  • Bea's cabin in the woods is very nice and well taken care of.

"Using Google Maps GPS we were able to find the Cabin going off the address. It was a little tricky at night with the winding roads but it all turned out ok and look for the two big rocks at the end of the drive way. Bea waited up for us for our arrival and that was nice since the drive way is long and goes into the woods a little before clearing at the cabin. She even had some hot muffins for us which turned out to be great as we had not been able to get dinner on our trip there. The cabin is very spacious and accommodates two adults and two kids very easily. The kitchen has plenty of room in it and you can easily bring groceries back for meals. We wish we had time to explore the property a bit such as walking around but we were visiting our daughter at UVA and spent most of our time on campus. The main bed might be a little small if your over 6 foot tall. The cabin is fully decorated so you'll want to be careful on your visit. We peaked at the basement which the cabin has but didn't have any use for it. One thing that it could be beneficial for if ok with Bea would be to store bikes if you had them. The basement is pretty large in size with washer and dryer but unfinished and just a cement floor. The drive to UVA was 25 minutes and didn't seem that far away. Very close to Monticello and Carter's farm so it would be great in the fall months. We enjoyed our stay. One last note, with AT&T the cell service at the cabin was pretty spotty but GPS worked as soon as we go out to the road."

  • Laura W.

"My family just returned from a fabulous 3 night stay at Eagle's Nest. It was clean, well stocked and spacious. We are a family of six with four kids ages 8-14. We were able to enjoy family time around the fireplace, the hot tub and kitchen table (playing one of the many board games provided). The bedrooms were very comfortable and my young boys had a great time in the Toy Story loft! The condo is just steps from the Eagle's Swoop intermediate trail. It was so convenient to make a quick lunch stop and get right back to the slopes. The owners were a pleasure to deal with and very responsive throughout the rental process. We will definitely return!"

  • Beautiful, historic, serene

"This historic home is at the end of a dirt road at the far side of Jetersville, VA -- very quiet and bucolic. We stayed here for parents weekend at Hampden-Sydney College which is about 30+/- minutes away. The house has everything you'd need, especially the kitchen where I did a little baking. The only problem for us is that there are horses on the property and my husband is very allergic! I thought they'd be a little further away from the house but they are basically in the "front yard". Other than the horse allergy, we had a lovely weekend."

  • Property just as shown in pictures, Great view!

"We had a wonderful time at this home on SML. The home looks just as the pictures depicts it. The house had a great deck upstairs which we stayed on most of the time chatting. The kitchen had all the amenities that you would ever need. Plenty of dishes, glasses and pans for cooking. The bar area was great for socializing and there was lots of seating for formal dining. There were plenty of informational brochures for people visiting for the first time. There are games, cards, Wii, movies for those who want to play or watch while there. We actually did play cards and Yahtzee. Many sleeping areas for large groups. There was even shampoo and conditioner in the showers, which I was surprised about. Liquid hand soap was provided in all the bathrooms, as were tissues. The dock had several chairs and a large umbrella for those wanting some shade. Lots of deep water in that cove for swimming and the fish were jumping up out of the lake just waiting to be caught! We enjoyed the water toys. Kayaks and paddleboards. There are lots of noodles and life vests of assorted sizes. The hot tub had a great view of the lake. We celebrated my 50th birthday there and everyone raved at what a great time we had and how nice the house was. Tom was so super easy to work with! Such a great guy with a very lovely home at the lake. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The location is close to the grocery store and pretty much any entertainment you might want to find. I am a little partial to SML as I used to live there! It was nice to be able to spend a little time on the water for my birthday!! SUPER HAPPY!!"
