Location! Minutes from Elk Rapids, the whole group will enjoy this spacious cottage right on Elk Lake, sandy bottom beach, and large yard. Amazing views of the lake from the open floor plan. Overlooking the private space through the wall of oversized sliders. 1000 sq. foot deck with plenty of lounging and dining areas. Four bedrooms and full walkout basement with plenty of toys! We are currently upgrading furniture.

Clean, spacious house. Lots of fun activities in the basement. Lake view is spectacular. Kitchen had plenty of room for making and eating big means. Back yard was big and great for the kids to run around. Basement is a little rough so if you've got little ones they need to be supervised. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is that it's located about 15 feet off a fairly busy road. The noise of cars flying by can be a bit loud at night.

This was a cute little property with a nice big back yard and beautiful views. The rooms were clean and comfortable and our host was very easy to communicate with. There were lots of games and things to do and included paddle boards and kayaks. It was a great in-between point to stay and be able to visit both Sleeping Bear Dunes and Mackinac Island. The only real downside was the very loud and busy road that goes right by the house. It took away from the peacefulness of the backyard and we were lucky to be able to sleep in past 6:00am. We couldn't believe how loud it was. If you're from the Midwest that's probably a non-issue but being from the West coast it was really annoying with the 3 hour time difference.

The lake view is stunning. The property has a large yard which is perfect for the kids. Close to quaint town with beach access to the bay. We will definitely come back.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at this property! Our family gathered here for a week, and it was the perfect spot for relaxing, swimming, and boating. The house was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a big deck that became our go-to spot for coffee in the morning.The lake was beautiful, the sandy-bottom water was ideal, and we made some of our best memories sitting around the wood firepit together at night. The host was responsive and easy to work with, and everything was exactly as described (if not better). We’d highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a peaceful and fun lake vacation—we’d love to come back!

This was a family get together. The location and home exceeded our expectations. From the easy check in to all the amenities available we were very pleased. We enjoyed the provided kayaks and paddle boards. The fire pit got plenty of use. Everything we needed, except maybe a better wine opener. The accommodations made for a perfect week. Thanks Trevor.

Would stay here again!

Stayed here for a weekend trip with 11 of my close girl friends. The house had more than enough seating and beds for all of us. The house was clean, private, in a great location (reasonably close to Traverse City) and overall well furnished for a large group. We were a big fan of the view of the lake from the deck along with the abundance of comfortable seating outside. The house was ready a few hours prior to our scheduled check-in time and the host communicated effectively. The house instructions were clear and the host didn't ask much of us prior to check-out. Overall, would definitely recommend this property to groups of 13 or less.

Fabulous Family Lake Vacation

My mom/sisters/I rented this home for a week of fun with our kids ranging from 16 months to 16 years - and we had a blast! The yard, lake access, and deck were perfect! We didn't spend much time indoors but the beds were comfy and we were able to make nice meals and watch some Olympics. We also rented a pontoon boat and a lily pad which made spending time on Elk Lake even better.

Outstanding venue for large family lake vacation!

Loon cottage is the perfect location for a large group wanting a lake getaway. The large beautiful yard is perfect for games and bonfires. It's located on a great area of the lake that is also very convenient to Elk Rapids and Traverse City. The inside of the cottage is setup to be very comfortable and has a game room on the lower level. The host was incredibly responsive. Our group had a perfect vacation here and we highly recommend it.

Great Place!

We loved staying at this house. It had plenty of room for 8 of us and loved everything it had to offer. The location was great. Close to so many things. They had kayaks and paddle boards for us to use and a great back yard to have fires every night and enjoy the amazing view of the lake. Thank you for an amazing week. We will be back!

Michigan family reunion

The view and property out to the lake was superb. Swimming off the property was a bit challenging for our older family members. The cottage offered plenty of sleeping capacity. Much of the cottage interior was rather "tired"...could use some sprucing up. Otherwise it was functional for our purposes.

Perfect family getaway!

We were thrilled with the indoor and outdoor spaces with this property. As reviews stated there is some road noise being near a busier road, but the amenities and the view make it barely noticeable. We enjoyed sipping wine on the outdoor deck, overlooking the lake, as well as roasting s’mores around the large and tidy fire pit. We had one full day of rain but had plenty to entertain both the adults and kiddos. Excellent host communication. Will stay here again!
