  • Fall Getaway

"This property is the ideal modern mountain getaway. The house is BEAUTIFUL. The exterior is understated, but you will be speechless upon stepping inside. It has a fully stocked kitchen, private sleeping areas, large deck with grill for relaxing and a view from every window. Be aware that the last few miles of the road is gravel. Just go slowly. It's worth the drive. The only thing missing was a mirror in the bedroom. That would have been a nice addition when two people are getting ready for the day. Walk (or drive) further up the road to the mountain top for a sunset.. breath taking. We do want to return!"

  • Beautiful home!

"This home was exactly what our family needed to relax for a few days while touring the area. It is close to Charlottesville, wineries, breweries, etc. The owner is responsive, professional and friendly. The home is warm and comfortable yet still large and perfect for entertaining numbers of guests. My wife found an over-sized chair in the den that faces a wall of glass to a field for a yard. She said she could have sat there for days just reading and relaxing. Our kids had plenty of room to play and explore. Our daughter cried big tears when it was time to leave proving it was a successful visit!"

  • Reclusive, peaceful setting with much to offer

"The Montfair Farm provides a relaxing escape by offering scenic views; opportunities to explore the woods through wonderful trails; and cozy, comfortable cabins. The owners/office staff are very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our short trip to Humpback Mountain that was recommended and our visit to Charlottesville. The food and coffee in Crozet was also delicious. My partner enjoyed fishing and canoeing while I enjoyed hiking and biking the trails. Once I got over the fact that I did not have phone access at the cabin, and that the internet was slow and spotty, I enjoyed this vacation as much as any I have taken. In fact, the lack of connectivity most likely greatly enhanced the relaxation. The A-frame cabin would be perfect for a couple with teenagers or older children, but the steep stairs to the loft is prohibitive for very young children, older people or those with disabilibites. Montfair offers a reclusive, peaceful setting and is a wonderful retreat. Thank you so much to the attentive staff. Dr. Bean"

  • Cozy and Wonderful!

"We loved our stay in the Treehouse! It was cozy, well-equipped, and just what we were looking for in a weekend place in Charlottesville. We had easy access to everything we wanted to do in town. We were there during a heat spell but the window a/c units kept us quite cool. I absolutely adored the outdoor shower - such a pleasant experience! Would definitely stay there again!"
