  • A gem!

"We have an wonderful time staying at Thomas' place in Portland. The apartment is beautiful with tons of old school charm. We traveled with our two toddlers and we stoked to find all of the kids/ baby utensils and plates/cups in the cupboards. Little things like this are often overlooked, be appreciated it tremendously; it is amazing how the littlest things can make the biggest difference. The beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed sipping local beer on the front steps while people watching. Thomas was very easy to get ahold of and thorough with his details. On street parking was never an issue for us. I can't wait to stay here again next time we are in Portland. I didn't want to leave!"

  • Just as wonderful the second time.

"Heaven's Gate#1 was just as we remembered it from May, 2015. The setting on the McKenzie River couldn't be more perfect and the cottage compliments that postcard vista. The cottage is well maintained and perfect for 2 people. All the amenities needed for a getaway and the lack of a television is very refreshing when surrounded by books. And Toad's Restaurant never disappoints. We'll be back..."

  • Quiet Place to Settle on a Monday and Tuesday

"I stayed from Sunday to Wednesday and I think that is key -- the restaurant is quiet on Sunday evening and was closed Monday and Tuesday, so I had the place to myself. If it had been Friday or Saturday I don't think I would have liked it -- you really are right on the patio of the restaurant. It is a nice little cottage -- my brother (who wasn't staying there) and I treated it as a home away from home as the kitchen and living area gave us everything we needed to cook some meals and hang out. It is best for one person or two people who don't need privacy from one another. There are no internal doors, and it is an open plan. As one person, I loved it. One thing -- the address on the gate is very hard to see and the back path is dark. Get your phone flashlight out!"

  • Perfect location

"Three couples all celebrating birthdays and anniversary's stayed here to explore the wineries and the coast of Oregon. The house was picturesque! Very clean and comfortable and the house was stocked with anything you can think of from paper products to toiletries. We were extremely close to wineries and the coast was about an hour and a half away. The owners were very accommodating when we had a problem with the garage keypad and they were willing to come out and fix it asap!"
