  • Bea's cabin in the woods is very nice and well taken care of.

"Using Google Maps GPS we were able to find the Cabin going off the address. It was a little tricky at night with the winding roads but it all turned out ok and look for the two big rocks at the end of the drive way. Bea waited up for us for our arrival and that was nice since the drive way is long and goes into the woods a little before clearing at the cabin. She even had some hot muffins for us which turned out to be great as we had not been able to get dinner on our trip there. The cabin is very spacious and accommodates two adults and two kids very easily. The kitchen has plenty of room in it and you can easily bring groceries back for meals. We wish we had time to explore the property a bit such as walking around but we were visiting our daughter at UVA and spent most of our time on campus. The main bed might be a little small if your over 6 foot tall. The cabin is fully decorated so you'll want to be careful on your visit. We peaked at the basement which the cabin has but didn't have any use for it. One thing that it could be beneficial for if ok with Bea would be to store bikes if you had them. The basement is pretty large in size with washer and dryer but unfinished and just a cement floor. The drive to UVA was 25 minutes and didn't seem that far away. Very close to Monticello and Carter's farm so it would be great in the fall months. We enjoyed our stay. One last note, with AT&T the cell service at the cabin was pretty spotty but GPS worked as soon as we go out to the road."

  • Fall Getaway

"This property is the ideal modern mountain getaway. The house is BEAUTIFUL. The exterior is understated, but you will be speechless upon stepping inside. It has a fully stocked kitchen, private sleeping areas, large deck with grill for relaxing and a view from every window. Be aware that the last few miles of the road is gravel. Just go slowly. It's worth the drive. The only thing missing was a mirror in the bedroom. That would have been a nice addition when two people are getting ready for the day. Walk (or drive) further up the road to the mountain top for a sunset.. breath taking. We do want to return!"

  • Charming, comfortable and extremely peaceful. 5 stars!

"I absolutely adore this little house. It's in a beautiful area yet very close to UVA. Quiet street with very pretty homes and lots of trees. Nicely decorated with furnishings that suit the age of the house very well. Comfortable and clean. Very quick responses from the owner who graciously allowed us to check in early as we were arriving on a red eye from the West Coast. For those who appreciate peace, quiet and tradition. I will definitely stay again. Thank you Abby!"

  • Great Place To Stay

"We really liked it here. It is much bigger than I expected! Plenty of room to roam around in. And we took advantage of sitting by the river--a very pretty and peaceful spot! Thank you!"
