Welcome to the new Waipouli Beach Resort; centrally located on the beautiful Waipouli Beach coastline near the historical town of Kapaa. Just 7 miles from the airport and half way between Poipu and Princeville, the resort is convenient to everything. You can take a day trip anywhere on the island and still be "home" before dark! Shops, groceries, ice cream, restaurants, the Wednesday Farmer's Market, and the Coconut Market Place are all within walking distance. Want more exercise? Use the machines in the free fitness center or hike the newly completed 12 foot wide cement walking trail that runs for miles along the beach.
The Waipouli Beach Resort was completed in December of 2006 and is the newest luxury resort on Kauai. It is easy to see why it was given "The 2006 Parade of Homes Award of Excellence". The complex is made up of eight attractive four story buildings, a chlorine-free pool/river with a sand children's play area, two waterslides and four waterfalls (one over a swimming cave).There are three free form hot tubs with sand bottoms and a pond with water plants and koi. The snack shop offers snacks around the pool and the Tahitian Lanai Bar & Grille separates the two acre pool area from the ocean and the sandy beach. Lounge chairs and beach towels are provided in both areas.
The resort has just under 200 privately owned condominiums. Most of them have the same floor plan with two master suites and a third bath. Our PRIVATE PENTHOUSE has no neighbors on any side or above. The elevator will whisk you right up to our door. We have a mountain view of Sleeping Giant and overlook acres of swaying palm trees. We can also see a bit of the ocean and are protected from the wind so the lanai is more usable. Our designer furnishings are tasteful, comfortable and top quality. We provide luxury bed linens, a variety of pillow options and the most comfortable mattresses available.
Kauai is pleasant year round, so we offer the same low price through out the year. OUR RATE IS USUALLY THE LOWEST OFFERED IN THE RESORT. Rates are subject to an 13.42% Hawaii tax and a $150 cleaning charge. Since nearly all the units have the same floor plan and same furnishings, the only difference is the location within the complex. We know that you have the choice of many units at a variety of prices, but E-401 will give you the most enjoyment for your money.

Year Purchased: 2006
Richard is from Texas and Donna is from Minnesota. We met in Germany and got married in 1965. Our two married children live in Europe; a long way to go to visit the grandchildren! We spend most winters in Kauai, to get away from the California cold. (That is a joke for you people from Minnesota and Canada.)
Why the Owner Chose Waipouli
Our first trip to Kauai was in 1980. Donna worked for United Airlines and got a "freebie" at the resort just south of Waipouli. We came back to Kauai several times and then bought a one bedroom unit at the Pono Kai Resort, just north of Waipouli. A year later we bought a 2 bedrom. Our family and friends enjoyed many years there. When the new complex was built right down the road, we sold both units and bought our penthouse in the fancy new Waipouli Beach Resort.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
We love the location. It is just a short drive to the north to Hanalei or to the south to Poipou. On the days the golfers take the car, the rest of the family can walk nearly everywhere they want to go. In the evenings we nearly always play cards or Parchesi on our deck. It is protected from the wind and is comfortable nearly all of the time.

My husband, his father, and I stayed in this condo a few months ago, and had a wonderful visit. The unit was exactly as represented -- clean, convieniently located, and relaxing. The elevator took us directly to the front door of the condo, making shopping and beach-going easy. The pool area and barbeques were clean and easy to use, and while there were quite a few families with children, all guests were polite and respectful. In other words, no unruly or unsupervised children!! I would definitely stay here again. We requested an arrival time earlier than our contract stated, and housekeeping accomodated us, cheerfully. Our stay provided a great hybrid of hotel and home living, at a fair price.
Recommended for:People with disabilities, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

