  • Great Place To Stay

"We really liked it here. It is much bigger than I expected! Plenty of room to roam around in. And we took advantage of sitting by the river--a very pretty and peaceful spot! Thank you!"

  • Wonderful C'ville Getaway

"We celebrated our 35th anniversary at this lovely bungalow. As a former travel industry member I fully appreciate the attention to detail that is the hallmark of hospitality. From the immaculate condition of this charming place, the great location in Belmont, fresh flowers everywhere, and an attentive owner, I highly recommend the Boxwood Bungalow for your next visit to C'ville."

  • Bea's cabin in the woods is very nice and well taken care of.

"Using Google Maps GPS we were able to find the Cabin going off the address. It was a little tricky at night with the winding roads but it all turned out ok and look for the two big rocks at the end of the drive way. Bea waited up for us for our arrival and that was nice since the drive way is long and goes into the woods a little before clearing at the cabin. She even had some hot muffins for us which turned out to be great as we had not been able to get dinner on our trip there. The cabin is very spacious and accommodates two adults and two kids very easily. The kitchen has plenty of room in it and you can easily bring groceries back for meals. We wish we had time to explore the property a bit such as walking around but we were visiting our daughter at UVA and spent most of our time on campus. The main bed might be a little small if your over 6 foot tall. The cabin is fully decorated so you'll want to be careful on your visit. We peaked at the basement which the cabin has but didn't have any use for it. One thing that it could be beneficial for if ok with Bea would be to store bikes if you had them. The basement is pretty large in size with washer and dryer but unfinished and just a cement floor. The drive to UVA was 25 minutes and didn't seem that far away. Very close to Monticello and Carter's farm so it would be great in the fall months. We enjoyed our stay. One last note, with AT&T the cell service at the cabin was pretty spotty but GPS worked as soon as we go out to the road."

  • Reclusive, peaceful setting with much to offer

"The Montfair Farm provides a relaxing escape by offering scenic views; opportunities to explore the woods through wonderful trails; and cozy, comfortable cabins. The owners/office staff are very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our short trip to Humpback Mountain that was recommended and our visit to Charlottesville. The food and coffee in Crozet was also delicious. My partner enjoyed fishing and canoeing while I enjoyed hiking and biking the trails. Once I got over the fact that I did not have phone access at the cabin, and that the internet was slow and spotty, I enjoyed this vacation as much as any I have taken. In fact, the lack of connectivity most likely greatly enhanced the relaxation. The A-frame cabin would be perfect for a couple with teenagers or older children, but the steep stairs to the loft is prohibitive for very young children, older people or those with disabilibites. Montfair offers a reclusive, peaceful setting and is a wonderful retreat. Thank you so much to the attentive staff. Dr. Bean"
