  • Perfect, perfect, perfect

"The photos do not lie! This place is the real deal, the joint, the goods. Big Pine is cozy, handsome, extremely clean, in great shape, up to date, and so comfortable. It's the kind of place you cruise past on a boat and exclaim, "Wow, I wish we could stay there." Though intimate, there is plenty of space to spread out on three floors and out of doors. The yard is lovely, the patios are great, the deck is nice, the dock is perfect, the water is warm and shallow, and the dock is perfect for a big boat and easy parking. The kitchen is not crowded and everything works nice and easy. Just sitting in the house or on the porch and having a coffee is so pleasant because it is all so handsome. Right out of a magazine. Truly a perfect spot with all the little things put in place so that you can enjoy your trip. While there are a few boats passing by every now and then, it is a wonderfully quiet place and nights are perfect for peaceful sleeping in the most excellent beds and bedding - with ceiling fans to keep you cool. Boat ramp access is one lake away via a narrow channel which made for easy delivery of our rental boats. The lake is great for fishing, boating, water sports, and bird watching. Finally, the owner Pam is wonderful to work with. So organized, so thoughtful, so prompt, and so helpful in making sure that all of our questions were answered and needs met. Cannot say enough good things about her. I was so happy with our Big Pine stay that I immediately reserved it for 2017 upon arriving home from our trip. And you should too!"

  • The Best Vacation Experience EVER!

"My wife and I were looking for a vacation cabin in the Northwoods for our 28th anniversary trip. We found this quaint cottage online while looking around the Minocqua, WI area. After calling the owners, we were very happy that there was an available cottage for us during the weekend we chose. When we arrived, the owner took the time to show us around the cottage and explain where everything was. What we had no way of knowing was how friendly, accommodating and personable the owners would be during our stay! They went out of their way to make sure we knew where stores and restaurants were in town as well as just spending a few moments and talking to us about life in Minocqua. After a couple of days of conversations, it was just like talking with old friends! As for the cottage, it had just been renovated and it was beyond beautiful and more than large enough for the two of us. Their decorating skills are top notch! From the awesome gazebo in the yard to the fire pit by the water and all the water recreation toys they had, our vacation was incredible! We even took a short trip up to the towns around the Michigan/Wisconsin state line to see some waterfalls. The ONLY regret we have is that we didn't stay the whole week!! We would NEVER think of staying anywhere else the next time we stay in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. This resort is the ELITE getaway of Minocqua with owners that really care about your stay and experience. Don't miss this one! Thank you again for an unforgettable trip!"

  • Wonderful trip

"The Loon's Nest was just perfect for a long weekend. Anne was an amazing host. The best part was sitting on the dock in the early fall sun. Such a beautiful location."

  • Great Fall Getaway

"We had a great stay in the cabin over the Columbus Day Holiday weekend. The leaves were at peak color, the downtown area was within walking distance using the trail bridge, and most of the downtown businesses were still open for the late tourist season. The cabin was cozy and open. Everything we needed was there. We made use of the dock with our fishing kayaks. It was great to enjoy our early morning coffee while fishing off the dock. We made some great memories and can't wait to go back."
