Our beautifully remodeled condo at the Papakea Ocean Front Resort, which has the smallest number of units on some of the largest acreage of any resort in Kaanapali. The grounds consist of almost 14 acres of open grass area, tropical gardens, bamboo & palm trees, koi ponds with water fountains and walkways lighted with tiki torches. We have 2 large pools(1 heated), 2 large jacuzzis, 2 putting greens, 2 shuffleboards and 3 lighted tennis courts on the resort, as well as other amenities.
The Papakea is adjacent to Kaanapali Beach and a short ride to the harbor town of Lahaina. There are wonderful art galleries, restaurants and shops within walking distance and in nearby Lahaina. We have a local farmers market a few days a week in the neighboring road behind the resort for some wonderful local fruits and other great foods.
Our spacious studio has terrific views of the ocean from the kitchen, living area and the large lanai, as you can see from the pictures.
There are no check-in or resort fees with us and parking is free. If you mention that you saw us on VRBO we will discount the checkout cleaning fee to just $65 for a 7 nights or more stay!

I stayed here for 10 days in May 2010. The room was a great value and nicely remodeled. The location was perfect as it was less crowded than the resort area. We barbequed by the pool each night and felt guilty for not bringing the kids. I only have a couple complaints. One that the toilet wouldn't flush without you keeping the handle down, so you couldn't just flush and walk away. Not cool. Also they don't stock you for toilet paper or laundry soap or garbage sacks for the full amount of days you are there, so we ran out and had to buy. Also, I have never stayed at a condo that didn't have seasonings, foil, saran wrap, oil. Items that could be shared and replaced if used up during your stay. However, I left some behind. The bed was a murphy bed, which I had never slept in before, but it worked. Was very convenient to pop it back into the wall when not in use. The location of this unit is in the B Building (307) and had a great view that is truly represented in the pictures. I felt at home during my stay and just wish it had an extra room so I could stay there with the kids. I booked through Misty at Maui Dreams Come True and was happy with her service. Dukes Restaurant down the beach at the Honua-Kai Resort was the best meal we had out, however, we purchased fish at the "Fish Market" across the street and barbequed it regularly. Buy your seasonings at home and bring in your luggage. Go fishing with Patrick and Uke on the Action. Those guys are great and the Tuna we caught was worth the trip! Patrick cut off fresh strips of Ahi that we ate right on the dock and later took back and barbequed. All in all, best trip ever and we will be back soon.
