Located on beautiful Kelenski Point, this spacious cottage (2,350 square feet) is perfect for family vacations. Inside, it has lots of living area, plenty of bathrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, a fireplace, and a wet bar, as well as central air conditioning. Outside, the large attached deck, complete with grill, picnic tables, and patio furniture, overlooks the lawn and 100 feet of firm, direct frontage on one of Michigan's best lakes - clean, clear, all-sports Lake Leelanau. Use of the dock, two-person kayak, and rowboat are included with your rental. Shallow water by the shore and dock is perfect for wading and swimming, and a drop-off about 100 yards from shore is a popular spot for fishing. Please see our web-site below for more details.
Many Cottage Amenities: We have a fully-equipped kitchen (including refrigerator/freezer with ice maker, cook top, oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and other small appliances, cooking utensils, and kitchen towels) which opens to both the dining room and very large living room. The living room overlooks the lake and has a TV (cable) and DVD/VCR, as well as a wood-burning fireplace and wet bar. The bonus room, with its sofa, TV (cable), DVD/VCR, and 4-in-1 game table, means there is always something to do, even if the weather doesn't cooperate. Use our book, game, puzzle, video, and DVD collections, or bring your own. Our half acre lot provides plenty of space for outdoor games (Bocce anyone?) and gathering around the fire pit in the evenings. Central air conditioning keeps you cool on even the hottest summer days!

What a wonderful week we had

July 2012 We had a wonderful week. The cottage was just as it was described and the cleanest I have stayed in. The furniture was very comfortable. Just a short walk to the water. The kitchen had everything we needed. Thank goodness for A.C. It was very hot all week and we only had one camp fire. There is so much to do in the area. My kids rode their bikes early in morning and one afternoon rode to the winery just up the road. I loved the food at the Cedar Inn. We ate there twice. Found a place on M-22 just outside of Glen Arbor that makes homepies. I had 3 of them in one week. Blueberry pie is the best. We just had a great time and Thank You Betsy for sharing.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: You are very welcome! Thank you so much for the lovely comments, and we are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us.

We spent two fabulous weeks, and could have stayed two months. The cottage is meticulously maintained, supplied with everything you could possibly need, spacious, comfy, and in the PERFECT location. You can spend days at the cottage relaxing and enjoying the lake, and days sightseesing all over NW Michigan. We couldn't fit in everything we wanted to do or see, or eat everywhere we wanted to eat, so we're hoping to come back next year! Thank you so much for sharing your little treasure with us!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your kind words! We are delighted that you enjoyed your time in Michigan, and look forward to having you back at Leelanau Lookout very soon.

Leelanau Lookout provided the perfect location for our extended family while we enjoyed an awesome show of fall color and an incredible wine tour! The pictures provide a very accuate view of the cottage; however, it exceed our expectations in every way. We've rented from many home away or vrbo owners and this is one of the best. The cottage was exceptionally clean and well maintained indoors and out. This is the first homeowner who freely offered the use of condiments, laundry soap, etc. We came prepared and didn't need to use anything but the thoughtfulness and willingness to share is another example of exceeding our expectations. As we seriously consider making our wine tour an annual family event, this home will be our first pick!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you so much. We're so glad we were able to contribute to your family weekend, and look forward to having you stay with us again soon!

Cedar is a great location on Leelanau peninsula. Centrally located, close to everything. The house exceeded our expecations. It was clean and very well-kept. Swimming in the lake in the backyard was great. It was kind of rocky near shore; recommend water shoes; not bad though. Nice backyard area for playing with the kids. We would recommend this rental to a friend. We will probably go back next year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you so much. You are right about the rocks and water shoes near the shore, and I am including this information when I answer inquiries. Hope to see you at Leelanau Lookout again!

What a great place for a family vacation, there was 11 of us and we also rented the vacation home next door which worked out very well. We had lots of yard space for outdoor games and the grandchildren really enjoyed the rumpus room and the boats. The vacation home was very clean and well maintained and had all the amenities and comforts of home, we loved the area and would consider returning for another visit. Thank you for making this a wonderful vacation. John & Kathy Broadview Hts OHRecommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We had a great visit to Leelenau Lookout. We were there in October for some wine tasting. It was in a great location for visiting wineries. There were 3 couples and we had plenty of room. It was very clean and well maintained. Betsy answered all my questions quickly and even provided extra tips. I would definitely recommend this to everyone and we are in fact trying to figure out when we could go back. It would be awesome in the summer.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This is a bright, cheerful cottage with lots of room, great sleeping for 8 and a wonderful master bath. The kitchen is roomy and well stocked. The deck facing the lake is big with table and chairs and a picnic table and grill. There is a nice grassy area for playing outdoor games, and a rowboat and kayak for enjoying the lake. Suttons Bay, Leland, and Northport are short drives, as are all of the other wonderful attractions on the Leelanau Penninsula. A great place for a family getaway in beautiful northern Michigan. We would recommend it to anyone!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

About the owner: Beautiful sunrises start the day off right!
Why the Owner Chose Lake Leelanau:
Our family loves Lake Leelanau, and has been vacationing here since 1995. For a long time, our girls thought 'vacation' and 'Leelanau' meant the same thing! After years of dreaming and looking, we were finally able to purchase our cottage in late 2006, and love having our own special place in Leelanau.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Being on Kelenski Point means we have a beautiful, peaceful setting with fantastic views of the lake. We are close to all our favorite spots (Fishtown, Suttons Bay, the Dunes Lakeshore), as well as Traverse City, with its more urban vibe. Really, it's the best of both worlds!
