  • Perfectly Peaceful

"This little beach cottage took me back to a different time, a different era, when things were more quiet and simple. The circa 1920's cottage has been modestly updated to retain its age old charm while providing every needed comfort. There's nothing fancy here, but there shouldn't be. It is casual, comfortable, convenient and is located in what is arguably the best spot on the inlet. It sits right on the water - no road to look over, no power lines to obstruct the view, just grass, beach and water. If the weather had cooperated I would have spent my entire time on the back deck enjoying the peaceful view. The kitchen is throughtfully stocked with every pot, pan, knife, gadget, etc. that you could possibly need. Linda has notes generously posted throughout the cottage indicating how things best operate, where to find things, what to use ("Everything in this cabinet is meant to be used.") and what to do. There's no guess work in getting to know the cottage. You'll feel at home quickly. There are a few quirks that are important to understand, however. The shower is in the clawfoot tub. As a consequence, one must be adequately limber to get in and out of the elevated tub safely. We didn't have a problem with it but some people could. The bed is high and Linda has provided a stool for those who need it. Again, we did not have a problem. Finally, the heating system is a bit noisy because it is clearly a retro fit for an older dwelling. Just get used to it because it is well worth it. This cottage is a perfect and peaceful escape. Don't forget your kayak!"

  • Perfect family celebration

"High Tide and the Guest House provided perfect accomodations to celebrate my retirement with my family. Everyone was very impressed with the spaces inside and out, especially the great room (with the glass walls that opened to join these spaces) where we had several toasts and wonderful meals. Additional family joined us for dinner Saturday night and there was plenty of room for 23 to dine using the tables and bar. The kitchen was wonderful to work in and adequately stocked for preparing large meals. Both houses were spotless and comfortable. Having the additional refrigerator and stove in the Guest House was very useful. The beach held many shells, beach glass and special rocks for the grandkids to collect. Everyone enjoyed the kayaks, pickle ball court and yard games that were provided -- thank you so much! Several family members brought paddle boards and had a great time exploring the coastline as well as teaching newbies. I was initially concerned that the third house on the property had been rented to another party, but the outdoor space is very generous so we could each have our own areas, if wanted, and sharing the kayaks was not an issue. In fact, we ended up having fun watching and interacting with their bachelorette party; such a great group of young women. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect setting to bring family together to help me celebrate this big transition. I would highly recommend these properties and the manager, Warren Knapp. He was always available, courteous and accomodating. Thank you so much for proving the space to create memories we will cherish. We all agreed that we would love to gather here again!"

  • Our stay was very enjoyable.

"The inside of the house was clean and the kitchen was easy to work in. We enjoyed the view from the front looking out into the bay. At first I thought that the road nearby would create a noise distraction but it did not. We would definitely stay here again when the opportunity comes next year."
