  • Fantastic Experience

"We could not agree more with the previous reviews for this lovely home. The views are exceptional and the house was built to take advantage of the beauty of Blacktail Ridge. The house is spacious, quiet, kitchen well equipped, plenty of space for relaxing and taking in the beauty of Orcas Island. The owner was responsive, helpful and provided great information to help us plan our visit. We would love to return. Wonderful property."

  • Wonderful Getaway Place

"Four of us, old college friends, spent a long weekend thoroughly enjoying this house and its surroundings. At first, the idea of going outside to get to the third bedroom seemed odd, but it wasn't an issue and the bedrooms all worked great. The view from the downstairs bedroom, the living room and the deckscsnt be beat. We watched the seals frolicking on logs nearby, experienced a big storm (so cool!), enjoyed a couple of nights by the wood burning stove. Although it's not a big place, it was very comfortable for the 4 of us and very well appointed. We even took two hikes nearby and enjoyed a stop at the local pub and brewery. A wonderful place to have a great weekend retreat!"

  • Lovely for a family getaway

"We had a terrific time for our week away - the house was immaculate, the location was ideal- it's about 15 minutes away from Eastsound and about 20-25 minutes to Moran State Park. We went hiking every day on the island and often went to Cascade lake for swimming afterward. Our family of two adults, 2 kids ages 7 and 10 and my mother (an active senior in her late 70's) had a fantastic time. We ate in almost every night, the kitchen is great to cook in and the grill works beautifully too. We used the hot tub every night - the view is to die for!!! I got up most mornings to see the sunrise. I felt like I was in a special tree house watching the birds, the deer and looking for sea life. The neighborhood is very quiet with only a few houses nearby. I agree that the terrain would not lend itself well to bicycle riding or running directly from or to the house given the steepness. I also would caution this for people with very small children if the parents were staying in the master which is one flight up - though the other bedroom is ideally located across from the bunkbed room. My daughters loved the bunkbeds! I strongly recommend this house for the comfort, the view and the location!"

  • Absolutely Amazing Place

"Our family of 6 adults stayed in the Orcas Oasis home for 5 days and nights in October and found this home to be absolutely amazing. We could barely pull ourselves away from staring out the windows at the most spectacular views! The home is stunning and immaculate inside and out. There is so much room in this home you could have many people staying there and not even run into each other. The hot tub was wonderful to come home to each afternoon after our long hikes. It was relaxing and an amazing place to enjoy the surrounding beauty outdoors. We also enjoyed sitting on the many outdoor decks in the afternoon and evenings to take in more of the stunning scenery. We can't say enough about how absolutely spectacular this house is! And it is amazingly comfortable as well, loved the heated floors but barely needed them due to the well insulation of the home. We also had a huge windstorm while we were there and you could feel just how solid the home was built! We look forward to going back again very soon."
