  • A real gem

"We found this vrbo property a perfect match for our needs: the flat was well laid out, private, and able to accommodate our family of four. The kitchen was well stocked--including breakfast goodies and all the cooking and serving ware we needed. The apartment is full of great art and well located--a short walk to Winooski's restaurants and a quick drive to Burligton. There is even a balcony with chairs and a bench to take advantage of the cool mornings and evenings. The apartment is also accessible to bike paths for those planning to bike. And the hosts are lovely--they are available to point you in the right direction when asked and to show you around the flat when you arrive. We will definitely book here again next time we are in the area. Donna Euben (and Mark and two daughters, ages 11 and 13)"

  • What a place!

"Jonathan is gracious and friendly host. The camp house left nothing to be desired- everything as described. If you are looking for a place with a great view, great lakeside access, and plenty to do in the vicinity King's Anchorage is the place to stay. Only drawback is the nearby train- which makes for some great smushed coin keepsakes!"

  • A truly unique kind of vacation

"Myself and a group of friends spent 4 nights here on July, and it was a fantastic experience. Coming from a large city, I can't understate how much I appreciated the serenity and seclusion of being disconnected from everything. There are some caveats with being in in a self-sustaining house on an island. The refrigerator doesn't get very cold, 110v wall plugs are hard to come by, and the lack of internet service and spotty signal may seem unappealing at first. However, the longer I was there, the less I found myself needing to check in online, or use my electronics. The caretaker, Wayne, was absolutely delightful. He never took issue with needing rides to and from the island, and was always up for a chat. He's also on the island, along with a few of the owners on occasion, but you'd hardly know they were there. All in all, I see myself booking a trip for next year very soon. I can't imagine visiting Burlington any other way at this point."
