  • Comfy, stylish Garden Apt in quiet area close to Charlottesville

"The Garden Apt at the Old Schoolhouse is delightful. Beautifully appointed, with lots of extra amenities that enhance the peaceful, country atmosphere. The bedrooms are very comfortable with elegant linens, and the three beds provide lots of flexibility. We were a group three friends and it was the perfect arrangement. The pantry was generously stocked with fresh fruit, coffee, beverages, and snacks of all kinds. The lovely sitting area and crisp, stylish bathroom round out a perfect cottage atmosphere. In addition to proximity to Charlottesville, the surrounding towns offer diverse activities, including wine tasting, interesting restaurants, and historical sites. Our winter visit discouraged outdoor activities, but the gorgeous scenery would truly lend itself to hikes and other sports in warmer months. No problem with lack of television as the enormous CD collection includes just about every movie and TV series of note. We immediately wished we had several extra days to spend just to take advantage of that treat! Saving the best feature of the Old Schoolhouse til last, Simon Banner is a terrific host! He provided every detail needed for a smooth arrival, gave excellent recommendations for local activities, and graciously handled our barrage of questions about his home and experiences. We are already looking forward to a return visit."

  • Cavalier Manor a true Southern Hospitality Welcome

"From the moment we contacted the owner, Andy with a question we knew this was going to be a special HomeAway. He made everything easy going and friendly. Once we arrived it was obvious that our family was going to be treated like family as well. The pantry was stocked and ready for our arrival, along with wonderful local wine, beer and water. The owners have taken extra effort to make available extra bedding options in case the need arises. The grills and tailgating supplies do give away their loyalties! GO HOOS! The inviting house sets everyone who enters at ease to enjoy the many available spaces. Our family especially enjoyed the front porch on our beautiful fall weekend. The porch makes a fabulous spot for a family photo and the sunsets are breathtaking! We were able to decompress, enjoy family, eat great food prepared in the large kitchen, cheer wildly for our HOOS, throw the football and chase the soccer ball out on the huge front lawn. We left feeling refreshed and reconnected with family. We will be coming back!"

  • Cute cottage!

"When we arrived, lights had been left on, and pumpkins and mums were on the porch--very welcoming. Holly had left us a note and snacks in the fridge. The beds were very comfortable. Plenty of towels. It's very close to the downtown mall. I'd stay there again."
