a bit on older side, but size and location made it a great stay for us. Kids were on beach every morning before sunrise and stayed till after sunset. Great location."

  • Good ocean view

"Property was clean, well maintained. The owner was very helpful. We enjoyed the view of the ocean and the trail to the beach. We would definitely recommend it to anyone. Didn't get much TV reception."
