  • Great location and property.

"Our family enjoyed our first visit to Sturgeon Bay. Kill Kare property is just how we pictured it. Homey, comfortable, just step out the door and you are on the sand beach and water. Gorgeous sunsets and huge firepit! Tom, the owner, is great to work with, responded quickly to my emails and allowed a late checkout, which we wound up not needing!! Our only complaints: the house was not as clean as we are use to with other VRBO rentals-the upstairs had a lot of cobwebs and spiders indicating it had not been cleaned in awhile, slightly dusty upstairs and down-blinds, windows, wooden chairs. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean. Towels were left in the washer that we dried, folded and put away. We were also surprised to find that we not only provided sheets and towels, we had to purchase ALL paper products-TP, paper towels, kleenex, and dishwasher soap! Overall nice stay, but in the future I will be more thorough in asking what is provided and what is not."

  • Beautiful home in a great location for exploring Door County

"My husband and I stayed here for a week in late September. We've always had great luck finding vacation homes through VRBO, but the Ballard House was by far one of the nicest places we've stayed. Don't be fooled by the unassuming look of the exterior - the home is beautifully decorated and in a great location. There's an antique/vintage store across the street, a coffee shop just a block away, and lots of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. This was our first time in Door County, and Sturgeon Bay was a perfect "home base" for exploring the peninsula."

  • Relaxing. Comfortable. Perfect.

"This cabin met every one of our need. It was comfortable and filled with the flavors of "up north." The view of the Green Bay waters was astonishing! We used the fire pit and the fireplace daily, as it was chilly. Four adults slept comfortably. The loft is truly a third bedroom without a door, however, the loft is not meant for the weary — it's a steep climb on the ladder and you cannot stand up in the loft. One person in our party snagged his jammies and became blessed with Holy Pants! It's all part of the good memories we made in paradise. One day we invited some other friends over for a dinner and all nine of us comfortably filled the dining/living area during the meal. Three couples could comfortably enjoy this cabin for a week. We thank the owners for allowing us to stay in their little piece of paradise. GO PACK GO!!!"
