  • Great View! Would book again.

"We stayed at Sea Breeze over the Thanksgiving holiday (4 nights). First of all, the view is spectacular. One thing to note is that there is no dvd player. I should have noticed that it wasn't a listed item. We ended up purchasing one so we could watch some movies. The weather didn't allow us any beach time so it was a must. Another item to note is that the kitchen has only three knives and they aren't great. Luckily we brought some with us so we could carve the turkey for our Thanksgiving meal. Another thing needed in the kitchen is pot holders. There is one oven mit that doesn't really cut it. The bathrooms are a bit dated. On the positive side: 1) The beds were so comfortable. 2) The couches were great too. 3) It was very clean. 4) It was quiet. 5) Excellent location 6)The view is so amazing. We enjoyed sitting in the living room and looking out at the ocean. I would definitely book this place again."

  • Beautiful home away from home

"A perfect home away from home. We loved that the cabin was out of the town but very close to everything in town as well as the local beaches. Every detail of the cabin was well thought out by the owner. We felt like the owner took the time to make sure others would be able to enjoy this beautiful home. We were able to relax and the bed we slept in was soooo comfortable! Dealing with the company who helps run the rental was also a very pleasant experience; all the staff were great and very helpful. We hope to come back again next year."

  • Weekend in the Sun

"Brooking in January can be clear, sunny and warmer than inland! This sweet little beach cottage was a great jump off point for Harris Beach, Lone Ranch Beach, and Brookings. The game room gave the boys plenty of friendly competition - everything works beautifully. Plenty of room in the cottage, lots of beds and bedding. The kitchen worked well and the dining room allowed for great conversation over breakfast and dinner. There are plenty of little nooks and dens for reading, watching tv and catching up with friends and family. The fenced yard was super nice as well. Everything was in good condition! A very pleasant time. We will return for another visit. Casey was very easy to work with."

  • Great vacation cabin

"I really hate to write this because more people are going to know how great the Ocean Mist is. My wife and I stayed there for 10 days and had a very relaxing time. The cabin was just the right size for us. Every night we cracked the window just a little to hear the waves crashing just 30 yards away. My wife and I love to cook and we found everything you would need to prepare a fantastic meal. The owner Katie is just a phone call away and always pleasant, Even when I lost the house key after a day of antique shopping. I called her and she called Dawn, the lady who cleans the cabin and she drove down and let us in. (by the way the cabin was spotless when we arrived). Our daily routine was wake up whenever, coffee on the deck, cook breakfast then off to go antique shopping and exploring. Lunch wherever we felt like (Super Fly's the best), then back to the cabin for a nap or booking reading with a nice glass of wine. Nothing like reading a book on a private deck with the ocean crashing so close by. I usually made dinner so my wife could relax in the hot tub. I laughed at her because if she had relaxed any more she would have slipped into a coma. Couple of tips Watch out for Elk they are everywhere including the middle of the road The Bard surf perch love squid. I took my 7 foot striper pole and caught 4 or them in less than an hour 100 yards from the cabin. Relax Katie, I let them go. :) No fish cleaning on the deck Super Fly's in Brookings is a fun place to eat, great food and drinks, and very reasonable. In the Brookings harbour at dock N you will find Bounders Crab shack. We bought 4 live crabs and they cooked and clean them. The pot is a beer keg with the top cut off. We had a great meal of cracked crab, french bread and wine for dinner. Antique shops are everywhere and for the most part very reasonable. My wife almost had to ride on top of the car so we could get all our treasure's home. Bring rain gear and house shoes. There is a hose by the front door to wash off sand from your shoes Bring hiking boots because it rains a lot and there are a ton of hiking trails. Don't speed in Oregon, there are cops every where. The speed limit changes 4 times just going through Brookings. If you want a very relaxing vacation where it doesn't matter is you go out or not the Ocean Mist is it. Very quiet, very clean, and well maintained. The view is to die for. Remember to bring Binoculars!!!! Thanks Katie, we will be back."
