We had a wonderful time! It was me and my family, along with a friend, and of course our Chocolate Lab. The dog just loved being in the river. We took full advantage of the fire pit with the grilling grate and the weather was beautiful. We are thinking of going back in the fall. I would recommend this place for anyone who wants to slow down for awhile.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, sightseeing.

I took my wife, 2 boys (2 and 6), and my parents to this cabin for vacation. We all really enjoyed the cabin. The boys ran around and played in the yard and floated in the water. I enjoyed sitting out at night on the patio watching the stars. The only sound was the water. There is plenty to do within a reasonable distance if you plan on sightseeing.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

This spacious cabin on the Middle Fork was a wonderful retreat for a week in wild wonderful West Virginia. The listing is super accurate and everything was as advertised. The cabin is very spacious with a very large master suite with its own bathroom and whirlpool bath. There is a lot of room to move around for a family (we were six). The river is literally right out the back door if you like to be on the water. We experienced no problems at all during the entire week. The fire pit is a big highlight...we were around it every night. The owner is great...very helpful. Highly recommended!!!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Dan and family have provided a wonderful haven to escape the frantic realities of daily life. This place is wonderfully appointed with rustic accoutrements. We spent a week there but are still wishing for more! The place is just a few steps from the Middle Fork river with a very nice swimming hole right upstream as well as supporting a nice population of rock bass and smallmouth during summer months, I lost track of how many I caught and released! The fire pit with cooking grate on the patio is the way to spend the evening and to cook breakfast the next morning! What a place to recharge your batteries! The place is fully stocked with almost any cooking/dining equipment you may need as well as all your grilling tools. Hoping to get back next year! THANKS DAN ! The umbrella for the picnic table on the deck made for nice shade to read in and for our dogs to lounge in. Brother in law LOVED the hammock! The owner is fantastic to work with on your rental. We have had great success with VRBO rentals but this one was the absolute smoothest transaction to date! On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate the place and owner as an 11 ! With a little bit of driving there are many sights to see in this area, beautiful scenery! The top of the ridge at Dolly Sods is fantastic on a hot day!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I grew up in Buckhannon and have since moved away and started a family. We outgrew my mom's house years ago and have always been scrambling to find a place to stay when we visit WV. I have a 3 year old and 1.5 year old. The hotels in Buckhannon are sketchy at best and just not young children friendly. THis was the best of both worlds. About 15 minutes outside of Buckhannon, on a very secluded dirt road, steps from the river. We had family visit every day and had cookouts, swimming, tubing, etc. The house is maintained well and clean. The back deck and firepit are amazing and were used nightly. We could take walks in the early morning with the children down the road or through the woods- it was one of the best trips I've had home in years.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

This was the perfect place for our family to spend a mini-vacation during our kids spring break. After a cold and snowy winter we needed to get outdoors and River's Edge was the right choice!! The weather was beautiful. I can still here the rushing water and crackling campfires. We took along bikes, four wheelers, fishing poles, and EVERYONE had a blast! Even our "fur baby" was able to come along with us on this trip. The cabin decor is awesome and the cabin inside and out is clean and tidy. We all had a great time and I would highly recommend this place--it is fun for all ages :)Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car.
