  • AccommodationsExhibitor at Convention Center

"Often you are encouraged by exhibition organizers to stay at 'recommended' hotels. We opted to stay here, instead, from all the busyness, after busy days at the expo. LOCATION- This apartment is conveniently located not far from the Convention Center (10 minute walk, or 'lift'), near the RiverWalk (easy access to shops, restaurants, tourist attractions), not far from a good market that offer healthy & 'less' healthy prepared meals to go, in the historic King William Arts District (first Fri nite of the month is Artists Open House, a couple blocks away), within a neighborhood of historic homes with noteworthy trees & landscapes, and a few blocks from a cleaners ( nicely starched laundry service). In the image of the living room area, beyond the window, is a courtyard with an unheated pool & a heated whirlpool ( you must turn it on to use), at ground level. The outside stairway to this apartment is within another courtyard. The apartment is above 1st floor accommodations and a garage. It is considered a 'Carriage House' to the stately B&B, across the street, the Oge House (part of Noble Inn). SERVICE- From the initial inquiry, to the immediate follow through, throughout our entire stay, until the time we picked up our luggage long after check out... EACH member of the staff were eager to make our stay comfortable & enjoyable. We opted to have our stay include breakfast & maid service. QUALITY- The breakfasts, served across the street at the Inn, were a great way to start the day each morning. A selection of teas, coffee, juices, yogurt & granola were always available, but each morning was a different offering of fruits and a different main breakfast, as well. All were delicious, creative, and tastefully plated on china and crystal. It was enjoyable to have casual conversations with other guests at breakfast. The historic Inn is neo-classic and the furnishings reflect this. The Inn is full of antiques, but this apartment's furnishings are adequate, but not to the same caliber of the Inn. I believe the apartment was tastefully redone a couple decades ago with chintz, and colors very popular in the late 80s. The apartment furnishings may be a little worn, but comfortable, adequate, and 'homey', which is refreshing after a long day working at an expo. Only negative was not accustomed to helicopter & train noise in city setting at night. Just 'ok' hodge podge cookware & flatware in kitchen. Wish there was a TV in the living room area."

  • Home Sweet Home

"If you want the feel of home this it. It's warm and so comfortable. The outside is so deceiving but once you get in you have the comfort of home. If you want to cook a meal everything you need is there. If you want to sit outside and grill you can. After sightseeing we came back and sat and talked or played a game of cards. It was so relaxing!"