My parents and I stayed at this condo for a wonderful three weeks on the beautiful island of Kauai! We very much enjoyed all the amenties the Madden's condo has to offer. We were wanting for nothing the entire time we were there. My parents are elderly, 77 and 80 years old, and are still in great shape for travel. At their age they deserve the best accomodation available and this condo certainly fits the bill. Not only is the condo and resort very well appointed, it is also situated in a great location. I would highly recommend this property to anyone and have already mentioned it to several friends. We will definitely be back! P.S. Had a wonderful time in Kauai and so enjoyed your unit. Had all the comforts of home plus wonderful weather! My wife Lauren and I would like to extend a very big thank you for a wonderful stay at your Kauai Condo this past week. We had a absolute blast, and pleasant stay in your amazing condo. The condo was perfect for what we were looking for and the resort is beautiful. We had never been to Kauai before, but it didn't take long to fall in love with the place. The island is so much different than the others. We spent a lot of time exploring, hiking, and relaxing on our vacation. We were in the room for the "Tsunami"....if you want to call it that....we were told anything above the 3rd floor was going to be fine so we stayed in that day and waited for the event to happen. Luckily nothing noticeable occurred, and we were able to enjoy the pool for the rest of the day. Your unit is perfectly furnished and the bed was amazingly comfortable. We had no issues getting into the unit and everything worked out wonderfully for our stay. The next time we decide to visit Kauai, we will think of your unit 1st! There is no better place to stay on Kauai! The resort itself couldn't be more conveniently located - right on the beach, across the street from a major grocery store/pharmacy/restaurants, down the street from the Coconut Marketplace (movies, free hula shows, restaurants, shopping) and the community children's playground (massive plus great snorkeling, all in one spot) and conveniently located between the north (Hanalei/Princeville) and south (Poipu) sides of the island. The Madden's condo is even more luxurious, beautiful and spacious than shown on the photos...and they were an absolute pleasure to work with. So professional, caring and kind. We will not stay anywhere else on Kauai!

We stayed for one week at this fabulous condo which was beautifully decorated and had everything as described in the unit information. We loved the location and proximity to shops, restaurants and activities. Our drawback was 5 out of 7 days there was clouds and rain. However we still managed to swim in the pool, if the sun came out for an hour we were there. Without hesitation this is a wonderful location ( weather you can't control). Our family had a wonderful time staying at the Madden's condo. Everything was perfect, I would not have changed a thing. We enjoyed all of our meals out on the Lanai. Everything was so convenient, with the grocery store across the street, the elevator right to our door, the delivery of fresh linens everyday, and the pool and ocean just steps away. The staff were all very accomodating, my children loved that they could feed the Koi every morning. Our favorite day was our last day there-we stayed on property the entire day going from the beach to watch the sunrise to our room for breakfast, down to the pool for a play date we set-up with new friends, back to the room for lunch, back down to the beach and then dinner at the bar oceanside. It was so nice to not HAVE to get in the car. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us, my son cried when we returned home. That is a sign of a great vacation. We will definitely look up the Madden's when we return to Kauai!

My husband and I along with another couple stayed here for four nights. Wow! What a place. Everything was better than described and better than expected. The condo is beautifully furnished, the bathrooms are huge and you'll never want to leave the plush beds. The location was convenient to both the north and south shores along with shopping, dinning and grocery. The condo was plenty big for 4 and certainly could accomodate 6. The ammenities were awesome and the staff was so hospitalble. Don't let a new place scare you off - this was great! We highly recommend Waipouli Beach Resort and the Maddens.

Our family had a wonderful vacation in Kauai thanks in part to Richard Madden. What a first class facility from the furnishings, the view, the location, the price - everything was perfect! Additionally, the staff at the Waipouli Beach Resort were more than accommodating at every turn - from the check-in, the bellboy, the pool staff, the concierge - all made us feel like very welcome guests. I couldn't have been happier with everyone there. Every time we passed through the lobby, there was a pleasant cheerful smile and Aloha greeting. I would highly recommend Mr. Maddens unit as his communication and accommodating approach was stellar. If I ever travel back to Kauai (it's a LONG way from upstate NY!), I will definitely be contacting him again. Thanks for a great week!

We were the first people to stay in this wonderful new condo. We spent a month there from mid-December to mid-January. The resort, the unit, and the weather were all perfect and that is good because we are the owners of the unit! The location is great for us because one of us takes the car to play golf and the other is able to walk to all the shops and fun places. We have been coming to Kauai for over twenty years and owned two condos at Pono Kai, which is about a mile north of the Waipouli Beach Resort. Both of our units there were on the top floor and had fabulous ocean views. We sold them and bought our penthouse unit at Waipouli. We traded our ocean view for a mountain view, partially because of price and partially because we were tired of being blown to bits on our lanai. This was the right choice for us because we are now able to enjoy evenings on the lani and the cards don't get blown off the table! It was also the right choice for you because we are able to offer a much lower rental rate.
