  • Beautiful views, awesome back porch, great trip

"This property is a really cool spot in a very underdeveloped part of North Carolina. I'm a native of NC, having grown up in the Asheville area, and this was my first time staying and hanging in the Yadkin Valley area. This house is fantastic for our couples trip (late 20s/early 30s with our dogs) and provides lots of privacy and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and southern Virginia. The porch is the main feature with great rocking chairs, tons of space, and a fire pit for the cold nights. The dogs absolutely loved having 90 acres to run around on and the property is easily accessible all over on foot. Sparta, NC is just up highway 21 and provides for easy access to local shops, restaurants, a Lowe's Food and Food Lion, and a local ABC store. Round trip to the store and back is around 20 minutes and the drive is half parkway and half very nice highway. We highly recommend this property and really enjoyed our stay."

  • Adorable rental

"My friend and I loved this place especially the privacy for two people with a bedroom and bath both upstairs and down. Plenty of places for friends and family to have their own space. We have been in this area before and love hiking on the New River Trail, going to Grayson Highlands state park to hike and see the wild ponies, going to the Blue Ridge music center on the BRP to hear music and enjoying the Thursday night jam sessions in the Fries community center. They also have a very good restaurant in the park right on the river. The only small issue we had was that even though the downstairs bath was adorable with an old fashioned tub, it was not practical if you want a shower or to wash your hair. You will have to navigate the somewhat steep stairs to use the upstairs shower. The owners are very accommodating and do not burden you with lots of rules or extra charges. The front porch is really lovely and relaxing. I love staying in small towns like this."
