  • Wonderful lake house with lots of charm

"This lake house on Powers Lake was just awesome. Our family gathered from 3 different states and enjoyed the many amenities that the property offered. The beautiful grounds and the house itself were in great shape. The kitchen, bathrooms and all other rooms were very clean and offered everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The furnishings were so quaint and cozy that we felt at home right away. Using the pontoon boat turned out to be a favorite activity each day. Our grandchildren loved taking rides around the lake; especially when we anchored near a sand bar in the middle of the lake and they were able to walk in shallow water in what should have been very deep water. We all enjoyed fishing off the shore, toasting s'mores around the fire pit in the evenings, and just savoring the privacy and quiet of this beautiful home. We would recommend it as a wonderful vacation site for anyone. The Westendorf Family"

  • Fantastic Home Away from Home

"My family and friends celebrated my birthday with a long three-day weekend at the Retreat. Daniel was super to work with before, during and after our stay. And we were thoroughly delighted with our visit! The house is just a beautiful as the photos indicate, and fully equipped for comfort and fun. The bedrooms and bathrooms are plentiful, super comfortable, and met all our needs. Kitchen was fantastic and we loved cooking and socializing in it. The sunken living room is beautiful and comfortable, while the family room accommodated many a game of pool and darts as well as some delightful movie watching by the whole gang. The master bedroom and bath are a dream (oh man, that jacuzzi!). We enjoyed the enclosed patio and the balconies, the outside patio and fire pit, the hot tub, some games of volleyball and badminton, and the little patio overlooking the lake at the bottom of the stairs. The cram-packed game cupboard provided a fun puzzle and trivia game. And probably best of all were the three spectacular sunrises and three glorious moonrises we got to see. In short, we didn't even have to leave the property to enjoy ourselves immensely. Everything was very clean, and there are plenty of instructions all over for using the tons of equipment and appliances provided. I can't imagine anyone not loving staying in this comfortable and spectacular home. Thsnks so much, Daniel!"

  • Friends From Chicago

"Third time renting the house and we love it! House is always so clean and plenty of room for a group of friends to stay. Bedrooms are a nice size for all to have space. The new Fire Pit in the yard is great! Vince is always so great to work with, so friendly and flexible. We love the house. Thanks again Vince! See you soon ;-)"

  • Great location for team meetings

"We used both of the Nautical houses for a 12 person (adults) team meeting. The locations were perfect for our group's size and we lucked out with perfect weather and enjoyed the BBQ as well as having breakfast on the patios. The location was easy for colleagues from around the country to get to- just a short drive from O'hare. Plenty of parking which was great because once we arrived, we walked nearly everywhere. Enjoyed dinner and one breakfast downtown, along with ice cream and early morning walks along the lake. We found both houses well decorated and very clean. We were able to make use of many of the living and dining spaces. Everyone slept comfortably thanks to great beds, linens and ceiling fans (in many of the rooms). The wifi kept up with our needs and we found the kitchens well-stocked to cook dinner and lunch for the group. Would recommend to any large groups looking for a get away with lots of options to walk to."
